Reyhna Pandit Bids Farewell to Her Three-Year Stint as Aaliya in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’
In a significant development, Reyhna Pandit, the talented actress currently gracing our screens in Kumkum Bhagya, has decided to part ways with the popular TV series. Her portrayal of Aaliya, a character she has brought to life for nearly three years, has garnered both acclaim and a dedicated fan following. This pivotal role was originally portrayed by Shikha Singh before Reyhna took the reins.
Speaking about her decision in a recent interview, Reyhna shared, “I’ve dedicated almost three years to portraying Aaliya. However, my character’s storyline took a backseat around February 2023, leading to a hiatus of 2-3 months. When I returned in May, I began to realize that there wasn’t much left to explore creatively. I’m eager to take on more challenging roles that push my boundaries. Therefore, it was a conscious decision to step away. I’m grateful to the show’s makers for entrusting me with the role of Aaliya; it’s been a rewarding journey. Yet, after three years, I felt I had given my best, and it was time for a new chapter.”
Reyhna Pandit is now on the lookout for exciting opportunities, be it as a villainous character or any other pivotal role. She expressed, “When I took up Kumkum Bhagya, I was simultaneously working on Manmohini, a role that pushed me to my limits. I aspire to take on roles that are integral to the show’s narrative. As for playing positive or negative characters, I don’t have a preference; what matters most is the depth and significance of the character. Vamp roles hold importance in TV series, and I relish them when they play a central role in the storyline.”
