~~A Nightmare~~
Sanskar’s pov ~~
~She sat beside me, head on my shoulders, while I wrapped my arms around her.
“I’m cold.” She complained. I smiled and pulled her close.
“Are you now?” I asked. She shook her head and laughed.
I dont know for how long we sat there, cuddling with each other. But it seemed like world outside didnt exist. It was just me and her. We were inside my house, in the living room and it was raining outside.
“I love you.” She blurted out all of a sudden. I kissed the top of her head.
“I know. I love you too, Swara Roy.” I said.
Just as she was about to say something, the front door burst open, revealing a dark shadowy figure. I thought I’d locked the door. . .
We got up as the shadow approached us. Swara grabbed my hand, and I gave it a squeeze saying everything’s gonna be okay, and that there was nothing to be afraid of.
As the figure came close, under the lights, we could see his face. His dark, black eyes, were full of anger, and it seemed as if he was going to kill somebody. He walked towards us, and the moment I saw his face, I froze.
Ishaan…
It was Ishaan standing there like some serial killer from a movie. There was pin-drop silence in the whole house. All we could hear was the sound of the rain along with the thundering.
Ishaan smirked and looked at Swara. She was confused. Just like me.
“Say your goodbyes, Swara. You won’t be seeing him anymore.” Ishaan said as he removed a gun from the back, and pointed it towards me.
“Ishaan? Ishaan! No…please don’t do this.” Swara begged, while I stood there frozen. Ishaan was going to kill me? For what?
“I should’ve done this long before. But they say ‘Its never too late.’ Goodbye Sanskar.” He said, before pulling the trigger.
A loud banging, deafening sound surrounded me. I couldn’t hear a single thing, and also, I couldn’t feel any pain in my body. Is this how it feels when you’re shot?
I opened my eyes, which were closed only to see something I never wanted to see…
Swara…
She was lying on the floor, lifeless, in a pool of blood.
No, no, no… Please…
I cried. “Swara? Swara! No, no, please, get up, baby. Please don’t do this, please get up. Swara!”
And she laid in my arms lifeless. Her body was ice cold and pale. I cried, holding her against my body.~
I shot my eyes only to be surrounded by an unfamiliar atmosphere. I wasn’t in my living room. It wasn’t raining outside. Ishaan wasn’t here. Swara wasn’t here …too!
f**k.
That was a dream. I sighed and sat up straight, trying to process everything. I saw Ishaan. Ishaan tried to kill me. But Swara died…wait, she DIED?
I panicked. What if it was all real? I quickly grabbed my phone, and dialled Swara’s number. I didn’t even care whether she was awake or not. I just needed to listen to her voice.
It rang. C’mon, pick up. I mumbled, biting my nails, but her phone kept on ringing. She wasn’t answering….
What the hell. She never ignored anybody’s call. Worried enough, I was about to call her again, but my phone started ringing itself.
Swara calling…
Praise the Lord…
“Swara, are you okay? Why can’t you just pick up your phone when it rings?!” I exclaimed angrily.
“Whoa. Chill, Sanky. What’s up, are you okay?” She asked and I felt relief washed over me after hearing her voice again. I sighed.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have… I just had a bad dream. But are you sure, you’re okay?” I asked, once again to confirm that what I saw was only a dream.
“Hey, dont worry. I’m fine. What could possibly happen to me after surviving such a terrible accident?” She said.
“Okay, good. I’ll talk to you later, okay? I need to clear my head. I’m sorry.” I said and hung up.
What a scary dream that was. It was really hard to get it out of my head. Specially Ishaan….why would he try to kill me?
“Don’t think about it, Sanskar. Its just a nightmare. Forget it.” I said to myself and decided to keep myself busy and not to about that nightmare. I mean, the important thing was Swara was alive and fine, right? Nothing else mattered.
A few hours passed and I’d been successful in keeping myself busy with my laptop, Ashmit and Mickey. I was sending an important mail to my manager, when my phone buzzed.
Ishaan calling…
That name was enough to bring back the whole nightmare. But it was just a nightmare, wasn’t it? There was no need to hate Ishaan or anything. I answered his phone.
“Hey, bro. Where the hell have you been, huh?” He asked. Now we may not be best friends like before, but thanks to Swara, for getting us on talking terms.
“Hi. Just busy with some stuff. Where did you disappear?” I asked. I still remember the last time I saw him at Laksh’s place, few days after Ragini’s birthday. After that, he just disappeared.
“I was um…busy with some stuff. I had to go back to London. Anyway, uh… I heard about Swara. I’m really sorry man. How’s she?” He asked.
“She’s pretty good. She’s recovering.” I said.
“Does she uh…remember anything?” He asked.
“No, not yet. But I hope she will, soon.”
“Oh. Okay. Anyway, don’t worry. She’ll be fine.” He said.
“Yeah.” I replied. I expected him to say something else, but he just hung up…
Great…
It seemed like such a long day. I wanted to go back to sleep, but I also didn’t want to have any kind of nightmare. It sucked…
Swara’s pov ~~
He had a nightmare about me?
He sounded so worried. Just like last night, when I spooked him out. Was he going to be okay? I didn’t think so. I knew he’d think about the nightmare all day. I was really worried about him now.
Just then when I was thinking about how to cheer him up, an idea crossed my mind… Sleepover! We could have a sleepover tonight. Maybe it would help him out…
I immediately called Ragini, my supposedly best friend, I knew nothing about, and also the one who ruined my homecoming party. She’d come to meet me after all the drama, and she even apologised for that, and since I didn’t know anyone else properly, I decided to ask Ragini for help.
“Look who called!” She said in her cheerful voice.
“Actually…uh!… needed some help!” I said.
“Oh. I’d be honoured to help you, Miss Roy.”
“Okay, now stop being dramatic please. Actually, I needed a favour.” I said.
“Uh-uh. Go on.”
“Are you free tonight? I was planning kind of a.. sleepover, you know? You, me, your boyfriend and –” I said, but she cut me off.
“I and Laksh are in!” She exclaimed. Oh yes, Laksh, I kinda forgot his name.
“O-okay…um…and there’s Sanskar also.” I added as she gasped.
“Ooooh! Then why are we coming? We don’t wanna be the third wheel…” She said. I smiled as I felt heat rising up my cheeks.
“No, it’s um..nothing like that. I want you guys to come. Actually Sanskar called this morning, and he was pretty frustrated because of some nightmare he had last night. I just want to make him feel better, you know?” I said. Ragini laughed from the other side.
Was I being too weird?
“Awww…! That’s so sweet of you. Don’t worry, Raglak will be there at your place, ma’am, by 8 pm.” She said.
“Okay, thanks. Bye.” I said and hung up.
I couldn’t wait anymore. I hope my plan works out and he feels better…
