Zee Tv’s new show Sethji is about Ahilya Devi, who is regarded as Sethji, after fulfilling lots of duties towards her village. She takes tough decisions and also punishes people when needed. She is strong, yet a soft hearted person. She has taken an oath to protect her village from the approaching curse. The villagers swears to not cross the border of her village and not allow any outsider inside her village. They make a self sustaining world, with no hindrance and contacts from others.
Devsu village gets deprived of all the modern amenities and technology because of their decision. The woman who holds authority and responsibilities in hand, is much respected by everyone. She is called the Sethji of Devsu village. She manages everything single handedly after her husband disappeared. The contradictory character Pragati is born and raised in city. She is educated and smart girl. She comes to become a part of Devsu village. Pragati puts light on the modern living. The show brings a struggle and perceptions of Ahilya and Pragati. Ahilya keeps up traditions followed in the village since many decades, while Pragati wants to introduce new cultural trends and transformations happening in the world.
