I finally escape from my monster of a father, I call him monster because what he did to me, I don’t wish on any girl to suffer the way I did.
When I was 6 year old my mother wanted to take me away from my father. They were arguing, he said he was going to throw acid on her face if she left. She didn’t believe he would do that but he did in front of my eyes. That was the first time I felt fear for my monster of a father. My mother couldn’t look at herself so she killed herself and left me alone with the monsters.
Badi maa is monster too, when I was 10 she gave me pill said it will make me feel better, I took the pill it made me feel unconscious. When I woke up, I was bleeding in my private part it was hurting too. I told Badi maa, she said I was having my period as an idiot I believed her.
It was at the age of 13 when I realize my father was raping me. I felt something was wrong so I decided to pretend taking pill, I pretend I was sleeping, my monster of a father came to my room, He was trying to take my clothes off, I scream at his and ask him what he was doing in my room. He said he’s been having s*x with me since I was 10. I was shocked, I realize Badi maa was in it to. I told him to leave, he left only to come back with my dog Meetu. He said he would kill my dog if I didn’t obey him. I knew he would kill my dog, I felt helpless, I let him do what he wanted. When he was done, I went in the shower trying to clean myself but all I felt was dirty. I was crying I felt helpless and ashamed.
I confronted Badi maa and ask her how she can do this to me, she said a girl is to give pleasure to men even if its a father. I felt discussed with her words. I told her that she is not a good mother no wonder she lost her other son. She got angry and slapped me. She told me to go to my room, and wait for my father and do what he says or else you know what he’ll do to your dog Meetu.
The abuse wen on I had nobody to help me. I couldn’t tell my teacher or my friends. They would threaten me if I tell anyone they would kill my dog.
It was at the age of 19 that I found out I was pregnant with my fathers child. I felt like ending my life, I was going to do that but one man came and saved me his name was Prem Malhotra.
He told me it was wrong to kill myself when I was pregnant. I was angry I blurted out the whole truth. He was shocked after hearing my story. I told him let me die, I have nobody who can save me from those monster. He said consider me as your brother, I will save you. I told him they will kill you, he said he would take the risk if I can be free from those monster then he will gladly die. He ask me what my fathers name is I told him Suraj Oberi. He told me he is a reporter and he is investigating on my father, I ask him what did he do, Prem told me that my father was human trafficking young girls, drugging them and using them for s*x he was trying to collect evidence but he can’t get in the security is too tight. I told him you can record my story.
When I came back home, they killed my dog. Badi maa said if you leave this house again we can do worse things to you. You are not allowed to go out until the baby isn’t born or else you know what we did to your mother. I cried they took away the best thing from me my dog Meetu and now they were threating to throw acid on me, I had enough, I decided I would play there game.
I need to get my passport from Badi maa some how. I was waiting for the right time. The right time came when I heard my father was going to the farm house and was taking Nandini. I never met Nandini but I heard that she was pregnant. I thought my monster of a father probably did the same thing that he does to me.
When my monster of father left, I took my chance, I put sleeping pills in the chai, Badi maa drank the chai and fell in a deep sleep. I took the key under the pillow, then I open the locker and took my passport. As planned I went to Prem brothers house. I didn’t know one of my fathers man was following me and telling it to my monster of a father.
When I got to his house he was not alone, he had his two year old son (Arjun) with him, he said his wife had some errands to do and left the little boy with him. He gave me a train ticket and a fake passport with the name Mala Gupta, he said with my original name they would trace me but with my new name I could be free. I hugged my brother and said thank you. That was when my father and his men came. I was scared for Prem brother and the little boy, I could tell from his signal that he wanted me to take his son away from this. Prem brother was distracting them, I took the boy from the back door and then I started running, I heard the gun shot and knew that my monster of a father killed my brother Prem. I couldn’t go back I was afraid that they would harm the little boy. I wish I could give the boy to his mother but it was too dangerous, so the only thing I could think of was putting the boy at the orphanage at least he would be safe there. I felt guilty for separating the boy from his mother but what choice did I have.
After I left the boy at the orphanage, I went straight to the train station wearing a burka, I saw my monster of a father searching for me, he went to the ticket boy to ask if Maya was in the train, he said there was no Maya. Then my father left the train station, that was the last time I saw him.
When the train started moving, I was going in labor luckily there was midwife, she was here for the other lady who was going in labor too After 2 hours of labor, I gave birth to a boy a stillborn baby. The lady said I’m sorry your baby is dead. I told the lady I’m glad it’s dead, I told her how it was conceived the lady cried for me and said don’t give up god will heal everything. I ask her what do you mean? She goes to the other side to bring the baby boy to me, she says that the baby’s mother died and that the baby is weak, It need milk since I can provide that. I said what would the baby’s father think, she said he is okay with that, I gave milk to the baby and then I gave it to the midwife, she gave the child back to the father. The mid wife said I had to go with the baby’s father to Rishikesh. She said I will introduce you to the baby’s father. I said hi my name is Mala Gupta and he said his name is Dilip Mishra…..
