Shehzada Dhami Opens Up About His Controversial Exit from ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’

Shehzada Dhami has recently made headlines following his departure from Rajan Shahi’s production, “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.” Shehzada, who was part of the show for a few months, opened up about his experience and the circumstances surrounding his exit in a candid interview.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shehzada Dhami was asked if he was given any reason for his termination. Shehzada revealed that he was on leave when he learned about his exit, anticipating a conversation with Rajan Shahi to discuss his perspective. However, he was called for an urgent meeting on March 18th, where Rajan Shahi made several comments. Out of respect, Shehzada chose not to respond at the time.

Shehzada expressed his shock at Rajan Shahi’s remarks, which included personal comments about his upbringing and terms like “manufacturing fault” and DNA. Shehzada, who was raised by his mother, found these comments deeply hurtful. He stated, “I don’t have a father, and my mother took care of me. I have immense respect for her, and hearing those words left me wondering why they were said.”

Shehzada shared that his mother, who is very innocent, suggested he might have compromised or said something different. She was concerned for him and wanted to understand what had happened.

Shehzada described how he was asked to leave, stating, “When they said, ‘Shehzada, pick up your belongings and leave,’ I didn’t take anything from the makeup room. I had renovated it nicely. I quietly picked up my stuff and left because I didn’t want to say anything back.”

Shehzada revealed that Rajan Shahi had called the entire unit, including spot boys, light men, makeup artists, technicians, directors, and actors, to witness his dismissal. He questioned the professionalism of such an act, stating, “If they had a problem with me, they should have terminated me privately instead of humiliating me in front of everyone.”

When asked about claims that he took multiple takes for scenes, Shehzada responded, “It’s a lie. There would be chaos if you took 15 takes for a shot. Rajan sir has never seen me shooting. He’s repeating things based on what he’s been told.”

Shehzada firmly believes that the director’s actions were aimed at tarnishing his image, saying, “100 percent! It’s completely an act to spoil my image—that I can’t work and can’t act. But there’s the audience. Watch the performance, and you’ll understand. There has been improvement in my craft. Sir is so angry, saying so much, but he never talked to me even once.”

Despite the controversy, Shehzada remains grateful for the opportunity and the experience. He emphasizes his respect for Rajan Shahi and expresses a desire to move forward positively.
