Ramayan fame Dipika Chikhlia’s reel earns a lot of love; netizens draw comparisons to Adipurush

Dipika Chikhlia who is best known for her role as Sita Maa receives the same level of adoration and respect for her portrayal of Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan as she did during the iconic series. With the recent release of Adipurush, netizens have drawn comparisons between the two, expressing their concerns about the film’s depiction of Hanuman and Ravan’s dialogues using Tapori slang, which some feel mocks the religious epic.

In response to public demand, she recently took to her Instagram account and shared a reel in which she reprised her beloved character of Sita Mata. Accompanying the reel, she wrote, “This post is on public demand… I am grateful for the love I have always received for the role I played… Me… as Sitaji… could not have asked for more.”

Fans were overwhelmed by the reel and flooded the comments section with love and appreciation. One user remarked, “Your reel will overshadow the entire Adipurush film,” while another emphasized Dipika’s irreplaceability in the role of Sita, stating, “No one can replace you as Sita ji.” There was also mention of the emotional connection viewers feel towards her portrayal, with a user expressing, “We are emotionally connected to you… Whenever we think of Mother Sita, only you come to mind… Always respect… Jai Shree Ram.”

During the film’s theatrical release, fans also requested the rerun of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan on Doordarshan, citing the need for a “National Detox” from the perceived disappointment of Adipurush. One user wrote, “Doordarshan should immediately start airing Ramanand Sagar ji’s Ramayan for a ‘National Detox’ from the epic disaster called #AadiPurush.”
