Ronit Bose Roy who is all set to return to the small screen with the upcoming show, Swaran Ghar, was on a break from the small screen. The actor was last seen in Adaalat 2 which aired in 2016.
In a recent interview with ETimes TV, Ronit talked about why he chose to stay away from TV for so long. “TV started getting too repetitive and there was no progressiveness. There was a mismatch in the way they were doing programming and my sensibilities as I was evolving as a human being and an actor. I did another stint for a channel two and a half, three years back. I was expecting a lot from that role. Again, it didn’t work out the way I thought it would,” he said.
He added, “This time I am very proud to say that I accepted this role on narration over the phone. Then I fought a lot to bring the part to what I had interpreted it as. I am lucky to have a co-star like Sangita Ghosh, a director, and a team that understood that we need to put in that extra bit. I am extremely happy with this outing of mine on television. It’s a short portrayal but the character has a lot to say in a very short time.”
Swaran Ghar will be replacing Balika Vadhu 2 as the latter failed to live up to the expectations and was eventually pulled off air due to low TRPs. Talking about it Ronit said, “I have never worried about TRPs. I am not a rat, so I don’t run the race. I stand singular. I have a craft and I have people who appreciate the craft. Slowly, I am seeing that the pack of people who appreciate my craft is growing. Touching one heart a day that’s good enough for me. My art is to touch hearts. I am not a number guy.”
