Sharan Anandani who played Akshara’s (Pranali Rathod) brother Vansh Singhania in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlataa Hai, has parted ways with the show. The actor who started working in the show a year ago and had a good track till Akshara was not married to Abhimanyu (Harshad Chopda). But after Akshara got married and joined the Birla house, Sharan’s track was sidelined and reduced to a great extent.
In an interview with Etimes, talking about quitting the show, he said, “Initially, it was a great role because I had good screen time. I was the elder brother of Akshara, so I had a good track and there was also a love track being planned. But then I got COVID and so my track was pushed and then it never happened. Also, this is quite common in TV shows that when a lead actress gets married, the girl’s family gets less screen time. I was happy that my first show was Yeh Rishta because the makers are very good and treated me well. I had a good track a few months back, when I helped Kairav (Mayank Arora) from the police officers.”
He was also bound about not being able to work with some other show as he was caught up with YRKKH. He says, “I am a newcomer and I have to earn my bread and butter, too. But I wasn’t shooting for many days in a month and that too impacted my life. I had the dates but could not do another show. So I decided to move on. I felt that I was not growing at all and I needed to be more than just an actor standing in the background. I am thankful to the makers that they agreed and let me go. It was a great team and I enjoyed working with them.”
