Politician and actress Smriti Zubin Irani recently announced the publication of her debut novel titled, ‘Lal Salaam’. The novel is going to be an action thriller that is based on the tragic killings of 76 CRPF personnel in Dantewada in April 2010.
Published by Westland Publications, Lal Salaam is slated for release on 29 November 2021 and will a tribute to the brave men and women who gave a lifetime of service to the country.
Lal Salaam will narrate the story from the point of view of Vikram Pratap Singh. The book will shed light on the challenges honest law-enforcer face when the system is steeped in backroom politics and corruption. It is the gripping tale of a struggle against overwhelming odds, and of men and women who fight these odds with courage, ingenuity, and resilience.
In a recent interview, Smriti talked about her upcoming novel and shared, ‘The story has been brewing at the back of my mind for a few years now, until there came a time when I simply couldn’t ignore the urge to put it down on paper.I am hoping readers will enjoy the pace and the insights I have tried to bring to the narrative, which is set in a less-reported part of India.’
