SSR’s death case has become more complicated that one could even imagine. Rhea Chakraborty continues to remain in Byculla jail after she was recently arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for being involved in the transactions of drugs and being in contact with the drug peddlers.
The Jalebi actress’ bail plea has already been rejected by Mumbai’s sessions court twice as the special judge GB Gurao stated that Rhea Chakraborty could tamper with evidence if released on bail. Now, a recent report by a leading entertainment portal reveals that the Bombay High Court is scheduled to hear the bail pleas of three individuals arrested by the NCB under drug charges.
The HC will reportedly hear Rhea Chakraborty’s associate, Samuel Miranda, the actor’s personal staff Dipesh Sawant and alleged drug peddler Abdul Basit Parihar at around 3 pm today, 18th September.
However, considering the current scenario, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty’s bail plea has been rejected and they will continue to be in custody.
The actress is currently incarcerated at Byculla jail women’s facility and is expected to remain there in custody till 22nd September. On the other hand, Showik Chakraborty’s bail application was opposed by the NCB on the grounds of Rhea mentioning his name in her statement, indicating that he “is an active member of a drug syndicate connected with drug supplies”.
