As we all know that the phases of lockdown coming to an end have already begun and all the shoots have now been given permission to resume. But all of this comes with it’s own list of dos and don’ts. One such rule that is mentioned is that anycast/crewmember above the age of 65 will not be allowed at the site keeping in mind their health concerns.
Times of India spoke to the senior artists to know their view on the same. Bharti Achrekar who is currently seen in ‘Naati Pinky Ki Lambi Love Story’ spoke to the portal and said that she was furious when she got to know about this rule. She was like how can someone decide on their behalf whether to work or not. She even added that there should be some solution for senior artists to work also and if someone is healthy, why they should be deprived of working.
Daljit Soundh who is seen in ‘Guddan — Tumse Na Ho Payega’ said that she is married and she lives alone. She is the only one who earns for survival. This rule should be applicable to those who are ailing or unwell. And this rule will definitely lead to monetary issues for people like her.
BN Tiwari, president of the Federation of Western Cine Employees (FWICE), is approaching the state and central governments regarding this. He even told that the actors have already been out of work owing to the lockdown and they will suffer more if they are not allowed to shoot. He is requesting to allow shooting to consider artistes’ health and not their age.
Now it’s wait and watch for these artists as no one can start to shoot with them without concerned permission.
