Reyaansh Vir Chadha Dives into Bollywood with ‘Khichdi 2’: Balancing Comedy, Challenges, and Growth

Television actor Reyaansh Vir Chadha, known for his stint in the TV show “Dil Diyaan Gallaan,” has marked his entry into the world of cinema with “Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan.” In the film, he portrays the character of Wazir, Flora Saini’s love interest, and shares his excitement about making a big-screen debut. Reyaansh emphasizes the significance of his character in the narrative, stating, “The debut has been exciting because the character is an integral part of the narrative, and the storyline would seem incomplete without it.”

Reyaansh reveals that his journey into “Khichdi 2” took an unexpected turn. Initially in talks for a web show with the production house, the plans didn’t materialize. However, Aatish Kapadia, the director, reached out to him and narrated the storyline of “Khichdi.” After auditioning for the role, Reyaansh was delighted to bag the film.

Working alongside seasoned actors like Anang Desai, Supriya Pathak, Vandana Pathak, and Rajeev Mehta, renowned for their impeccable comic timing, posed a challenge for Reyaansh. Reflecting on the experience, he shares, “Apart from being supremely talented, these actors are extremely humble, too. They made me feel at home and part of the team from the word go. We would rehearse and improvise throughout the shoot, and their additions to the scenes would crack me up all the time. They made my journey easier. Besides, you get to learn so much by just watching them. So, I feel it was a blessing to work with them as you also grow as an actor and human.”

Venturing into the comedy genre in the film, Reyaansh acknowledges the difficulty associated with it. He states, “I think comedy is a challenging genre to crack, but when the script is well-written, it makes it easy for an actor to perform. The trick is not to try too hard because when you do that, your jokes can fall flat.”

As Reyaansh makes his foray into Bollywood, he affirms that he won’t be limiting himself to films alone. He expresses, “I won’t take a break from anything. I look for promising work, be it TV, Films, or OTT.”
