Sugandha Mishra reveals why she refused to perform at Anant Ambani’s Pre-Wedding

Sugandha Mishra, renowned for her melodious voice and comedic flair, gained widespread recognition through her performances on “The Kapil Sharma Show,” where she portrayed characters like Vidyavati and a teacher. Recently, she has been embracing the joys of motherhood, frequently sharing delightful glimpses of her daughter on social media. Sugandha married fellow comedian Sanket Bhosale, and the couple welcomed their daughter last year.

In a recent interview with ETimes TV, Sugandha opened up about her initial hesitation to perform at Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding festivities, as she was reluctant to leave her three-month-old daughter.

Why Did Sugandha Initially Refuse to Perform at Anant Ambani’s Pre-Wedding?

Sugandha revealed that both she and her husband Sanket received an invitation to perform at Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebration. Initially, she declined the offer because she was uncomfortable leaving her young daughter. She believed that at least one parent should stay with their infant, especially since her daughter was only three and a half months old.

Sugandha elaborated on her nervousness and self-doubt regarding the performance. She shared that her husband and in-laws, including her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, encouraged her to accept the offer, assuring her not to worry about their baby. Sanket Bhosale also reassured her that they would return home on the first flight the next morning.

Sugandha’s Experience at the Event

After much contemplation, Sugandha decided to attend the event. Despite her extensive experience, she felt like a newcomer before stepping onto the stage. Although she had been performing since the age of six, the six-month break made her feel anxious about performing again.

Describing her experience, she said, “There was a crowd of 25,000 people; the entire Jamnagar was there, and the audience was huge and all VVIPs; mujhe laga main nahi kar paaungi (I felt I wouldn’t be able to do it).”

However, as soon as Sugandha took the stage and held the microphone, the crowd started cheering her name. In that moment, she realized that performing was her happy place. Resuming her work brought positive changes in her personality and made her appreciate her role as a mother even more.

Sugandha also mentioned how her lactation consultant advised her that a baby needs a happy and healthy mother, not a perfect one, emphasizing that there should be no mother’s guilt. Keeping this in mind, she delivered her performance with confidence.
