The setting sun made the sky bath in the orange color. The Sun wanted to bid good bye but the earth did not wanted to let him go.
*****Flashback******
“Adi……” she screamed stretching her hand. Before he could run to her ‘BOOM’ a blas. The fire raised and tried reaching the sky. Life literally slipped out of his hand in seconds. His eyes stretched to a limit beyond which cannot expand themselves. His heart refused to beat and breathing hacked in his lungs.
*****END of flashback********
A day before:
“Adi bhai” Sanskar walked to Adarsh and placed his hand on his shoulder and he landed in the present. “Why you told me to behave that way?” asked he with a guilt in his eyes for hurting his brother.
“I don’t have much time Sanky” he held his younger brother’s cheek. “Take care of Ragu. I’m going to be undercover and other than you no one will know about this. Not our family members also” Adarsh was interrupted by Sanskar who spoke “But bhai” he looked at Adarsh worried.
“I know I’m scaring you. My job is like that Sanky more than this I cannot share with you and if Ragu knows she will not let me go and she is at peace thinking her Pari maa’s murderer is punished. But the truth isn’t what she is thinking” said he looking at the sky.
“I trust you Adi bhai. And don’t worry I will handle the situation at home” said Sanskar and Adarsh smiled widely caressing his cheek. “How much you have grown up baby brother” he teased pulling Sanskar’s nose. “Bhai” he complained cutely. “Bhabi dekho na” he said looking at the sky.
Then he realized that the evening has not yet passed and bit his tongue. “Still it isn’t night and no star connecting to Bhabi” said he. He looked at Adarsh who let a chuckle sarcastically.
“She had only so much time with me Sanky. And I don’t regret it either. As she used to say it doesn’t matter how many years we live. It only matters how much life we fill in each moment of our life” said he smiling widely. “You still miss her don’t you?” Sanskar asked.
“She is here Sanky” he showed his heart and continued “Even if I want to forget her she will not let me do it. You don’t know your Bhabi. She is very stubborn. If she hated anyone she used to hate from core of her heart and if she loved someone she will love them beyond any limits” he smiled through the glassy eyes.
“Bhai” Sanskar whispered placing his hand on Adarsh’s hand. “Can I ask you something?” asked Sanskar. Adarsh nodded his head. “Did Bhabi ever hated Ragini and then her hate turned to love?” he asked hesitant. “All your answers are in this dairy” Adarsh handed him a dairy. Sanskar looked at it.
“This” he looked at Adarsh surprised. “I purposely wanted you to read this dairy that day when it appeared first time in front of you. But alas my dumb Ragu she did not wanted you to know this thinking it is too early for you to know about her and Pari’s relation. So she hid it” he smiled at Sanskar who was looking blankly.
“I will miss you” he hugged Adarsh. “I will be back soon. But promise me you will take care of all of them” said Adarsh. “I will” said Sanskar. “So I will leave in the morning” said Adarsh and Sanskar nodded his head. Then they walked back to their rooms. Something was running in Adarsh’s mind. Only he was aware of it.
*****Present*****
A thud made Sanskar to turn and he saw Ragini struggling to get hold of the wheel chair. “Ghonchu” he walked inside from the balcony and lifted her. She ignored him and looked away. “Where do Ms. Queen want to go now” he asked to make the situation light. But she did not respond. “Hey” he shook her. “Put me down. I can use the wheel chair” said she.
“Gosh so much anger. You will burn the earth today with your prakop” said he. “Don’t change the topic. Just leave me Sanskar Maheshwari I don’t want your help” her words pained him but he maintained the smile. She could feel his pain. She did not wanted to hurt him but she couldn’t help it. Him being responsible for her AJ’s disappearance made her tough towards him.
“No Ms. Queen the official clown of yours cannot leave you just like that. And moreover..” he was interrupted by Ragini who said “After all more than a responsibility I’m nothing” her voice had the hurt. He slowly placed her back on the bed.
“Hey Bacha. Please don’t say like this” he said cupping her one cheek. “I have always been a responsibility Sanskar. First Nanny Maa then Pari maa then AJ and now. I…. I….” she fumbled as her words stuck in her throat. “Shhh” he placed his finger on her lips.
“You are my life and I care for you like anyone care for their life. Not like some unwanted responsibility” he said and kissed her forehead. She placed her head on his shoulder. “I don’t know Sanskar everyone just leaves me and goes without giving me a reason. Am I so bad? First my mom then Nanny Aunty then Pari maa now AJ” said she as tears brimmed her face.
“They aren’t away Biwi. They are with you always. Close your eyes and remember all the people in your life” he said kissing her hair and she closed her eyes.
