Hello everyone!
***
The fragrance of the soil after rain is something that always used to hit Riddhima’s nostrils and calm her mind but today nothing as such had happened.
She’s least interested to take a deep breath and even if by chance she takes, her attention wasn’t on the fragrance, rather it was on how to come out of the deep forest and reach the highway with all the parts of her body intact.
.
Since the past 2 hrs., Riddhima has been walking down the old, endless path, scattered with leaves and long twigs with no particular destination. Each step she took lead to a defining ‘CRUNCH’. Which freaked her to an extent that she started cursing her fate and the over enthusiasm she had shown while trekking that she had left all of her friends behind.
And now, here she has ended herself into with no service showing in her phone, 50% battery and a flickering torch which is stating to off anytime, anywhere.
“What was the need to do that Riddhima? Huh…now see where you have ended yourself into. A deep forest, its 7pm and the sun is on the edge to hide itself.”
The forest seemed to be sleeping no noise and the only noise that could be heard was the occasional twig snapping beneath her shaking feet and the sudden hoot of an owl. This was all enough to make her fear rise even more.
All of the sudden, the forest seemed darker and new sounds could reach Riddhima’s ears, numerous chirpings of the birds, swift moments of animals she could feel around her and adding to it was the faint roar of lions.
She felt scared. Petrified. Riddhima stood rooted to her place because she had the fear coming in her mind that if she took another step, any animal would jump upon her or the wild birds would fly towards her and scratch her skin leaving her with blood oozing out of her body and more animals coming to her with the help of her blood’s smell. One prey and hundreds of predators.
“Om namah Shivaay….om namah Shivaay, bhagwan mujhe bacha lena. Jai Hanuman gyaan gun saagar, jai kapees trilok ujaagar. Bhagwaan mujhe aage ka nahi aata lekin mujhe bacha lena.” uttering a few chants, Riddhima muttered up the courage and started moving.
Because she knew staying at one place would be more dangerous than moving.
As Riddhima continued her journey, she felt the trees wound around, watching her as she walked. Each minute the forest got darker. And she felt more frightened and lonelier.
But she wasn’t alone she knew that. She was surrounded by various species, the tall trees, which were masked by shadows, towered over her, almost like they were watching every step she took.
With no light in sight Riddhima tried to get out of the endless maze. Following the path since long, she stopped and ran the back of my hand across all the trees. They felt weird, like coral from under the sea, the moss cold and wet, the bark sharp and bumpy.
While examining, she didn’t sense the movements taking place around her, the steps that someone or some animal was approaching towards her.
That she was in danger.
She came out of her bubble only when she felt the presence of something behind her. Her heart rate fastened the, her body started to shake and she tried to clutch the tree’s bark hard.
With the corner of her eyes, she tried to see who it was? A bear, a tiger or a lion?
But she wasn’t a rabbit, was she? Who thought that she would see who’s at her side without turning back!?
She swiftly turned back when she felt the roar of lion or a person’s voice or a haul of wolf speaking.
“INTRUDER”
And met with the red eyes. Seeing those eyes, her heart stilled, fear of getting killed made its way.
A small whisper came out from her;
“Mummy save me…..Vampire.”
_______________
Done with the prologue. Hope I was able to reach to you all.
I won’t be updating this story right now.
Wasn’t able to concentrate because the plot was again and again coming into my head, so had to pen it down.
I have a book lined up which I have to complete, so yeah first that. Also, another reason I won’t update is I’m waiting for someone to complete her book. Then only I’ll post this one. Well aaram se khatam karna koi jaldi nahi hai mujhe update karne ki. Also, if it’s same then toh I’ll just leave it aside. What to say, ‘Hum ek jaise hi toh hain.’ 😂
Take care!
Peace out!!
