Actress Suhasi Dhami, known for her role in Aapke Aa Jane Se (2018), is set to make a comeback after five years with the mythological show Karmadhikari Shanidev. In the upcoming series, she will portray the characters of Sanghya Devi and Chhaya, adding a mythological touch to her diverse acting portfolio.
Sharing insights into her decision to join the mythological genre, Suhasi reveals, “I played the role of Parvati in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev in the last few episodes. So, it is not the first time that I am acting in a mytho show. I have worked with producer Nikhil Sinha before, and he was one of the reasons why I agreed to do Shanidev. Mytho shows are interesting, and it is not that I only like to do fiction.”
Addressing the challenges of a mythological role, she emphasizes the importance of understanding the dialect, especially when dealing with Sanskrit. Suhasi, who has previously featured in shows like Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli and Bas Those Se Anjane, reflects on the evolving landscape of television. She commends the industry for attempting different and diverse storylines, citing Anupamaa and Ghum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein as notable examples.
Looking ahead, Suhasi expresses her openness to exploring alternative platforms. She notes, “I don’t feel that one platform is better than the other. Every platform is great and interesting to work for.” Drawing inspiration from her sister-in-law Drashti Dhami, who has ventured into alternative platforms, Suhasi emphasizes the significance of the role over the platform. She states, “If I get an interesting opportunity, I would love to work in a web show or a film. It all depends on things falling into place at the right time.” Suhasi Dhami’s return to television with Karmadhikari Shanidev marks a versatile and exciting phase in her acting career.
