Restaurateur Zorawar Kalra on being a part of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10; says, “I’m representing the common man who wants to learn to dance”

Dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has returned with its latest season where celebs are battling it out on the dance field. Amidst the popular faces, Restaurateur Zorawar Kalra is also one of the participants in the show. Zorawar rose to fame with his stint as the host of Masterchef India.

During a recent interview with BT, Zorawar was asked why he decide to take up a dance reality show, Zorawar replied, “Just like food, dance is a form of art. I always enjoy taking on new challenges. Dancing isn’t something I’m even remotely familiar with, but I do know that if I put in the time and effort, I can achieve the desired result. My natural competitive spirit will take over.”

He added, “I believe that life is about learning new things and accepting new challenges. I’m happy doing what I do, but participating in a dance show is bringing me out of my comfort zone. And, in my opinion, it requires great courage. I’m taking it all as a challenge. By the time I am out of the show, I would have learned the art of dancing, that’s what I am aiming for. Dance is one of the oldest art forms, and is a great way to express yourself.”

When asked if he feels left out at times as the other contestants are popular actors, Zorawar said “Not at all. I’m representing the common man who wants to learn dance. Here, I’m not a competition to anyone, but everyone is my competition. I’m trying my best to learn as much as I can while I’m on the show.”
