Suzanne Bernert, known for her role in the TV series Porus, is making a comeback with Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam: Radha Mohan, where she will portray the character of a terrorist. Discussing her return to television, Suzanne mentions, “After a considerable hiatus, I am back on TV. My previous show, Porus, concluded in November 2018, and prior to that, I was part of Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. In Radha Mohan, I take on the role of a terrorist, involving intense action and dramatic moments.”
Originally from Germany, Suzanne relocated to India in 2005 to pursue her acting career. She reflects, “Though I am of German origin, my acting journey commenced when I moved to India and secured a role in Astitva-Ek Prem Kahani. While I appreciate working in television, I’ve realized that as you age, TV often limits you to portraying motherly roles. Conversely, the realm of films offers a broader spectrum.”
Having appeared in films like Honeymoon Travels Ltd, No Problem, and more recently, The Accidental Prime Minister, Suzanne expresses her preference for films and web series. She states, “The opportunities for actors like us are more extensive in films and web shows. I find greater satisfaction in those mediums compared to television. On TV, you are typically cast as a daughter-in-law in your early 20s, and once you cross 30, you transition into playing the role of a mother-in-law. I hope to see more diverse and captivating content on television. The character I portray in Radha Mohan intrigued me, so I embraced the role. Additionally, I believe historical and mythological TV shows present compelling roles.”
