Rupali Ganguly Shares Heartwarming Moment as Son Rudransh Performs Ganesh Chaturthi Puja for the First Time

Renowned actress Rupali Ganguly, beloved for her role in Anupamaa, recently opened up about her cherished tradition of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi for 34 years and how this year marked a special milestone as her son, Rudransh, took part in Bappa’s puja for the very first time.

In a heartwarming message to her fans, Rupali extended her warm wishes, saying, “Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to everyone. May you all experience the same happiness, positivity, love, and health at home that everyone desires.”

Reflecting on her preparations for Ganesh Chaturthi, Rupali shared, “The preparations remain much the same. Honestly, even before Anupamaa became a part of my life, I used to put in a lot of effort for Ganesh Chaturthi. I would venture to Dadar market at night to procure flowers, kanthi (sacred thread), and everything else. I grew up in Marathi culture, and for 34 years, we have been welcoming Bappa into our home. We still have the same Bhatt ji who performs the puja. Nowadays, with the building aging, Bhatt ji’s daughter-in-law conducts the ritual via video call. Things have evolved, and people have adapted over time.”

Sharing cherished childhood memories, Rupali reminisced, “A lot has transformed in these 34 years of welcoming Bappa into our home. In the earlier days, my father used to bring the idol, and my brother and I would dance and sing ‘Ganpati bappa morya.’ Later, my father’s health declined, and my brother took on the responsibility of bringing the idol. Eventually, he moved to Canada, and I took over the tradition. Now, despite my father no longer being with us, we continue this ritual.”

Rupali also expressed her excitement about her son Rudransh participating in the rituals for the first time, saying, “This year marked the first time my son performed the Ganpati Puja. Although he was not familiar with all the rituals, he made a sincere effort. He said, ‘Mom, it’s my first time,’ and I encouraged him, saying, ‘Rudransh, hurry up and do things.’ He replied, ‘I’m sorry, Mom, I’m a bit slow.’ It was an incredibly sweet and heartwarming moment to witness him following the traditions, and my brother was also there. It’s beautiful how things change with time.”

Sharing her thoughts on celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with the Anupamaa team, Rupali expressed her gratitude, saying, “This is the fourth year that we’ve welcomed Bappa on the set of Anupamaa. So, both my homes have Bappa. I want to extend my gratitude to all those who have made me Anupamaa and showered me with love. You have inspired me to always give my best to the show. There may be storylines in the show that not everyone likes, but the fact that you’ve stuck with Anupamaa is something I deeply appreciate. I will forever be thankful for your support.”
