When asked how they handle professional disagreements, Sargun was candid: “Well, we fight, we argue, we discuss, and then we go in separate rooms. We don’t talk for a few hours. And then one of us comes back with a better solution.” This approach of open communication and temporary separation allows them to find better solutions collaboratively.
Sargun also shared insights into some pivotal decisions for “Udaariyaan” that initially caused uncertainty but eventually proved beneficial. One significant decision was to shoot in Chandigarh rather than Mumbai. She explained, “I wasn’t sure about how things would turn out if we shot in a different city in Punjab, but it turned out to be a great decision.”
Sargun also recounted a last-minute casting decision: “Specifically, I guess Ankit Gupta was the casting that we were not agreeing with till the last minute. In fact, the night before, we had chosen somebody else and finalized another actor. And it was only in the morning that we decided to take Ankit instead. I’m really very happy that we chose him.”
Beyond “Udaariyaan,” Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey have expanded their production repertoire with shows like “Swarn Ghar,” “Daalcheeni,” and “Baadal Pe Paon Hai” under their banner, Dremiyata.
