Actress Shubhangi Atre who shared screen space with Reema Lagoo in the show “Do Hanson Ka Jodaa”, paid her respects to the late actress during a recent interview. Shubhangi shared that Reema was a talent house.
Remembering her on her birthday on June 21, Shubhangi said, “I was excited to know the very first day that Reema ji was portraying my mother in the show. I was quite happy that the popular on-screen mother to many superstars would be sharing screen space with me and I would be seen as her daughter. Though I was very nervous the first day shooting with her, she made me so comfortable and since then we became more like real-life mother-daughter. Even after the show went off air, we used to communicate and she used to guide me. I do miss her even today.”
Shubhangi, who currently essays the lead role of Angoori in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, added, “She used to add fun to the sets as our show had many emotional scenes. She used to crack jokes after the shoot, so we returned home with a fresh mood and positivity. She was a brilliant actor and I got to learn a lot from her. She was a talent house and I learned many things from her like acting skills and professionalism. She used to pamper me a lot and was concerned about me on the sets. I remember she had no attitude or tantrums regarding anything.”
Actress Nupur Joshi also talked about her experience of working with the ‘Hum Apke Hain Kaun’ actress, she shared, “I got an opportunity to share the screen space with Reema Lagoo ma’am which is one among the golden memories of my life. She was disciplined while working and had all heart and was full of fun otherwise. I learned a lot from her while working along with being professional, on time, carrying no tantrums, and welcoming to the team. Despite being so senior, she always carried an aura of a friend, full of warmth. We even used to share our meals, she used to cook and bring for us on sets. She used to cook the best Maharashtrian recipes. I really miss her a lot.”
Reema Lagoo was last seen on TV as Dayavanti Mehta in the show Naamkarann. She passed away due to cardiac arrest on May 17, 2017.
