During an interview with Showsha, Shweta was asked if she ever had to negotiate for fair compensation in her roles. She responded, “I didn’t have to do it then because I started with a salary of Rs 2500-5000 per day. Back then, you used to get an increment every year.”
The “Begusarai” actress added, “By the time I left ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay,’ I was earning Rs 2-2.25 lakhs per day. I think it wasn’t that much then.”
In the same conversation, Shweta highlighted the industry’s reluctance to pay actors well, making it challenging for experienced artists to secure work. She mentioned that she has begun turning down projects due to low pay.
Shweta also noted that new actors often accept projects at very low rates, which affects the overall pay standards in the industry.
