His eyes were red showing his anger level. His knuckles become pale due to his hard-fisted hands. His jaws were clutched tightly. His chest moved up and down rapidly as he was breathing like a beast. All he could see is red. For the first in life, Ragini was scared to stand infront of him. She stepped back as she couldn’t stand infront of his raged eyes.
Laksh roared while breaking all things: “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH RAGINI”
Ragini stood in a corner who didn’t expect this reaction from Laksh. Finally Laksh took deep breath to control his anger he turned towards Ragini and marched towards her. Ragini just merged in the wall looking at Laksh with fear. She looked down at floor to avoid seeing his face but Laksh stood close to her and lift her head with chin. Ragini was shocked to see tears running down from his red eyes.
Laksh almost whispered: How can you say like that Ragini? (Now he shouted.) HOW CAN YOU? HOW CAN YOU EVEN THINK OF LEAVING ME? Huh? (He stepped back looking at her eyes while Ragini flinched at his tone.) I have done a lot to make you live with me, only with me Ragini. (Ragini looked at him confused.) But you are saying just move apart. Your words were like killing my heart Ragini. (He closed his eyes to let out his tears.) What you said? I took you for granted? Really?! Haan I know I had used you and your love and didn’t even consider your love at past I know. That’s the biggest sin I had done in my life Ragini. But do you think that I took you for granted when I fight for you in a pub, when I trusted only my best friend not even my so called love, when I stood with my wife as a husband in every things you said against Swara, when I stood against my brother only for you and fight with him too, when I tried to save you from that woman on new year party, when I took your words seriously and found the truth of the gold digger, when I had fallen on your feet to accept my love, when I stood along with you for your brother, when I fight against my whole family and stood with you to make them forgive us, when I left you and my whole family to live with Mansi and Mishka? (Ragini who was looking somewhere till now, looked into his eyes accusingly when he said the last part. Laksh just held her shoulders and looked into her eyes.) Don’t believe what you are just seeing through your eyes Ragini because many things are happening on your back. You don’t know anything. (He left her shoulder and turned around and rubbed his face with the back of his hands. He then shouted.) YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING RAGINI.
(He now turned to Ragini with teary eyes.) That’s why you said like this. I can’t Ragini, I can’t. I can’t say anything to you now. But remember one thing. (He pulled her closer; his eyes were filled with some mystery and pain. Ragini was trying to look deep in his eyes and open the mystery.) I was about to promise on our unborn child not for Mishka but for you. ONLY FOR YOU RAGINI! (Ragini’s eyes widens and she was more confused she was about to say something but Laksh left her and turned around. He ran his fingers through his hair to control his anger and sooth his pain but he couldn’t. His tears were falling down without any restriction. He once again turned towards Ragini and said) you thought that I can’t feel your pain naa Ragini. But you are wrong. Though I didn’t even know your pain before, I could feel it now Ragini; because I love you. (His words were more than a whisper.) I had done many things due to my impulsiveness Ragini but this time what I am doing is the only way to have my love and life only with me.
I won’t step back in this and give you up Ragini. (He looked straight and said to himself.) I should and I will win in this. (But Ragini heard it and looked at him with more confusion. Laksh looked at Ragini with soft eyes.) You don’t need to be scared Ragini, I won’t even touch your shadow Ragini. (His face shows determination.) I swear Ragini you will regret your words when you come to know the hell I am undergoing now. (He was about to leave the room but looked again at Ragini who was standing like a statue.) Don’t even get the thought of leaving me. I won’t leave you also don’t think that I won’t care for you. You are my responsibility and you are the one who made me to stand up on my responsibility, so I will not step back even if it costs my life. I love you Ragini. You are mine and you are my wife!
He said and went out of the room leaving Ragini to stand like a statue. Ragini sat down with a thud; her mind was recalling all his words. Her face was pale and frowned with confusion.
Ragini’s POV,
What the hell happened now?? I felt relieved that I had finally taken out all my questions and frustrations but he just left me confused here. ‘Only for me!? Behind my back? Don’t know anything?’ What? What’s all this? I couldn’t understand. But one thing is sure; he is hiding something from me. But what was that? Why should he hide it from me? Why he has to promise in his own child FOR ME? What’s that for me? His eyes hold some mystery, a mystery that I haven’t seen before or should I say I had just noticed today. I need to solve it and solve everything between us. He looks so vulnerable when I said I am leaving him. It’s confirmed that he was doing something for me. He was struck in something where the main target is me! But what is that? I need to find it by hook or crook.
Ragini thought determinedly and cleaned the mess Laksh made. She went to the balcony and sat on the couch looking at the full moon waiting for Laksh.
Laksh was shown sitting on the hood of the car in half lying portion looking at the moon with eyes full of tears. His tears trailed down his cheek and falls on the car. He gulped some drink and kept on looking the moon painfully.
Laksh’s POV,
You have broken me Ragini. Though you didn’t mean to, but it does Ragini. I was very hurt when you said that I could not see your pain. You are really a blind Ragini, how can you not see how much I love you and care for you. Only I can see your pain you stupid. (He took the empty bottle and threw it on the road.) How can you even say that I don’t care for our child? He is my part of life Ragini. I am doing everything only for you and him. You both were my world. Other than you both I don’t know anything. I can’t live without you both. Please Ragini don’t say that you leave me, again. Rather than that just kill me with your own hands Ragini. I love you Ragini, I really love you. I love our child as much as you do Ragini. (He falls on his knees and cries his heart out.)
A pair of highly branded shoes was tapping on the floor infront of Laksh. Laksh’s eyes immediately turned dark and cold. He looked up to see a man looking down at him. He said with his hoarse voice: You should give up Laksh. She is meant to be mine.
Laksh stood up with his clenched arms. They both were at same height but the face of other person was dark due to the headlights of his car. Laksh wanted to kill him at the moment but instead he said: If so she wouldn’t be with me. But she was with me, is with me and will be with me, FOREVER. Did u get that?
Laksh raised his eyebrow arrogantly at that man. In turn he smirked evilly and said: Yeah she was with u and is with u but she will be with me as mine forever.
Laksh gritted his teeth and looked at him with ice stare but that man didn’t flinch; he just smirked to make Laksh more and more frustrated. He said: Just get out of the way and let me to take what’s mine. If you let me to take mine, I won’t touch anything of yours. But if you stood in my way then I will destroy everything of yours.
Laksh started to laugh historically at that man. He becomes irritated and frustrated. Laksh sensed his irritation and gave him a satisfied smirk. He walks closer and looked into his eyes with a cold stare: Do whatever u want! But u can’t succeed because I won’t let u to come near my wife.
Laksh turned around and was about to go but turned again with an arrogant smile and said with proud: Even if u get her, though it’s impossible, but still if u get her, u can’t make her to love u. Because, Ragini is meant for Laksh and Laksh is meant for Ragini. Ragini can love only Laksh and live only for Laksh. Anyone could cross our life but her heart and soul is mine. Only mine! So I can do anything for her. After all I am her love and she is my love… also…SHE IS MY WIFE!
He took his coolers and put it stylishly and walked towards his car leaving a fuming man behind. That man said: No more cat and mouse game now it’s time to start the real game.
Ragini darling, wait for few more days. I will be there before u and take u away from ur so called love.
He smirked and went to his car and drove away. Ragini had slept in the couch while waiting for Laksh. Laksh entered the room in his semi conscious state. With the sound of bolting of door, Ragini woke up and saw Laksh’s state. She feels bad for him. Laksh just falls on his bed and closed his eyes without even changing. Ragini sighed and took off his boots and watch and wallet. She was about to go but heard Laksh’s murmuring. “Please don’t leave me Ragini. I can’t live without u and our child. Please be with me, forever. Please. Please.” Ragini looked at him. She runs her finger on his hair. “I will Laksh.” She whispered on his ear. Laksh smiled at his sleep and murmured “Love u”. Ragini kissed his forehead and said “We love u too Laksh.” He smiled softly and make baby like voices and slept peacefully. Seeing his peaceful face Ragini smiled softly and went to sleep.
Next morning,
Laksh woke up with a heavy headache because of effects of alcohol. He looked towards the night stand and found tablets and juice with cards “Eat me”, “Drink me”. He smiled widely and took them. He stood up from his bed and went to fresh up. When he came back to his room while ruffling his wet hair, he saw Ragini taking the glass. He remembered her scared face. He sighed and decided to ask sorry for his behavior. He called her out and was about to touch her hand but stopped himself remembering his promise. Ragini turned around and saw his hand in mid air and his just washed face. Laksh cleared his throat and took his hand back.
Laksh: Ragini! Actually…I am sorry for yesterday night’s behavior. I…I didn’t meant to Ragini. But…but…(He looked like a kid asking sorry to his mom.) Sorry! Forgive me please.
Ragini was about to smile but stopped herself by coughing. Laksh looked at her concerned and immediately took water and passed it to her. Ragini drank the water while looking at his worried face. She mumbled a small “Thank u” and said: Breakfast is ready. And she went out without responding about Laksh’s apology. Laksh sighed sadly and got ready for office as he needs to go for an important meeting and meet his new client.
He was getting ready for work when he got a call. He didn’t see the caller id and just picked up the call. He was about to greet but that person interrupted. “Good morning Mr. Maheshwari.” Laksh’s face became pale and eyes become dark. At that time Ragini entered and saw Laksh’s reaction. Laksh too saw Ragini so he excused himself and escaped to balcony so that Ragini won’t be suspicious and confused by seeing his reactions. But it’s already late as Ragini noted his reaction and began suspicious.
Laksh glanced towards Ragini and turned again: What do u want?
That man: Mr. Maheshwari or say present Ragini’s husband, I am here to say good news to u.
Laksh gritted his teeth hearing Ragini’s name from his mouth and whisper yelled: What?
That man: We are going to meet officially.
Laksh was shocked to hear and was about to ask more but he cut the call. He noticed that it’s a private number. Laksh became furious and punched the railing of balcony which got shaken by his powerful punch. He ran his fingers through his hair and took deep breath to make himself normal and went inside his room. There Ragini stood before him with arms crossed on her chest with a suspicious look. Laksh knows what was coming but still he gave a nervous smile and said: I am hungry Ragini.
He literally ran out of his room to avoid Ragini’s question. But Ragini was more determined to ask him. So she went to hall and found him already gone towards his car and drove to his office. Ragini thought she should not leave him and confront him about this matter as soon as possible.
At meeting,
“We are going to meet officially!” What does he mean by that? Is he planning to come infront of me? Does he have that much courage to stand infront of me? Nah! He won’t! It may be an empty threat. But he won’t call me unless and until he wanted to do something. I…
Laksh was so much engrossed in his thoughts that he didn’t hear DP saying “Here is our new client, let’s give a big applause and welcome Mr. Chiraag Suresh Modi!”
Soon a man who was at his mid twenties entered the hall having a polite smile. The room suddenly filled with gasps rather than applause sound.
Phew! Finally the long night is over! New villain had entered! Well what can I say more than that?? Haan!
