Part 64:
Next morning everyone was up for work and school. Kunal and Meghna finished their breakfast.
Kunal: Naina, you going into work with me and Meghna?
Naina: No thank you, I’ll be going with my husband.
Nikhil choked on his food.
Karan smirked.
Naina: Are you okay?
Nikhil: Yeah, just fine.
Meghna: Let’s go Kunal.
Everyone left leaving Naina and Nikhil.
Nikhil: Why did you want me to go to work with you.
Naina smiled: Why not?
Nikhil had no idea what Naina was planning, he just went along with it.
Naina was sitting in a different cabin today, just her and opposite her cabin was Nikhil sitting down and fidgeting. She needed to keep an eye on him, she needed to know what he was doing. Naina knew he was just a mole working for his mother. He wasn’t very smart.
Naina walked out of her office and went to Kunal and Meghnas cabin.
Meghna: Chiku? What if Nikhil sees?
Naina: Trust me he won’t.
Kunal: What’s up?
Naina: Yesterday night I heard Nikhil talking to Trishna, obviously I couldn’t ear what Trishna was saying but Nikhil was being Nikhil and kind of said what they’re planning, which is to break the family.
Meghna: How? Financially? Emotionally?
Naina: Not sure.
Kunal: Either one would cause the other if you think about it.
Naina: That’s true.
Meghna: Kunal, the other day Arjun took a picture of Nikhils phone log.
Kunal: Oh yeah.
Kunal got his phone out and looked for the photo.
Kunal: Here we go.
The 3 of them saw the photo and saw a few incoming and outgoing calls.
Meghna: I think this number is Trishna.
Naina: Yeah, we could try it.
Kunal: Not now.
Naina: Why not?
Kunal: It’s not the right time.
Meghna: What do you mean?
Kunal: You’ll find out soon.
Naina and Meghna exchanged looks.
Meghna: Whatever you say.
Naina left the cabin and went back to hers.
She completed her work and was thinking about Karan. She couldn’t talk to him face to face and when she did he had to act as her character; A betrayer. It hurt being someone else, she wasn’t used to it but she knew she had to do it.
That evening Nikhil had left Chauhan house and didn’t tell Naina where he was going.
Naina saw him leave the house.
Naina: Where is he going?
Meghna: Chiku?
Naina: Di, Nikhil has just left the house, he didn’t tell me where he went.
Meghna: Should we follow him?
Naina smiled: Let’s go.
Meghna: Should we go with the boys?
Kunal: Of course the boys will come, we’re not missing out on any fun.
Karan: Yeah, the excitement just started.
Naina and Meghna turned to see Karan and Kunal standing behind them.
Naina: Let’s go.
Kunal drove the four of them behind Nikhils car, they chose to take a different car so Nikhil wouldn’t know it was them following him.
Meghna: Why is he heading to a dead end?
Karan: Bhai, let’s stop here and then once he’s out of our way…
Naina: We’ll walk the rest of the way.
Kunal: Sure.
Kunal parked and then they waited for Nikhils car to be out of their sight and then they slowly made their way forward. They saw an abandoned building and Nikhil walking into it.
Naina: We need to get closer.
They slowly made their way and looked into the building from a window. They saw men packing things into boxes.
Kunal: Those are…
Meghna: Drugs.
Karan: Why would he come here?
They then saw Nikhil walk to a woman; Trishna.
Nikhil: Hi Mom.
Kunal: Mom ki bacha!
Karan: Yaar, these two are so stupid.
Naina: He is, I don’t know about her.
Meghna: What do we do now?
Naina: I go in.
Karan: Are you crazy?!
Meghna: Chiku that’s too dangerous.
Kunal: Naina, it’s drug heist of some sort, we can’t let you go in their alone.
Naina: Guys, I have to go and find. We can’t all go in.
Meghna: Chiku…
Naina: I’m telling you guys, if I go in there won’t be many questions and they’ll have to give me the answers.
Kunal: What if they don’t?
Naina: Jeeju, Nikhil will just splurge everything out soon.
Karan: Naina, you’re not going in by yourself.
Naina: You guys will have my back. I know you will.
Naina and Karan shared an eye lock.
Karan: Okay, but if you feel like you need us then signal and we’ll be there.
Naina: I will.
Karan kissed Nainas forehead.
Meghna held her sisters hand.
Naina: I’ll be fine Di.
Meghna: I know.
Kunal: Be careful Naina.
Kunal: I will Jeeju.
Naina walked into the building, the men carrying the boxes stopped and looked at her.
Worker: Ma’am, Sir! There’s an imposter!
Trishna and Nikhil looked over and saw Naina.
Nikhil smirked: That’s no imposter, that’s my wife.
Karan grew angry and frustrated, he balled his hands into a fist. Kunal and Meghna held each fist.
Kunal: Karan, don’t get so angry.
Meghna: Stay calm.
Karan took a deep breath: Thanks guys.
