The Goa Police has arrested Sudhir Sangwan, the personal assistant of the Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat, along with Sukhwinder Singh, in connection with the murder case.
Now Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh Bishnoi during a press conference shared that Sangwan has confessed to the crime. The police officer, on Friday, said that Sudhir and Sukhwinder took Sonali Phogat to Curlie’s restaurant in North Goa where Sangwan mixed some obnoxious substance in Sonali’s drink and forced her to drink it.
She later felt uneasy and sick in the restaurant. Sonali was then taken by Sangwan and Sukhwinder to the hotel. Sonali was later admitted to St Antony’s hospital, Anjuna where she was declared dead.
For the unversed, Sonali’s brother Rinku Dhaka had alleged in his complaint that Sonali was murdered by her personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan along with Sukhwinder Singh. According to him the reason behind the murder was her properties and financial assets. He also mentioned that both the accused wanted to finish her political career.
