Seerat Kapoor opens up about the changes she sees in her life after joining the cast of ‘Imlie’

Actress Seerat Kapoor, who recently made her Hindi TV show debut with Imlie is garnering a lot of love for her performance as Cheeni. During an interview with ETimes TV, Seerat opened up about the changes she sees in her life post Imlie.

Talking about who Seerat really is, she said, “You know the girl in your school who was very simple, followed all the rules, was every teacher’s favorite, participated in every event possible, and never got into any trouble. Well, that’s me, Seerat. I believe I am a kid with an old soul. A lot of materialistic stuff doesn’t interest me, including luxury clothes and shoes, the latest electronic stuff, eating, and partying at hi-fi clubs. In short, I like to be middle-class. If you tell me something, 99.9% chances are that I would believe you. Call me gullible but for me, it’s because I choose to trust that people are inherently good. Until I am 100% sure, I’d like to believe that they are honest rather than harbor negative feelings by assuming that they might be lying. I am a very social person in general but not a group person as there are only a few special people who I am actually close to and they are all very different from each other.”

She added, “So, Seerat is ambitious yet she has her priorities straight. Family is the most important element of my life and then comes to my friends who are also my family. Career takes a third spot and then the rest of the world. I give my best in whatever I do, you can even call me a borderline extremist. I love talking, sharing, and communicating with anyone and everyone.”

When asked what she likes to do in her free time, Seerat shared, “Off-days are generally rest days if I am shooting continuously. If I get more than one-off I try to do something that rejuvenates me. I have spa days, I love dancing so I do that, I try to spend maximum time with my family on holidays. I also try to exercise as much as I can because it’s difficult on shoot days.”

Talking about Imlie and how it changed her life, she said, “Imlie is my first Hindi daily soap so it is a completely new experience for me. I am working almost every day and that has had a drastic change in my lifestyle. Managing work, health and personal life is a skill that I am still learning. As an actor, I have changed a lot in these past few months. Everyone I am working with is super talented and hardworking. It’s wonderful to know them and learn from them each day. I can’t even explain how fortunate I feel to have a director like Ashish sir. He has been a guide, a mentor, and a great teacher.”

When asked about her hobbies, she shared, “I am a creative soul, so anything creative peaks my interest. I love drawing, mandala art and even applying mehandi. Whenever I want to feel a sense of achievement, I try to create something from scratch. I am a reader. I never feel alone as I have my books or my Kindle with me all the time. I also like to write, I mostly write poetry in English and Hindi. I hope to write a song one day so I am planning to learn music, first chance I get. I am still learning to write stories though.”

Talking about her fitness mantra, Seerat said, “I am going to admit it’s not easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle while working. But I think I am getting the hang of it. First of all, I keep track of what I am consuming all day. I try to keep it all balanced. Secondly, I believe that more than physical fitness, I need to manage my mental peace first. So I focus on Yoga primarily and along with it I try to move my body as much as possible. Be it a little bit of stretching during the day and walking whenever I can even for a few minutes. I just try not to sit in one place.”
