Malini turns to go… Kalyani suddenly calls out, ” Di!” Malini turns back and asks, ” What?”

” I forgot to tell you something di…”

“Yes, tell me, is something bothering you?”

“No, no, that is something regarding your wedding”

“What?” Malini asks turning serious.

“Di, Mr. Lawyer had come here today and he said that….”

” Mr. Lawyer?” Malini laughs, ” Mr. Lawyer, Kunal Chauhan..yes what did he say, he must have made you and mom laugh a lot like always.” 😂

“Yes, di, but he said that he won’t be able to attend your wedding.”

“WHAT? WHY? Did he exactly say that?”

“Yes, di he said the same.”

” Ummmm….why doesn’t he wish to attend? may be he is upset about something, I’ll talk to him once tomorrow. Afterall, both my best friends should be present during my wedding! But wait, why tomorrow? 🤔let me call him right now”

” Di, di, one more thing, he said that aunty needs to undergo some operation….. The date of the operation given by the doctor is the same as your marriage day, hence he won’t be able to attend.”

“Operation? Aunty looked fine to me. Is it something serious?”

” Some eye operation perhaps….”

“Oh! Hmmm…😒😒😒 After dropping you to your exam centre, I will go and meet them once tomorrow! Now you sleep😴😴it’s quite late and tomorrow you have to wake up early.”

JAIPUR GOLDEN HOSPITAL, NOIDA

It’s morning, Imlie is sleeping on the hospital bed with her hands in the hands of her mother, Meethi is snoozing😪😪 sitting on a chair by her side, days of bright sunlight enlightens their face.

Meethi opens her eyes, she looks at Imlie. Aditya comes there and says, “Imlie will get discharged now, the doctor has given some medicines Aunty you must make sure that she regularly takes these.” Meethi looks tensed.

“What happened Aunty?”

“Beta, I don’t have any money to pay to the hospital….. Neither can I pay for the medicines….. I am not even educated…. How will I understand which medicine to give her at which time and how many times? What if I mistakenly give her the wrong medicine?”

“Aunty, why are you worried? I have paid the hospital fees and purchased the medicines as well. She met with an accident due to my bike. It was my responsibility to help her.”

Meethi looks at him teary eyed and says, “Thankyou thankyou beta🥺🥺🥺 Itna bada ehsaan karke use apna kartavya bata rahe hain🙏aur na jaane….na jaane humne aapko jaane anjaane mein kitna kucchh bura bhala sunaya hoga,  ho sake toh Hume maaf kardijiyega beta🙏🙏aapka upkaar rahega hum par, bhagwaan aapke jaisa beta har maa ko dein🙏🙏” 

(English translation: Thankyou, thankyou son, you did such a big favour on us but still you say that it was your responsibility, and I have abused or scolded you knowingly or unknowingly, if possible, please forgive me for that🙏🙏 we will be obliged to you, may God bless every mother with such a son.) 

Imlie is awake now. She is listening to all this conversation. She somehow tries to sit up and says, ” Ma, you need not take anyone’s favour, I will ask about these medicines to Doctor. She will explain it to me. And about the payment and all….”

“You don’t need to worry for that, it was my responsibility, I fulfilled it. Come, I will drop you and Aunty ji to your home.”

“WE DON’T NEED YOUR FAVOUR AT ANY COST MR. WHATEVER!  we will repay your money right now anyhow! please tell me the charges incurred by you.”

Aditya is looking at Imlie, he is shocked and thinks, ” Ye kis se paala par gaya, pehle aunty ji pata nahi muje koi Dev Sharma vagairah samajh ke mujh par bhadki Hui thi aur ab ye ladki. Ehsaan nahi lenge!🤷🤷🤷”   

(English translation: Where have I been trapped? Before Aunty was firing me repeatedly by thinking of me as Dev Sharma and now this girl. Won’t take favours!) 

He looks at Imlie’s force face and says, ” Fifteen thousand rupees.”

Imlie and Meethi are shocked Imlie says, ” FIFTEEN THOUSAND! PLEASE SHOW ME THE BILL. HOW COME THE CHARGE INCURRED IS THIS MUCH.” 

Aditya gives Imlie the bill. Imlie is astonished. Aditya looks at her and smiles😏😏😏 Imlie says, ” No need to take favor of this proudy Mister Ma, I think we must be having atleast fifteen thousand in our bank account, let’s give it to him.”

Aditya is surprised he thinks, “Bhalai ka toh zamana hi nhi Raha.” 🤷🤷 

(English translation: The era of goodness is no more) 

Meethi says, “But gudiya, we need money for our survival as well, I have so hardly been collecting money for your admission in college, how can I give it all away……?”  Suddenly, some thought strikes Meethi’s mind and she stops. She then turns to Aditya and asks, “Can you take us to your home beta?”

Aditya and Imlie look on in surprise.😕😧😧😦😦
