” Left hand broken…left knee scarped…left foot sprained…even injury on my head is more on left side…this means I have fallen on my left side…what u think Doc?” … asked Ragini casually
Laksh who was writing something on her pad shot a deadly look to her…making her smile slip…
She rested back with a pout…”offo Laksh…how long are u going to keep that balloon face..?”
Laksh didn’t say anything…adjusting stethoscope in his ears started checking her pulse rate…
Ragini sighed…her fiance is a hard nut to crack…he hadn’t spoken a word to her ever since she had opened her eyes…oh u must be wondering what led her to hospital like this…
Well ragini was going to market yesterday on her activa…out of nowhere a bull came and stood in middle of road and due to her speed she couldn’t handle scooty hitting straight into bull…
This is all she remembers…when she opened her eyes she was in hospital with various parts of her body aching…her mother told her she was unconscious for 6 hours…and now due to injury near her spinal cord she has to stay in hospital for 15 days…
Coming out of her thoughts she started at her fiancee cum doctor who is not talking to her since yesterday and she is feeling very sad due to his behaviour…he is angry on her that is not new thing…half of the time he is angry with her but this time he is also giving her silent treatment which is totally not acceptable…
“Dr.laksh Maheshwari are u going to speak something?” She asked irritated with his ignorance…she is his fiancee and right now he should pamper her not ignore…
Laksh continued doing his work not bothering to reply her…Ragini humphed and sat there grumpily…
Sanskar entered in her room quite surprised to not find them involved in some verbal fighting…when Laksh and ragini are together they are hardly silent…from childhood they had been at throats of each other…everyone was shocked is an understatement when Raglak confessed their love to them…but now as he sees them he knew they were always meant to be…
“How’s my darling sister?” He asked happily walking over to ragini…
Ragini grinned seeing him…”bhai!”
Sanskar smiled and cupping her face dropped a kiss on her head…
“Before going for my round I thought of meeting the new patient here…” he grinned making her giggle…
“I hope the doctor here is taking good care of u” he said giving a look to Laksh…he took Ragini’s pad from him and went through it once…
“Bhai..I have one problem” Ragini said glaring at Laksh…
“Tell me…I will solve it” he said smiling…
Ragini smiled at her future brother in law…”I want ur hospital’s most handsome doctor to treat me…not this ugly monster” she said groaning…
Sanskar laughed at her demand…”Sorry sweetheart…but I’m quite busy so I can’t treat u” he winked making ragini burst into laughter…
Laksh shook his head and turned to side table checking all her medicines…
“Oh no…I so wanted u to be my doctor” she said making a sad face…
Sanskar lightly smacked her head…he pointed at Laksh’s back and raised his eyebrows in asking…
Ragini rolled her eyes and made balloon face telling him that he is not talking with her.. Ragini smiled as she gave an annoyed look…
“U scared everyone this time…” he pressed his lips and then in a whisper added…”he was in hell” he sighed as ragini’s face softened and she looked at Laksh who was busy in his work…
“I will meet u later…” Sanskar left from there leaving them to resolve their issues…
Ragini kept looking at Laksh but he didn’t budge…she knew he was well aware of her gaze and was deliberately doing this…
“Hey lucky” she called out for him softly…”say something na..” she pleaded…
Laksh turned to her angrily…”does it matter to u?”
“Laksh”
“No…Thousand times I have told u to drive carefully but do u listen to me? NO…u always want to drive fast and rough…”
“Baby” she tried once again hoping he will calm down but no…
“Don’t u baby me ragini…I am very angry this time” he scoffed…
“U r scolding me like I have bribed that bull to come and stand in middle of road…” she half cried…
“Weren’t u driving fast? Where was ur helmet? If u would have been careful than this accident won’t have been so fatal…” he said accusing her…
She lowered her eyes guiltily…”I am sorry”
“No I am sorry that I love u so much…u know how I felt when u were brought here unconscious and covered in blood…they didn’t let me treat u cz I was an emotional wreck…I was so helpless..” his eyes tore up as he remembered those miserable hours…
Ragini’s eyes glistened seeing him in so much pain “I am very sorry…I promise I will be careful next time”
“Next time…there is no way in hell u r touching that scooty of urs…I am going to hire a full time driver for u…u r not going anywhere alone now”
“But” she opened her mouth to protest but he stared at her…
“Am I clear?” he asked heatedly making her nod her head reluctantly…arguing with him now was equal to playing with fire so she chose to agree with him instead of getting herself in danger…
“Here take this medicine” he ordered extending his hand…without throwing any tantrum she took her medicine…
She held his wrist “Won’t u even hug me now?” She asked making puppy face…
nd finally what felt like a century Laksh smiled and stepping forward hugged her…ragini wound her right arm around his waist hiding her face in crook of his neck…
“I don’t need these bitter medicines…if u will daily hug me like this 5 times a day I will be okay in no time” she grinned making him chuckle…
“I didn’t know u r a doctor too…”
“Yes I am a doctor too…and I prescribe myself 5 hugs from u daily” she smiled brightly…
Laksh laughed and kissed on her forehead…”would u mind if I give u additional kisses too?”
Ragini shook her head..”not at all”
Laksh smiled..”okay now u take rest I will come back after taking my round..” he softly pecked her lips and stood up…
“Laksh” she called him…he turned to her…
“Hmm…”
“I love u” she blew a kiss making him smile…
“I love u too…” he blinked his eyes and left from there…
“Laksh…finally u came I was waiting for u from so long” ragini said flashing her smile…
Laksh walked towards her and sat on the edge of bed…”Why were u waiting for me?”
Ragini pulled out three markers from her blanket and grinned showing him…
“u know when I was a kid, I always wanted a fracture…so that my friends can write messages on cast” she stuck her tongue out…
“u r still a kid” Laksh shook his head…
Ragini narrowed her eyes and gave him a look…”Shut up! take these marker and write something here” she pointed at her cast in left hand…
Laksh took hold of pink marker and looked at her “What I am supposed to write here?” he asked out of clue…
“Offo… Laksh write anything…” she said frowning…
Laksh sighed and was about to write something when she handed him a black marker…”I want my cast to be colorful…so use these 2″ she smiled brightly…
Laksh raised his eyebrow and then got back to writing…in his wobbly handwriting he wrote “Don’t Drive scooty next time”
Ragini frowned seeing it…”Just this” she asked looking up at him…”Write I love u” she ordered furrowing her brows…
Laksh gaped at her but getting her stubborn stare wrote I love u…
“get well soon…write it too” Raginii again said in her orderly tone…”and make cute little hearts” she said once he was done writing…
Laksh made 3 hearts and closing the markers handed it to her…”I am not going to do anything more”
Ragini chuckled seeing his irritated face…she cupped his cheek with her right hand…”aww u r so cute” pulling him closer she kissed on his cheek…
Laksh smiled at her and before he could do or say something his pager beeped…
“There is some emergency I need to go…” he said making her pout…he leaned forward and kissed on her pouty lips…”I will send lunch for u…after eating properly take ur medicines ok?”
Ragini nodded obediently…”and what about my Jaadu ki Jhappi?”
Laksh chuckled and wrapping his arms hugged her heartily…”Get well soon” he dropped a quick kiss on her forehead and left from there picking his stethoscope…
It’s been 5 days Ragini was admitted in hospital…she hadn’t stepped out of her room which was a very big thing for her…she is not the one to sit at one place… Laksh’s chachi would often mock her saying that she has got spring in herself that’s why she can’t settle at one place…
And 5 days and she was glued to this bed…she looked at nurse who was busy in her phone not paying attention to her…taking this as opportunity she carefully slipped out of her bed which was one painful task…with great difficulty she walked out of her room…but now the question was where should she go?
After finishing his all rounds and removing his coat Laksh entered in ragini’s room only to find an empty bed…he looked around but she was nowhere…his eyes fell on nurse who was foolishly grinning looking at something in her mobile…
“Kavya” he shouted petrifying her…she looked at him scared…”Where is ragini?” he asked gritting his teeth…
Kavya looked at empty bed and then back at Laksh…”must be in washroom” she moved towards washroom…
Laksh crossed his arms and looked at her as she turned towards him…”she is not here” she said gulping hard…
“u were given the duty of looking after ragini…not to play on ur blo*dy mobile…” he yelled scaring her…
“I am sorry sir…she must be somewhere near…I…” she started blabbering…
Laksh fisted his hand controlling his anger…”Go and find her…it’s not good for her to stress her body” he ordered…”and ask ward boys to look for her too” he added..
Kavya quickly ran out of room whereas Laksh walked in other direction to look out for her himself…this girl will surely be death of him…even though she is half broken she can’t sit at one place…he thought ruffling his hair…
Ragini laughed wholeheartedly sitting among the kids…she was telling them some of her stories…cracking jokes…she was finally feeling happy otherwise sitting in that room was making her feel more sick than she was…
“What happened then di?” one cute little girl asked her…
“Then what…I made ur Dr.laksh do sit ups as a punishment” she said smirking…
“Haww!!!!That sadu did sit ups?” One other kid asked…
Ragini chuckled…”Hey!!!!He is not sadu…he is a doctor and he has to strict otherwise no one will follow their medication properly…” she said defending her fianc..
All kids nodded agreeing with her but their moment was disturbed by a roaring voice…
“RAGINI” Laksh shouted standing at doorway…taking two long strides he crossed the room and stood in front of her folding his arms…he was so angry on her but he controlled himself from shouting at her looking at already frightened kids…
“La.. Laksh” ragini stammered…she could totally see the rage in his eyes…she knows she has to brace herself for a cyclone that was going to hit her…
“What the hell are u doing here?” Laksh asked keeping his voice as even as possible…
Ragini tried to give him a big smile…”Good u came…I was just narrating them the story of our first date and how u were late!” she said forcing a laughter thinking that he will ease up but in return she only got cold stare…
“it’s late everyone on ur beds now” he said keeping his eyes fixed at ragini…
Ragini stared at him frightened…without doing any argument she carefully stood up and in the process a low groan escaped her mouth due to pain in her back…in next instant she was carried by laksh in his arms…he took her back to her room without uttering any word…
Once she was settled on bed Laksh stood there piercing in her with his gaze… Ragini sat keeping her head down like a baby who was caught stealing chocolates…
“Care to explain what were u thinking when u left from here?” Laksh said coldly…
Ragini sat silent not speaking anything…
“do u realize how dangerous it is for u to walk at this moment…the injury near ur spine might not be major but ur carelessness can cost very much to us!” he carried on scolding her… Laksh frowned when she didn’t fought back with him…he continued a little more harshly trying to get a reaction from her…”I was so worried on not finding u here…anything could have happened ragini…ur body is not strong enough right now…if not for urself at least think about me and other people who love u” his frown deepened when she didn’t reacted this time too…
“Ragini…” he said little softly now…
She muttered a feeble sorry keeping her head down…he sighed…without even looking at her face he knew it was the time for his total mad and bubbly fiancee to cry…but he won’t apologize this time…she is at fault…her little adventure today could have landed them in a bigger problem…
He settled himself on edge of bed and held her hand…”we all love u so much and we all care for u…” he said tenderly making her look at him…and that’s when stream of tears dribbled her cheeks…
Laksh wiped her tears with his thumb…but her tears weren’t stopping…
“I am so messed up…” she hiccupped…
Laksh sighed and pulled her in his embrace…”I know baby it’s not easy” he said softly…
“I hate being in hospital…I feel sicker…I don’t like it here…” she sniffed…
“Just few days more ragini…once u will be fine u will be discharged…u need care and proper medical attention which is not possible at home…” he tried making her understand…
Ragini pulled away from him angrily…”I understand everything okay…but do u understand anything?”
“Ragini..” he tried pulling her back to him but she repulsed and sat looking at him stubbornly…
“my head hurts…my hand hurts…my back hurts…I am glued to this horrible bed…I have to eat that tasteless food…I am wearing these boring clothes…I look so ugly…” she whined…”Do u know how useless I feel…?” she said giving an anguish cry…
Laksh cupped her cheek…”U r not useless…u r just not well…stop thinking bad about urself…” he said staring in her eyes…
Ragini blinked her eyes feeling a bit calmed…”and what about ugly? Do I look ugly?” she asked pouting…
Laksh chuckled…”no u don’t look ugly…but I definitely not like seeing u like this…” he said seriously…
“Only this much!” Ragini furrowed her brows…
Laksh looked at her confusingly…”What?”
Ragini humphed…”U were supposed to say so many things to make me feel good but u…huh…”
“Baby u know i’m not good with words… I’m not the one to express” he said making baby face..
Ragini gave him a sharp look…”ohh… Don’t try that on me…u r very expressive when it comes to ur anger…u never fail in going all angry young man over me…” she said crossly
Laksh scratched his temple not knowing what to say…”all those male protagonist in ur novels are angry young man…u don’t seem to dislike them” he said cheekily…
Ragini narrowed her eyes…”oh don’t u compare urself to them…they are the sweetest and always doing things to express their love…unlike u”
nd this was the time for laksh to narrow his eyes…”ya right! I’m the worst…so why don’t u marry one of them…why to waste time on me?” he looked away angrily…
Ragini bit her tongue and looked at him…”Though the offer is tempting…nothing can be done now… I’m already engaged to u” she teased him a bit more…
“oh….So u r actually thinking to leave me!” he said accusing her making her burst into laughter…
“No my sweet lucky…” she pulled his cheek…”Remember when we were small u always used to shout on me and tell me to stay away from u…but I never listened to u…I was always there irritating u…teasing u…and angering u…I never left u then so why would I leave now?” she raised her brows playfully making him smile…
“u still irritate, tease and angry me” he said chuckling…
Ragini smirked…”Still u Love me…”
“Because u love me too…” he pinched her nose…they both laughed and hugged each other…
After making ragini sleep comfortably in her bed Laksh left from there with a plan working in his head…he will prove her he is better than any fictional character of her novels
“Rise and shine sleepy head” Laksh’s voice boomed in ragini’s ears…she groaned and pulled her covers as sunlight fell on her…
Laksh sat in front of her and removed her covers…”Wake up…Mom has sent breakfast for u and then u have to take medicines too..”
“5 more minutes…”
“No.. the kids are waiting for u” he said pulling her into arms n took to washroom…
Ragini looked at him wide eyed…”What do u mean?”
“oh I forgot to tell u…u are going to teach children that crazy art u do..” he opened her mouth and brushed her teeth…
“u mean paper-art” she asked once he was done…
Laksh wiped her face with towel “Yes Paper-art!” he placed her back on bed…”Dad was going to call…”
“U planned it for me na…!” she grinned cutting him between…
Laksh sheepishly nodded…”And this too…” he said gesturing towards room…
nd that is when Arohi noticed her whole room was decorated with flowers
“u have to wear these clothes I can’t do anything so to make them little interesting…” he pinned two small yellow emojis on her shirt…one was winking and other was grinning…
She looked at Laksh as her eyes turned teary…pulling him closer she placed her lips on his and kissed him soundly pouring all the love for him…
“I take everything is liked by u…”
“u r the best…Thank u thank u thank u” she started kissing him all over face…
“u can thank me later…” he pushed her away…”Ur students are waiting for u Mam” he said making her smile…
“yes! I’m so excited…I will teach them to make such cool stuff” her excitement dripping in her voice…
“Ragini… u have to promise me that u won’t compromise with ur health and exaggerate urself…”

Ragini returned in evening after having a gala time with kids…she wheeled herself towards bed…the nurse came in time and helped her in settling on bed…she then handed her the food plate…ragini scrunched her nose on seeing it…after such a happening day she has to eat this boring food…
Her attention was caught by opening of door…she looked above and found Laksh entering in…she smiled widely on seeing him…he returned her smile with a small one…
“u can go” he told nurse and once she was gone sat in front of ragini…”okay! I asked bhai to let me take u out for dinner but he denied…” he said in one breath making ragini smile at him in awe…
“it’s ok lucky…this food is not that bad” she said smiling encouragingly…
“but I didn’t say we are not going” he smirked…
“What do u mean…?” she frowned…
“pssht!” he kept aside the plate taking from her…and then in one swift motion picked her in arms…
“Laksh what are u doing?” she asked surprised…
“wait and watch” he whispered huskily in her ear…
Ragini pouted suppressing the butterflies that fluttered in her stomach due to his husky voice…
Laksh took her out of hospital from back door where his car was already parked…after making her sit securely in bed he ignited the car and went to her favorite restaurant…
“Laksh” she whispered nervously to him…”I can’t go like this in here…people will think I have come running from mental asylum”
Laksh burst out laughing…”u r seriously pagal”
Ragini gave him an angry look…”this is serious problem” she said furiously…
Laksh pulled her in his comforting arms…”let people think what they want…we are here for our dinner”
“Exactly we are here for dinner and not for entertaining people” she scowled…
“so what u suggest” he asked looking at her…
Ragini thought for a while and then grinned…”I suggest get our food packed…and then we can eat it somewhere only we are”
Laksh agreed with her having no other choice…
After having their dinner in an old park and eating ice cream they both returned to hospital…
“u pick me up like I weigh nothing” she giggled as he placed her comfortably on her bed back again…
Laksh smiled…”gyming all these years is proving fruitful now”
Ragini laughed…”What if bhai came to know about this little trip” she asked naughtily…
“it will be out little secret” he winked…”Now go to sleep…u have done a lot today” he pecked her lips softly…
Ragini stretched her arms…”My jhappi?” she said making a baby face…
Laksh shook his head and hugged her tightly…
“Laksh”
“hmm”
“u love me na…”
“what give u that idea…?” he said rolling his eyes…
Ragini punched him lightly in abdomen…”U.LOVE.ME.”
“Ouch…. yes I do love u” he said chuckling…”but I won’t take u out tomorrow…u will have to eat hospital’s food” he said making her pout…
“It’s not good for ur health to eat spicy food…get well first then I will myself take u anywhere u wish” he caressed her cheek with back of his hand making her smile…
“I Love U” she gave a loud peck on his cheek…
“well I know that…” he smirked making her giggle and hit on his chest..
