The episode starts with Maa Durga getting tired fighting with Mahishashur. Mahishashur boasts that he purposefully got Durga tired so that he can defeat her easily. He says though Durga killed all his soldiers, he is enough to kill her. Shiv thinks until he is there, his Shakti can’t be thirsty. He unlocks his hair and let Ganga flow to quench Durga’s thirst. Durga catches water in her palm and quenches her thirst.
Mahishashur attacks Durga. Durga holds his weapon and kicks him far away. Mahishasur tricks Durga and multiplies himself. Shukracharya boasts that Durga can’t kill Mahishasur. Shiv reminds that Durga is born to rishi Katyayan with a reason as Katyayan gathered knowledge to end black magic, he transferred his knowledge to Durga.
Durga challenges Mahishasur that the shadow of evil can never last and ends all Mahishasur’s shadow except the real one. She then attacks Mahishashur and injures him and then steps on his chest. Mahishashur’s devotees emerge and plead to spare Mahishasur as he did good for them. Narayan says devi Durga will do justice for sure.
Durga says she can’t spare sinner Mahishasur but can give him a boon that he will be associated with her always. She beheads him. Gods rejoice and call her Mahishasura Mardhini.
