Rupal Patel opens up on rumours of her signing the prequel to Saathiya; says, I won’t take up any project until I am fully vaccinated

Rupal Patel, who is best known for essaying the role of Kokilaben in the TV show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, quit the show’s second season in November 2020. In a recent interview with BT she talks about the reason behind that and says, “When the show started, I wasn’t approached for it. At that time, I was part of Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. I never wanted to do Saathiya because I don’t take on multiple projects at the same time. Plus, both the sets were far away from each other. Later, when they said that the audience wants to see Kokilaben back on screen, I decided to be a part of the show for a month. After that, I quit.”

Talking about how she keep herself busy these days, she said, “I am at home and have decided not to up any show as of now. By God’s grace, I am getting offers, but I haven’t taken up anything because after my show ends, I like to take a short break to rejuvenate my batteries. Apart from that, I am yet to take the second dose of the vaccine. I will get back to work only after that. I will be taking my dose at the end of June and hope to take up another TV project post that. I have always done strong characters and will continue to play such roles. My viewers also like me playing those kinds of roles,”

The actress further adds, “I am a very simple person and love being at home. It’s a blessing in disguise that I am at home and being a religious person, I like performing pooja and aarti. These things take up my time. I am glad to be spending time with my family, especially my son, who is also working from home. I am enjoying this break. When I resume work, I will have more energy and enthusiasm.”

Talking about the prequel of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya her being a part of it, she said,  “As I said earlier, I won’t take up any project until my second dose of vaccination is done. And I am not aware of this development as of now.”
