Son Anubhav Reflects on Late Father Akhil Mishra’s Tragic Demise and Aspires to Continue His Legacy
Renowned actor Akhil Mishra, aged 67, tragically passed away on Wednesday, September 20, in an unfortunate accident. What many may not have known is that Akhil had chosen to raise his nephews as his own kids after the untimely demise of his brother.
Akhil’s son, Anubhav, who is currently battling cancer, shared his deep sorrow over his father’s loss and expressed his heartfelt desire to follow in his late father’s footsteps both in his personal and professional life. In an interview, Anubhav stated, “The truth is that the news still hasn’t sunk in; the realization that we no longer have him with us is difficult to grasp. Growing up, I always admired and aspired to be like him, both personally and professionally. He was an immensely talented individual and a kind-hearted soul. His passing is a significant loss for his fans and our family. He will always remain a part of our lives.”
Akhil Mishra’s untimely demise was brought to light by his wife, Suzanne Bernert, who was away for a shoot in Hyderabad when the tragic incident occurred. Reportedly, the actor slipped in the kitchen while attempting to hang clothes using a tool.
Akhil’s last rites were conducted on September 21, with Suzanne overseeing the proceedings.
Akhil Mishra had a notable presence in the entertainment industry, including a memorable role as the librarian Dubey in the film “3 Idiots,” where he delivered some humorous scenes. His filmography also includes notable works such as “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi,” “Well Done Abba,” “Calcutta Mail,” and a role in Shah Rukh Khan’s “Don.” In the realm of television, he contributed to shows like “Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se,” “Uttaran,” “Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna,” and “Shrimaan Shrimati,” among others.
Akhil Mishra leaves behind his wife, Suzanne Bernert, and sons Abhinav and Anubhav. He married German actress Suzanne Bernert on February 3, 2009, and the couple later celebrated a traditional wedding ceremony on September 30, 2011.
