Snehal Rai is a popular actress known for her role in the hit TV show Ishq Ka Rang Safed. Recently, she opened up about her personal life, revealing that she is married to Madhvendra Kumar Rai, a politician who is 21 years older than her. Despite being in a long-distance relationship with Madhvendra, Snehal expressed her gratitude for the immense love and support she receives from him and his family for her acting career. Snehal shared that she and Madhvendra have been happily married for a decade. However, along with this disclosure, Snehal also shared heart-wrenching incidents from her life that deeply affected her.
One of the tragic events she spoke about was the loss of her 4-month-old son, Rudra. In an interview with ETimes TV, Snehal opened up about this devastating experience, saying, “After my marriage, I had a son named Rudra. Unfortunately, we lost him due to an illness when he was just 4 months old. I am now in the process of setting up an NGO called Rudrakalp Creations. I hope wherever he is, it is a beautiful place. This incident completely changed my perspective on life. While I grieved the loss of my own child, I realized that there are so many children out there who don’t have a mother. So instead of dwelling on my own sorrow, I decided to become a mother figure to those kids. I want to spread smiles and happiness among them.”
Snehal further expressed her desire to help women who have experienced domestic violence, drawing from her own personal experiences. She shared her aspiration to be a mother figure to thousands of children in need, guiding them towards a better future. Snehal emphasized that Rudra’s passing made her realize her calling as a compassionate caregiver. Despite the immense pain she went through, Snehal found the strength to carry on and make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Reflecting on her journey of healing, Snehal spoke about the dark times she faced after losing her son. She recalled spending a week locked in her room, hardly leaving except for essential tasks. She shared, “Life felt meaningless. I was engulfed in misery. Just when you think everything is falling into place, life turns everything upside down. Losing a child is like experiencing a hundred deaths. But then, I had a friend who shook me out of my despair. I had become a mere skeleton, weighing only 40 kilograms. I felt guilty for even putting on makeup and showing my face to the world. But my friend encouraged me to get ready, took me to Marine Drive, and allowed me to cry and express myself. One day, when I visited an orphanage, a child hugged me and called me ‘Aai’ (mother). That moment gave me the strength to bounce back.”
On the professional front, Snehal has been a part of several notable TV shows, including Ishq Ka Rang Safed, Janmo Ka Bandhan, Ichhapyaari Naagin, Perfect Pati, and Vish.
