Nia “You are here?” She asked in a shivering tone.
Abhi “I thought you were just a school teacher to Rinku. I never knew you are teacher to Pragya as well.”
Nia “I…actually….Pragya is my…” Abhi loudly “Tell me the truth!” Nia got scared by his loud voice.
She asked him to lower down his voice as he doesn’t want the fellow staff & students to hear him.
He looked fiercely at her demanding the truth.
Nia “Ok…I will tell everything but before that you have to promise me you won’t tell anything to Pragya about what I tell now.” Abhi “First tell me then I will think about it.” Nia “No…please….I don’t want her to break down…..” Abhi looks skeptical of her words. Abhi “Alright. I promise I won’t tell anything to her.” Nia sighs as she asks him to meet her at the school playground as her staff room is not a convenient place to talk. He also went there waiting for her. She came in a while with papers in her hand.
Abhi “Tell me now….” Nia “I’m sorry for interfering in your personal life but it’s nothing to make it worse or complicated as you think. I just want to help Rinku. He is such a smart & responsible boy in my class. I know for a teacher all students are same but to me Rinku is my favourite boy as he saved my child who studies in this school from a danger. From that day onwards, unknowingly I have been concerned about every single thing he does.”
Abhi “All this is ok. But how can you try to manipulate Pragya?” Nia “You are getting me wrong. She is not being manipulated by me. In fact, I was the one who made both of you meet.”
Abhi “What???” Nia nodded her head as yes & started to tell the truth.
Nia was extremely grateful for Rinku’s timely act of saving her child from danger. After that incident, she was spending time with Rinku whether she could and helped him in whatever ways she can.
One day,
Nia “I have been seeing Rinku, only your Papa or your Dadi fetch you back home. If not the driver uncle. But Where is your Ma?” Rinku remains silent. He looks back at Nia before crying.
Nia was shocked seeing this. She calmed down him by hugging him & ask him to share about his worries. That’s when Rinku said “I don’t know Ms Nia. I always ask Papa & Dadi. Both say she will come but don’t say when….I always want to see my Mumma….you know Ms Nia I feel I am very unlucky….all my friends are lucky. They have their Mumma to fetch but me….” He continues to cry which makes Nia in tears too.
Nia “Rinku, don’t worry. I am here na….I will talk to your Papa…” Rinku “Really Ms Nia?” Nia “Yes it’s a promise.”
Nia felt instead of talking to Abhi, his Mum would be a better option. She will understand how much Rinku yearns for his Mother.
She talks to his Mum & gets to know that Rinku was born out of surrogacy. It was shocking to her at first but hearing Abhi’s intentions towards kids, she appreciates his initiative. But she wants to do something to Rinku to make him feel better.
Nia once want to Rinku’s house & managed to peek into Abhi’s room. After a long hour of search, she found Rinku’s birth certificates & other documents.
With that she tracked where Pragya was now. She went to meet her.
Nia “Thanks for meeting me.” Pragya “after all this years I have no words to tell that someone had came in search of me.” Nia “I understand it’s a confidential matter. Don’t think wrongly that your information is being leaked by anyone.” Pragya “Please come to the point directly as I don’t want to talk about my past for very long.” Nia “Your son have grown up to be a very good boy. He is amazing. Helpful in nature, smart in studies, caring in character & many more to say about him.” Pragya hearing it remembered the day she held him in his hand. She was curious to know how he looks now.
Nia “This is his photo.” She passed it to Pragya to see. Pragya was amazed to see him wearing chasma like her. His smile was exactly like hers. She was in tears touching his facial features on the photo.
Nia looking at it was teary eyed. She understands no matter what, it gets emotional for a mum seeing their children grown up. It doesn’t matter even if it’s for a day, where the mother was with the child, because the mother carries her child in heart all long her life. It’s a emotional connection that stays forever in a mother’s life.
Pragya “What’s his name?” Nia “Rithesh…he is called by everyone as Rinku.” Pragya “Oh…Rinku….he looks so cute. He smiles just like me.” She says keeping the photo to her chest.
Nia after letting her to compose herself said “I need your help. I need Rinku to feel better.” Pragya “What’s wrong with him? He is ok right?” She asked panicking. Nia with a smile said “He is fine…just that he is missing his mum…so…” Pragya denies of the possibilities of revealing herself as his mum to him. Nia tells she was not here for that. Pragya listens to her. She finds it convincing that at least she can do this for a child. Then from a distance she can also get to know of his son.
Abhi interrupted “ Pragya is the real Mum of Rinku, it’s unbelievable….I appreciate your intention of helping Rinku. But….” Nia “I know Mr Abhi, I have gone overboard & intrude into your personal life. But after that meeting with Pragya, I felt you owe her more.” Abhi “What do u mean?” Nia “Believe it or not, she is unable to conceive again because of your selfishness.”
Abhi hearing it was shocked. Nia “It’s just your selfishness that made her weaken. She had a purpose for being a surrogate mother. The purpose was you!” Abhi “Ms Nia, what are you saying? I don’t get anything.”
