Nand Kishore: Karan! Kunal!
Karan and Kunal froze, they couldn’t hide as Nand Kishore had already seen them.
Nand Kishore walked to them.
Nand Kishore: What are both of you doing here? You know that this is a ladies only function. Why did you come here?
Kunal: Dad! Actually…
Nand Kishore: Karan! Did you bring him here? I know Kunal won’t do all of this by himself, you must have brainwashed him!
Karan: Papa! Why would I brainwash Bhai?
Nand Kishore: So that he would get scolded by me! What can I even expect from you? From someone who has hidden himself behind his mother all his life! Nalayak!
Kunal: Dad! Karan did not force me to come here! I…
Nand Kishore: Stop covering up for him, Kunal! I did not expect this from you! You should have refused to come here! How could you come into Karan’s words?
Kunal: Dad!
Nand Kishore: Stop it, Kunal!
Karan walked away.
Naina followed.
Scene 2: Outside Meghna and Naina’s home
Karan had curled himself up into a ball and was crying.
Naina: Karan!
Karan: Hmmm
Naina: Uncle ki baaton ka bura kyun maan rahe ho?
Karan: Tumne suna nahi ki Papa ne abhi sab ke samne kya kaha? Mein nalayak hoon kya?
Naina: Karan! The people who look for faults in others spend no time correcting theirs. The negative things they say are a reflection of themselves. Aur tum nalayak nahi ho! You’re one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever met!
Karan looked up.
Karan: Sachhi?
Naina: Muchhi!
Scene 3: Meghna and Naina’s room
Kunal: Meghna! Why is Dad behaving like this?
Meghna: Chodo, Kunal! It’s ok! Papa he wo, unhe gussa hone ka poora hak hein!
Kunal: I agree! But not like this! How could he? Karan would never do this on his own! I wanted to see you and so Karan made a plan and we came here. It wasn’t Karan’s fault at all! How could Dad think that Karan brainwashed me?
Meghna: Kunal! Ek baat poochu?
Kunal: Haan.
Meghna: Papa ko kaise pata chala ki tum dono yahaan hein?
Kunal: Yes! How did Dad get to know? Only Karan and I knew about this plan!
Meghna: We’ll have to find out!
Kunal: Yes! Why don’t we check on Karan?
Meghna: Let’s go!
Scene 4: Outside
Meghna and Kunal met Naina and Karan.
Kunal: Karan! Did anyone else know that we were coming here in disguise?
Karan: No, Bhai! No one knew! I don’t understand how Papa came to know!
Meghna: We have to find out.
Naina: Haan.
Kunal: Karan, I want to talk to you.
Karan: Yes, Bhai!
Scene 5: Meghna and Naina’s room
Kunal: Karan! Tu theek hai? I know I have never shown care for you ever since childhood but aaj pehli baar mujhe aisa laga jaise Papa tumse nafrat karta hai! Maybe, I never noticed because I was always outside. I am sorry!
Karan: Bhai! Why are you saying sorry? Late hi sahi mujhe ehsaas to hua ki mere bimaari ke bawjood log mujhse pyaar karte hein!
Kunal: Kaunsi bimaari?
Karan: Meri bimaari!
Kunal: Kab aur kaise? Mujhe iske baare mein kyun nahi pata?
Karan: Bhai! Are you serious? Aapko meri bimaari ke baare mein pata nahi tha? I have a skin disease.
Kunal couldn’t believe it. This fact had been hidden from him for so many years! No one had ever told him that his younger brother was suffering from a disease. He felt so guilty! He had made fun of Karan for such minor things! He dropped to the ground crying.
Karan: Bhai! Bhai, why are you crying?
Kunal: I’m sorry! I didn’t know!
Karan: It’s okay, Bhai!
Kunal: It’s not okay! How could I?
Karan: Bhai! Stop crying! I love you and that’s all that matters!
Kunal looked up and saw a different Karan. A confident Karan.
Kunal: I love you too!

I’m so sorry sbout this. I know it was a very boring chapter. I can only continue this ff after my exams get over and I am extremely sorry for that. I truly feel terrible to keep you all hanging like this. I will be able to continue after December 15th.
