The wedding day arrived. Bhavani couldn’t sleep very well the previous night do to her excitement. Gaura was also excited, do to her plans were going very well. She even decided to talk to kokila and show some fake concern for Gopi.
This morning, Gaura had gotten up earlier than usual. She quickly got dressed and went to the Modis.
Kokila opened the door and invited her in. She seemed really sad and her eyes looked like she hasn’t slept in days.
“Jai Ambe Kokila.” Gaura said. “how are you? I see you are not fine. But don’t worry, Gopi’s condition will improve.”
“Gaura, thanks for coming to see me so early. My family is still sleeping but I got earlier because I want to go to the hospital to be with Gopi. She must wake up today, right? Please Gaura, tell me she will finally wake up!”
“She will, my friend. You only have to believe. I can’t come with you for I have some really important things to do at home. But otherwise I would go with you, you know. Please tell me when Gopi’s condition improves.”
“But, Gaura, if she doesn’t survive? If she dies then… Then what will I do without her? Everyone will think I am a murderer. Everyone will say I killed my bahu! How will I live with such a sin, Gaura, please tell me!”
“Don’t talk like that, Kokila. Gopi is a strong woman, don’t you know? She will wake up soon, I am sure in that. You will not be a murderer. She will forgive you. She knows you didn’t push her intently.”
“May it be as you say. I really wish your words to come true.”
“Everything will be alright, just give it some time. I have to go now. If there’s any change please tell me.”
“Alright. I will tell you.”
And then, Gaura left and went back to the Suryavanshis. Bhavani was getting ready for the wedding. The guests were there as well. Vidya and Shravan were not very happy with this situation but they had no choice.
And Dharam seemed sad on the outside, but in the inside he was very angry with Bhavani and he was trying his best not to confront her earlier than he had to.
“Bhavani, how are you feeling today?” Gaura asked.
“I am very happy, Gaura behen?” Bhavani replied. “Today my biggest dream will come true! I still can’t believe all of this is a reality!”
“Yes, it is. You have to be thankful to me your whole life.”
And some time later, the wedding was over. Dharam and Bhavani were now married.
“You will never replace my sister Meera!” Vidya said to Bhavani.
“Oh, please, Vidya.” Bhavani replied. “Today is my happiest day ever and no one will take away my happiness.”
“Dharamji, how are you?” Bhavani said to Dharam.
“Bhavani, you know why I agreed to this marriage. I hope you will not forget what you promised me.”
“No, I will never forget it.”
“And you will know that I will never have any feelings for you. I only love Meera and no one else.”
“But Dharamji, how can you love someone that has left you on their own?”
“Bhavani, stop it! Meera is not such a girl, she will never leave me!”
“What? What happened all of a sudden that you began to protect her again?”
“Bhavani, stop pretending already! I know that you kidnapped Meera! You have kidnapped her in order to get yourself married for me! Tell me where do you keep her?”
Bhavani was very surprised by these words. And when Gaura heard this fight, she immediately sensed how things would go and left the house without no one to see her. She would go and bring Meera back.
“Bhavani, tell us immediately where do you keep my sister!” Vidya shouted.
“What are you saying? I didn’t do anything to Meera, what kidnapping are you talking about?”
Baaji told me that you have kidnapped Meera in order to be the bahu of this house and take her place! But that is never going to happen, we will find out where do you keep Meera and then you will be jailed!”
“Wait what? Gaura behen has told you that I have kidnapped Meera?”
“Yes, maa told us exactly that.” Dharam continued.
And then, to everyone’s shock, Meera appeared.
“Dharamjiiiiii!” She shouted and tears began falling from her eyes. “I missed you so much and you! You have agreed to marry this woman Bhavani! I know everything, Gaura baaji told me how she has blackmailed you but anyway, you shouldn’t have agreed to this marriage! Baaji would find another way to set me free, I will never forgive you for that!”
“Meera, you are fine!” Vidya said and hugged her sister. “We are so happy!”
“Vidya, you may be happy, But Dharamji is certainly not!He will now enjoy the time with his new wife!”
“Gaura behen, why have you told Meera such things? You know I did not kidnap her, why did you lie to her?”
But Gaura remained silent.
“Bhavani, shut up!” Meera said. “Do not deny that you kidnapped me! I was asleep and you took advantage of that! I remember how the last night I was here, after dinner I felt tired and fell asleep earlier than usual! It’s all your fault, I am sure!”
“Meera, wait a minute! I am not talking to you now, I asked Gaura behen a question! Why don’t you answer me?” Bhavani pointed at Gaura. “Why have you lied to Meera? You told me you have kidnapped her and only you know where is she?”
“What?” Dharam said. “Maa, have you really done that?”
“No, Dharam, she is lying.” Gaura said.
“Dharamji, I love you with all my heart and I will never lie to you! She told me she keeps Meera in a secret place and she told me this way me and you will marry while Meera is away! She called me and asked me to come here. I lived in her room for the first few days and that’s why you did not understand that I am here. She asked me to cover my face in order for no one to recognize me if you randomly see me here before I had showed you I am here. Please believe me, Dharamji, I am telling the truth! It seems like your mother is playing some games with us again!”
“Maa, is that true?”
“Dharam, what are you saying?” Gaura said and then fainted. But she was only acting, she was fine.
“Maa, maa what happened to you!” Dharam said. “Bhavani, I accused my mother because of you and now her condition… What if something happens to her!”
“Something will happen for sure.” Bhavani thought.
“Dharamji, I am saying the truth! And there’s nothing wrong with your mother, she is only acting!”
But Dharam didn’t listen to Bhavani and took his mother to the hospital. The doctors said she was fine and her condition was do to the stress she had undergone. Dharam decided to stay with his mother and take care for her.
Gaura reopened her eyes in a short time.
“Maa, how are you?” He asked.
“Dharam, please don’t believe Bhavani.” She said. “I didn’t do any of these things she accuses me of!”
“I know, maa. For a moment I doubted you but then… Something told me you couldn’t have done that. I saw how caring were you towards my children and how you got upset on learning about Meera’s kidnapping. Do you need anything now? The doctors told me in a few hours you will be home.”
“No, I don’t need anything. Thanks for caring for me.”
And then, Dharam left the hospital room and Gaura immediately phoned Sindoora. She invited her to come there in the shortest time possible and Sindoora agreed. The Modis were not in the house for they had gone to see Gopi.
And some time later, Sindoora arrived.
“Gaura, how are you?” She asked. “What happened to you?”
“Don’t worry about me, Sindoora.” Gaura replied. “I am fine, I just had to do some acting.”
“Acting? But why?”
“Well listen.”
And Gaura told the whole story.
“So Dharam still believes you?” Sindoora then said.
“Yes, he does. But Bhavani knows everything about me now. I must admit, she is a smart woman though I succeeded to trick her.”
“Do not think about that, we will think of something for Bhavani.”
And on the other side, Kokila was in Gopi’s hospital room and was sitting beside her bed. Gopi’s condition had approved a little and Kokila was waiting for Gopi to reopen her eyes.
“Gopi, my dear bahu!” Kokila said in tears. “Please, open your eyes! Our family will be torn into pieces without you! I am very sorry for what happened, I will never forgive myself if you don’t wake up!”
But then, to Kokila’s surprise, Gopi woke up.
“Gopiiii!” Kokila said in excitement. “Gopi, I am so happy you woke up! Thank you so much Kanhaji, my Gopi finally woke up! Gopi, I want to apologize to you for what I did, I did not want to push you off these stairs!”
“Maaji, please calm down.” Gopi said. “I am fine. And I will get better. And you know what? Stop blaming yourself for what happened. It wasn’t you who pushed me off the stairs, it was Gaura!”
