Sherdil Shergill fame Ayesha Kapoor opens up on her journey so far in the showbiz
Actress Ayesha Kapoor, who recently made her television debut with the show Sherdil Shergill is winning hearts with her performance in the show. During a recent interview, Ayesha opened up on her journey so far in showbiz and shared that she always wanted to be an actress since her childhood. While her parents today support her, some of her relatives are upset with her choice and don’t speak to her.
She said, “My mom made my portfolio when I was 8 years old. I did a few commercials and also a film as a child artist with the late actor Om Puri. I did a South film as well. That was how I got interested in acting. But later my mother was worried about my studies, so she told me to focus on that. After I grew up, my love for acting remained constant and I told my parents about it, but they didn’t support me then. They told me to take up any other profession apart from this. My entire family, including my relatives, were against it.”
The actress didn’t give up on her dreams and decided to go ahead with her decision of getting into showbiz. “I got into doing movies, and music videos in 2019 and acted in the film Love street. I also did a few web projects and now I am a part of television too. After seeing my hard work, my parents accepted me as an actor, but some of our relatives are still against it. They don’t talk to me and don’t let them talk to me either for weird reasons. But I don’t let these things affect me because I am sure with time, they will understand and will be fine with it. It has been a roller coaster journey for me but I am enjoying it. I hope to keep making my parents proud with good work.”
