Abhi back at home asked Rinku to change into his homewear.
Rinku “Papa…why are you looking like a mushroom?” Abhi “Mushroom??” He asked in doubt raising his eyebrows.
Rinku “Only mushrooms look with no face.” Abhi smiling asked “Now how do I look?” Rinku “Now you are looking like Pragie!! She smiles like you!”
Abhi closing his eyes in disbelief shook his head. He is trying not to think about her, but here his own son is reminding of her.
Rinku yells “Papa!!!!” Abhi looking back at him “I’m tired Rinku….Will talk to you later…better get changed before you do anything.” Rinku said ok in reply seeing Abhi walking in his own thoughts.
Abhi closes the door of his room. He comes in front of the mirror.
Abhi,What’s this? Why are you getting agitated for seeing her being close with some guy. This is not the way it is supposed to be. Why am I behaving this way? Why was I ignoring her when she was the one who taught Rinku to dance well. How can I do like this?
He took a deep breath with his eyes closed.
Abhi, I have to say sorry to her. Most importantly, thank her for making Rinku dance well.
He immediately took his phone & sent a text message to Pragya thanking for her teaching in dance to Rinku. He also mentioned that without her he wouldn’t have performed the way he did earlier today.
Pragya seeing the message smiled widely while Krish snatched the phone from her & read aloud.
Krish “For this u are smiling like this? Something fishy here….” Pragya “Give back the phone to me Krish!” Krish “You know that he is thanking you as Rinku’s dad right?” Pragya “Of course I know that! First give me back phone!!!” She said by trying to get her phone from his hand.
Krish “Wait! Wait! I will give your phone back. But tell me one thing, why do I feel you are feeling as if he is not thanking you as Rinku’s dad but he is thanking u as your husband….”
Pragya angrily “Shut up Krish!!! My feelings, my smile at him are all respect towards him for bringing up Rinku so far. The every small things he does for Rinku makes me respect him. Don’t try to disgrace that by calling it as love. Yes I do love his bonding with Rinku but I never love to have a bond with him. I called u up here believing you will help me to make my way clear. But if u are behaving this way then just get out of here.”
Krish “I’m sorry….I was just teasing…You know right, I am always playful & make fun of things. I am very sorry….” He said by holding his ears.
Pragya crossing her arms “Now tell me how to tell about my love failure to Abhi. That’s your punishment for making fun of me.”
Krish “I never knew you had a love failure.” Pragya “Even I don’t know….” Krish pleaded “What do you want Pragya? Can u tell me clearly!”
Pragya “I just want him to know that I had a love failure.” Krish “But how?? I mean both of u never interacted anything personally right?” Pragya “That’s why I want you to come up with a idea for me to narrate my love failure to him.” Krish “Ok…let me think….I also have to think of your love failure story right?” Pragya excitedly “Yes!!! I want my love failure to be perfect !!!” Krish “It looks very weird seeing you excited in wanting your love failure to be perfect”. Pragya winked at him saying at least in this she wants something perfect in her life.
Krish frowns for what she says. He knows she had went through a lot in her life which made her speak this way.
As for Abhi he was thinking of saying sorry face to face rather than texting.
Days passed…..
Abhi was feeling upset as Rinku was not having his meetings at home. All the meetings were at his dance class or at playgrounds now. Abhi wondered when will he get another chance of seeing Pragya again.
It was a Saturday evening. Abhi drove to the nearby temple. He never prays to God but surprisingly Rinku prays a lot. He felt maybe this was some characteristic that Rinku had from his mum. Now Abhi is going to temple to do prayers on Rinku’s name. Rinku couldn’t make it as he have extra classes at school so he asked Abhi to go & do the prayers on behalf of him.
Abhi, Why is it very crowded here? Is it a special day or what?
He looks blankly thinking of how to even get back to home when the queue is damn long.
He then senses someone’s gentle touch on his shoulder. He turned to see who it was.
Abhi “Pragya?” Pragya “Yes…where is Rinku?” She said with a pleasant smile which Abhi feels he can admire it for whole day.
Pragya waved her hand in front of him to get his attention.
Abhi “Sorry…I was thinking something else. What did u ask?” Pragya “Where is Rinku?” Abhi “Extra classes.” Pragya “It’s 7 pm & he is still in school?” Abhi “Ya what to do Ms Pragya, nowadays classes are like that. He was saying it was extra classes for math. He is quite weak in math. I don’t know how’s that possible when I am very good at math.”
Pragya, Oh no! I think he is following me. I am also weak at math…..sorry Rinku….
Abhi “Anyways do u know what’s special today? I can’t believe the queue is so long!”
Pragya “Oh…it’s a auspicious day for students. I guess that’s why you came to pray for Rinku.”
Abhi “Oh I see…by the way I don’t know about this. Rinku was the one who told me to come here today. He was very adamant asking me to come here. Now I know the reason for his adamance. But why are u here? Don’t say u still consider yourself as a student.”
Pragya, I wish I can tell I am also here for Rinku….
Pragya “ I am here for my students. You know I am a dance instructor right?”
Abhi “Well, I was surprised to know u teach dance. Thank u once again for making Rinku dance well. Now my house is full of zoobie doobie!!!”
Pragya chuckles lightly & gestures him to move forward as the queue was getting short.
Abhi “I didn’t know he likes to dance. I thought he only likes to lead a group. Like more of managing…that’s just like me.”
Pragya “Maybe he follows his mum in liking dance.” Abhi “It’s possible….” He said not looking at her.
Pragya realizes she shouldn’t have said that way. She wanted to divert his thoughts.
Pragya “I’m sorry for that day. I was quite harsh with my words….” Abhi in surprise “Which day?” Pragya “That day when u call & ask me not to come to your house for chota gang meetings.” Abhi “Oh….that day….I should be the one saying sorry for that. I didn’t mean the way you thought. I do understand the importance of letting Rinku doing the things he like.” Pragya “That’s good….Please do continue to support him at all times.” Abhi smiled in response stepping forward with her.
Abhi “So…..” He hesitated to ask her. Pragya “So?” Abhi “So you love someone?” Pragya gave a shocked look.
Abhi “I am sorry if I ask anything wrong.” He said quickly & stepped forward while she took some time to move.
Abhi, Why can’t u control yourself Abhi? Now u see she looks shocked & is not even talking anything.
Pragya “I do love someone….still loving….but those around me say it’s a love failure…”
Abhi was taken aback by her reply. He was about to ask further when the pandit call him. While the prayers was being done, he was thinking of Pragya’s words. Then it was Pragya’s turn. Abhi moved from there waiting to catch Pragya later.
Pragya prayed well for Abhi & Rinku. She also wished Abhi to find a better person in his life to care for him & Rinku.
Abhi saw her praying with her eyes closed. He thought She looks very pure when praying to God.
Pragya finishing the prayers got Prasad from the pandit & saw Abhi waiting for her.
Pragya “You forgot to take prasad. Take mine & pass it to Rinku!” Abhi “Then for you?” Pragya “That’s ok I come here very often just for the Prasad!” Abhi hearing it chuckled.
Pragya “Shall we sit down for a while? Or are u rushing off now?”
Abhi “I need to fetch Rinku. Why don’t u come with me? I can drop u at your hostel too.” Just then he got a call.
Abhi talking on the phone said ok, first go & eat something Rinku. Take care!
Abhi ending the call “He is back at home with friends. He sounds very tired. I asked him to go & eat first.”
Pragya “Oh…you better go to make sure he eats & also doesn’t feel alone at home.”
Abhi “He will definitely eat for sure. There is my Ma around. She will make sure he never feels alone.”
Pragya “That’s nice….” Abhi “So shall we sit down for a while? I am feeling tired too.” Pragya smiles in response pointing at a place to sit.
Both sat down enjoying the gentle breeze that surrounds the temple.
Abhi “Even though the temple is crowded it does give a kind of peacefulness…” Pragya “That’s because everyone comes with a thought of something good to happen in their lives or others lives….” Abhi “That’s true….Good thoughts send good vibes….” Pragya “But sadly in this same crowd he was lost.” Abhi “Lost? Who is that?” Pragya “He is close to my heart….” Abhi “Ok but who is he?” She never replies him.
Abhi makes a guess & says “Oh…he means he is a 8 year old boy ah?” Pragya “No! He was 28 years old when he got lost.” Abhi “What??? 28 year old man was lost!! He got to be a fool!” Pragya “Don’t ever say Dish as fool! He is like my tool!” Abhi “Dish is a tool! So u lost a 28 year old dish aka tool.” Pragya frowned hearing it.
Abhi asks “Is it possible for u to tell me clearly of who was lost & how it happened?”
Pragya sadly says “He is Dishan….My love, my life, my everything. 4 years back, both of us ran away from our village as our families never agree to our love. We came to this temple to get married. But in the crowd he got lost & I am still waiting for him to come back to me.”
Abhi sighs hearing it. It’s clear situation where she is being ditched by him.
Abhi “You still love him?” Pragya “Yes! I still love him immensely.” She says smiling.
Abhi “Listen Ms Pragya, I think you are not understanding the fact that he had cheated you.”
Pragya “Cheated me? No way Mr Abhi, I know he is looking around for me.” Abhi “ Ok let me ask u…..if he is really looking for u then he would have been here waiting for u or asking the people here about you. You also said u come here often. Doesn’t that mean he should be also coming here often?” Pragya “It’s not like that that. Maybe he had forgotten this place. He is searching for me elsewhere!” Abhi giving an unbelievable look “Ya & that takes 4 years! What are u saying Ms Pragya? It’s clear that he cheated u!”
Pragya “No he didn’t! He won’t too!” Abhi “Tell me what u bring along when u leave from your village?”
Pragya “Some cash & my golden jewellery set….” Abhi “Do u have all of them with u?” Pragya “No he was having it. Don’t know how he is surviving….I thinking he is suffering a lot to find me….”
Abhi “Oh god! Then it’s very clear that he steal your belongings & left you here alone!”
Pragya disagrees by shaking her head as no. She was about to stand when he hold her hand.
Abhi “Pragya….don’t fall in love blindly….He don’t deserve you….You have to accept this love of yours is a failure. It’s ok to accept rather than believing in a failed love. For the person u are, u will surely get a love that is successful….” He says caringly which makes Pragya lost in his words. She came back to senses when there was bell ring sound heard.
Pragya left his hand and stands up. He also stood up. Pragya “Please Mr Abhi, don’t say my love as failure….” Abhi “It’s good to accept failures to get success in life Pragya….”
She walks saying she needs to go. Abhi asks her to come with him. She reluctantly goes with him as he said he won’t leave if she doesn’t come with him.
