SWARAGINI; the story begins again [3]

As promised, here is the second chapter for today:

Music summer camp, Shimla…

After diner and regarding their still enmity, the two girls are asked to stay back in the common room they’re ordered to share until there different resolved. If the small Swara finds a companion for night in her fairytale book, small Ragini roams around the confined space like a lion in cage and soon she starts feeling hungry.

She opens a box she’s keeping in her cupboard and takes three biscuits opening her mouth full large shocking her roommate who raises her eyes from her lecture, her eyebrows shoot up in shock. Thinking about her manners, she puts the biscuits down and asks trying to swallow back her saliva:

– You want some? I saw you didn’t eat much at dinner table tonight!

Swara who has already focused her gaze on her book doesn’t reply making Ragini roll her eyes dramatically saying:

– Uffoff Marwadi! I know you’re hungry too and you’re not really reading that so cliché story in your book, your eyes are fixed on one spot since you smelt the odor of sweets!

She approaches her opening the box and offering her first but at the moment the small Swara looks up toward it she snatches it away biting her tongue out:

– Oops Sorry!!! I forgot

Showing one biscuit out, she says mimicking her disgusted antics:

– It’s fish shaped marwadi! You’ll not accept it!

About plunging the biscuit in her wide opened mouth again, she shocked to feel it snatched from her hand and her eyes widen as larger seeing that her roommate just gulped it in one go!

– Oh I love this kind of sweets, ended my box in the first two nights!

Small Ragini blinks her eyes few times before pinching her arm shouting painfully:

– AOUCH!!! So this is a reality! Have you just eaten a fish thing miss future perfect marwadi bahu?

Swara rolls her eyes at her getting up and taking more biscuits from her box stuffing them in her mouth, she says trying to swallow without suffocating:

– It’s not real fishes na! they’re delicious, bengalen!

As she repeats the action menacing her to finish the whole box alone, she exclaims angrily:

– Hey!!! Take it easy marwadi!!! Leave me some, na!

Ragini brings a plate where she pours the box contains and stays for a moment there, just looking still shocked to the girl facing her…

– You know, bengalen?… I’m half bengalen too!!!

This time she spills her mouth’s contain coughing badly in need of air, the small Swara pats her shoulder helpfully:

– Arey! Be careful… don’t look at me like that, my Dida is bengalen… my grandfather got married after my grandmother’s death to his young love bengalen neighbor… so… somehow, I’m half bengalen too!

Ragini frowns at her explanation saying:

– Are you serious… you seem so conservative…

– Ha, true! My family is very strict about traditions and relations, yet they’re opened to love… you should see Ma’s eyes when she sees Papa!

The little girl facing her explodes in laugher surprising her, she says sipping some water to stop her laughter:

– You didn’t see my baba’s look over Ma… and ha… marwadi ji… I’m half marwadi too, na!… mere baba is a pure blood marwadi!

– NO!!! how did he married your Ma?

– Just like your grandfather married your Dida na!

The two girls finish their night’s meal talking about their both mixed families and enjoying a first night in camp without fight!

Maheshwari mansion.

The party was reaching its end when Ragini and Laksh cut the huge cake made for the occasion, they feed each other, Ragini bends down taking his blessing and he makes her stands up hurriedly kissing her forehead not caring for the surrounding people’s whispers.

Ragini starts feeding family’s members, Bade papa, Bade Ma who at their ages smile fondly to the happiness filling this mansion, the happiness they’re missing so much since the small Laddoo left for her summer camp.

Turning toward her baba who blesses her happily, she stops in front of her Ma who takes the part of cake she’s presenting from her hand putting the other over her bending head for blessing without looking to her. Ragini’s moist seeing that she simply puts the sweet back on the table without tasting it.

Adarsh and Parineetha greets them happily but as soon as they approaches Ram Prasad and Sujatta, they’re faced with her angry pout turning her back to them walking to the kitchen. Ragini finds her sobbing when she comes the trail of rest of cake in hands giving it to servant so they could give all the guest their parts.

– Chachi…

– Deko chore… leave me alone! I can’t bear to see your face… what are you celebrating , huh? My sons disappearance or your sister’s?

She points her finger at her face angrily:

– Don’t you dare tell me that you have nothing to do with that, Ragini… live peacefully chore as long as you can… but one day… one day my son will be back bringing your truth with him… I’ll celebrate your defeat with this same cake then, chore!

Ragini corners her against the door and says her eyes popped out in anger menacingly:

– Don’t you dare to threaten me, Chachi… crime was ours in all ways and if I fall you’ll do too… thank god I’m still giving you the right of staying back in this mansion after all your son’s deed! Sanskar was a weak man who never accomplished anything… not protecting his love, neither taking revenge from family nor even helping his turned friend ten years ago… all he has always done is disappearing to avoid the reality!

– And until when will you avoid it too, Ragini?

Sharmistha’s voice startles her in her back, she turns back to her frowning:

– Until when will avoid what happened ten years back, beta? One day… one day Swara and Sanskar will be back here and then tell me, Ragini? What will you do?

– I’m sorry ma, but the people you’re waiting for will never be back, Sanskar returned to the unknown world he was living in before returning back in our lives then… and Swara… she’ll never come back!

Mumbai…

The night’s veil has landed over the seaside’s sands by now and in an installed bed in a framed fortunate room formed by posters and white corners, a couple was resting their exhausted bodies after a delightful love making witnessed by the full round moon and his stars along with the majestic imposing ocean untiringly laying on and back their surroundings.

An arm under his hand, Sanskar gaze in lost in the endless darkness of the sky, his thoughts scrambling between past and present, happiness and guilt… truth and lies!

He looks down to the woman sleeping in his embrace, his chest serving her for pillow and her adorable face hidden by her silky black strands… looking up again he whispers:

– Happy anniversary, Lucky!

A moan alerts him that his princess is about emerging from her dreamland, her loving gaze brushing over his face’s features as she nestles herself more in his arms saying:

– Who is lucky?

Her innocent question makes him smile to her, he caresses her hair back discovering the face incarnating what he has as precious in his life ever… pointing his finger up to the sky, he sees her follow its direction to see a falling star… then another… another…

– Make a wish princess… make all your wishes… tonight, they’re all fulfilled!

Summer camp…

The two girls, changed in their pajamas are about taking their places in their bed after a first night which revealed being filled with surprises. The small Swara says taking her glasses off to put them on her table side:

– But even with all this, I’ll never be able to call you by your name Bengalen!

– Kyu?

– Because it’s my Ma’s name!

Ragini turns back to her shocked making her sits back up in her bed asking:

– Kya hua?

– Ragini is my mother’s name too, Bengalen!

Both of them frown confusedly, destiny is playing with them a strange game tonight and coincidence is making that they’re almost like each other despite representing the opposite!

Ragini doesn’t think further, taking her pocket lamp out, she wishes her good night and walks toward the door:

– Hey, Ragini? Have you gone mad? Where are you going at this hour, bengalen!!! They’ll call our parents if we make any problem again!

– Miss Swara Laksh Maheshwari… stay here if you want… I am going to watch the meteor shower which will not be back before a century!

– Ragini!!! RAGINI!!!

The small Swara follows her out whispering angrily;

– You mad bengalen! You know the rules na, you make faults, we pay together… do you know what my mother would do if she knows I’m out at this time of night!

Ragini didn’t reply keeping her eyes focused on the road she chose to not be caught by educators and soon they reach the forbidden bridge they asked her to never go on alone. Her foot slips a bit making the both of girls shout in horror, but she’s caught at time by her roommate who complains again:

– You’ll finish by kill us here! I didn’t even took my glasses… I barely see anything here, na!

– Oh Swara! Can’t you just shut up, here we are!

She grips her hand making her stand steady then turning off the light she pushes on her chin making her look up:

– deko Swara… I’m sure that even without your glasses you’re seeing them… beautiful na?

the small girl joins her hands making a silent wish enjoying the magic moment when her roommate too fearful of the consequences turns her back to her saying:

– you’re completely mad, bengalen! I’m returning back to…. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH RAGINI!!!!!

All of sudden a sound of splash and her friend’s scream snatch the small Ragini from her prayer making her look around in shock:

– SWARA!!!

In this middle of night, a young Swara’s struggling against the river’s flows under bridge on which young Ragini is standing situation makes the both older Swaragini’s hearts alarmed!
