Splitsvilla X4: Arjun Bijlani on replacing Rannvijay Singha; says, “He messaged me All the best brother”
Arjun Bijlani, who is currently hosting Splitsvilla season X4 with Sunny Leone, is super excited about his new journey. Arjun and Sunny are mentoring the contestants in the matter of hearts. Arjun who rose to fame with his stint in Naagin is hosting Splitsvilla for the first time and has replaced Rannvijay Singha, who has hosted six seasons of the reality show.
During a recent interview with ETimes TV, Arjun talked about hosting Splitsvilla X4, his bond with Sunny Leone and replacing Rannvijay Singh Singha.
He said, “I am very excited for this season obviously because it is my first season as a host. I had a great time hosting Sunny and being a mentor to so many contestants. It is a different experience from what I have done before. When I first went to meet Sunny Leone I didn’t know what kind of a person she would be. The things I heard about her were that she’s a wonderful person, she’s very friendly, charming and will make you feel comfortable. But there’s always a doubt in your head “mere saath kaise hogi”. So, when I met her for the first time I realized whatever I’ve heard about her is absolutely true. She’s actually very sweet. We had so much fun together. We both were away from our families like the contestants for 1 month. We were also working but it didn’t feel like the time just went away really fast.”
He added, “I had a great time with Sunny’s twins. They had come to the sets and I would make sure to play with them. I love kids and feel happy around them. So I really bonded with them and one thing I have realized about them is that they don’t get tired. They made me run and run. It was a lot of fun with them. My son Ayaan and his wife Neha were also there for one week and we all hung out together. When you are working on any show or project as a co-host and colleagues that bond should be there and in our case, it happened naturally and I am glad it did.
On replacing Rannvijay, Arjun said, “It wasn’t difficult at all, as a person I love to have conversations and love people. I have a strong sense and understanding of relationships and situations. My personal experience in the industry is around 20 years. Hence, I thoroughly thought I could do the show and so I took it up. Rannvijay is a friend I know, in fact, he messaged me also saying ‘All the best brother’ and that was a wonderful gesture and great for him to do that. He is a great guy, I am sure his fans will miss him and I absolutely understand that. I hope that whatever I have done in the show his fans also appreciate my work. As I feel you may love anybody, but if someone did a good job, one should appreciate it. Some people might feel Rannvijay has done it better, so be it. I am not here to do better or less than anybody, I am just here to do what I do. I have done my work with all honesty and I hope his fans love me too.”
When asked if love can actually happen on a reality show, Arjun said, “Yes, love can happen on a reality show because sometimes you are in front of the camera for so long that after a point you forget that there’s actually a camera that’s capturing you. Aap kitna camera conscious reh sakte Ho… you can be conscious for a few days but not always. You will forget after a week or month and that’s when your real side comes out. There’s another show called Bigg Boss, there as well after a certain point you forget the camera is watching you because that’s how we are made. We are human beings and we tend to put our guards down and be our real selves. Most of them have genuinely found partners because real emotions do come out.”
