“Gaura, what did you do?” Sindoora asked.
“I did what I had to.” Gaura replied. “Why? Did you think I would leave her alive and let her fail my plans? I planned everything with such care and this woman would fail everything and my attempts would be in vain.”
“But you did it all of a sudden and… How will you get rid of the evidence now?”
“The water will take her away. No one will start looking for her, you know that.”
“But the Modis? What if they ask about her? Gopi was determined to help her in finding evidence against you.”
“And what? Even if they don’t find her, it’s not necessary to start suspecting me. But if you are so worried, I will think of a lie, don’t worry. Now let’s get out of here and go back to Kokila before she begins looking for us.”
And now that Rathna was dead, Gaura felt relieved.
And the next morning, Kokila decided that it’s time to talk with the Suryavanshis as she had promised to Gaura. She would try to convince them of her innocence.
When she went to the house she was welcomed by Vidya.
“Jai Shree Krishna dadi, how are you? How is maa?”
“We are fine, don’t worry.” Kokila replied. “But I am here to talk with you about something.”
“What is it? Is everything alright?”
“Yes. I want to talk to you about Gaura.”
“What about baaji?”
“She got released from prison.”
“I know.”
“You know? But how?”
“Bhavani told me.”
“What? Bhavani?”
“Yes. She came here to warn me against Gaura. She told me that we should be careful with baaji as she is here to hurt us again.”
“But why does Bhavani think so?”
“I don’t know. Perhaps because they have a fight. But dadi, if you ask me, there’s something more to all of this. Something that we don’t know.”
“Vidya, please, don’t start instigating me against Gaura like the others.”
“No, dadi, I am not instigating you. I am just telling you to be careful. This is Gaura after all. But now tell me, what you wanted to say about her?”
“I wanted to say that what you do with her isn’t right. Dharam is her son and he should not treat her like that no matter what kind of a person she is.”
“But dadi, how can you talk like this? You also didn’t care about her in the past but now what changed?”
“Vidya, she is Dharam’s mother no matter is she good or bad and mistreating your mother is a sin. She has given him life, he is breathing because of her. He must accept her back here. I am telling this to you because you can relate to these things more than Meera, you have the patience to listen.”
“You are probably right. I will talk with him, don’t worry. And you can tell baaji she is free to come back here. I will take care of her.”
“I knew you would understand me correctly Vidya. Thanks for your understanding. I will tell her to come back here.”
And then Kokila went away.
She went back to the Modi mansion and told Gaura everything.
“Gaura, I have good news for you. I talked with Vidya and she said she will explain everything to Dharam Meera and Shravan. She said she will take care for you.”
“Thank you so much, Kokila. But if they were a real family to me, they wouldn’t wait for someone to make them accept me. But anyway, I will go there. Thanks for your care. I knew you would support me.”
“Of course, my friend.”
And Gaura packed her things and left the mansion.
“How wonderful!” She thought. “Kokila has convinced Vidya to accept me back in. And once that happens, I will get back everything that belongs to me. I will get back the house and will revenge Dharam for the way he humiliated me. He did nothing when I was being send in prison. He even helped police in finding evidence against me. He is not my son anymore, nor I am his mother. The way I gave him life, I will now take it away.”
And immersed in thoughts, she didn’t understand how she arrived to the Suryavanshi mansion. She unlocked the door with the keys she had before she was jailed. Vidya welcomed her.
“Jai Shree Krishna baaji.” Vidya said.
“Jai Ambe Vidya.” Gaura replied. “I am so happy to see you again.”
“Baaji, you must know something. You will live here only as a mother to Dharam, but nothing else. We accepted you here only because you gave birth to him and mistreating your mother is a sin, as dadi said.”
“Thank you so much Vidya. But what if Dharam gets angry on seeing me?”
“Don’t worry. I will talk with him. You are the oldest here and we must respect you.”
And while Gaura was trying to mislead the Suryavanshis, the relationship between Gopi and Kokila was still the same.
“Maaji, why you don’t talk to me anymore?”
“Gopi, Gaura left the house and returned to her family. Are you happy now that she is not here?”
“Of course I am. She means us only bad. How much I wish you to realize that.”
“Gopi, please stop it.”
“Why, maaji? I am telling the truth! I know that no matter what I tell you, you won’t believe me. But I will find evidence together with Rathna.”
“Alright. When you find them, we will talk again.”
