Renowned for her stellar performances in various television shows, Surbhi Tiwari recently found herself ensnared in a digital payment fraud incident during her visit to Ayodhya. The actress, known for her memorable roles in popular series such as “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii” and “Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli,” recounted her harrowing experience and issued a cautionary warning to others.
Tiwari narrated her ordeal to Etimes, revealing how she fell victim to an online scam while attempting to secure accommodation for her visit to the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir. Initially trusting a Dharamshala’s website recommended by a relative, Tiwari proceeded with the booking process, unaware of the impending deceit.
Detailing the sequence of events, Tiwari explained how she transferred Rs 2500 to the individual managing the booking via Google Pay, believing it to be a legitimate transaction. However, she soon found herself coerced into sending an additional sum as a security deposit, succumbing to the perpetrator’s manipulative tactics.
Realizing the deception, Tiwari sought assistance from locals upon sensing something amiss. A subsequent personal visit to the Dharamshala confirmed her suspicions, as the establishment disavowed any association with the fraudulent website or the contact numbers provided.
Taking swift action, Tiwari lodged a formal complaint at the Versova Police Station on March 1, promptly following the scam’s occurrence on February 29. Despite a slight delay in reporting the incident, she remains resolute in her pursuit of justice, emphasizing the significance of her hard-earned money.
With her courageous stance against fraud, Surbhi Tiwari serves as a beacon of awareness, shedding light on the prevalence of digital payment scams and urging vigilance among individuals. As an esteemed figure in the entertainment industry, Tiwari’s ordeal underscores the importance of safeguarding oneself against cyber threats, ensuring that others remain vigilant in the face of potential fraud.
