Swasan : Destiny (Episode 9)

Credit to Ridhima for casting Zain Imam as Ishaan. I think he suits the character as Ishaan is handsome yet a very grey character. And a big thank you to everyone who commented and gave their valuable opinions. I thank everyone wholeheartedly. Always need your support 🙂

Swara’s pov~ (Ishaan’s party)

“I gotta go. Excuse me.” I said and left.

Then when I was least expecting I felt someone grip my hand. It was Ishaan. He gently led me to the dance floor where people were grinding against each other.

“Ish I can’t dance.” I protested.

“C’mon Swara. Just one dance. Don’t play a party pooper.” He insisted. I sighed and gave in.

His hands rested on my waist. He held me tight as we swayed to the music. I felt very uncomfortable under his touch.

From corner of my eye I could see Sanskar intently staring at me. He was angry. He looked betrayed. That was enough to send chills down my body.
“Where’s your mind babe ?” Ish asked.

“um. . Nowhere. I need to use the toilet. Excuse me.” I said and left a baffled Ishaan behind.

I went straight into the balcony. “Okay. Don’t be a coward. Go in. Have fun. Don’t think about him.” I chanted to myself while pacing around impatiently.

“Think about whom?” A voice from my back startled me. I abruptly turned back to see only a confused Laksh.

“Hey. What’s up ?” I asked him to change the topic.

“Sanskar. Isn’t it ? You were thinking about him.” He stated. I sighed as both of us leaned back on the railing. I wondered how he came to know about it. I didn’t think Sanskar would talk about us with anyone.

“How do you know ?” I asked.

“Everyone can see it Swara. Except that stupid Ishaan.” He chuckled. I was amused as how could Laksh call his friend stupid ? “Do you like him. I mean do you like Sanskar ?”

Like ? I love him silly. But I didn’t say so. I just nodded. He sighed and turned to face me.

“I don’t really know what happened exactly between you two ? But all I know for sure is that he really likes you. In fact more than liking.” He said.

“But did he tell you anything ? As in about us ?” I asked.

Laksh nodded. “Just a little. Like I know you both have had a lot of history together. That you both were together and then you left him. But he didn’t tell me why it ended.”
Only if he knew Laksh. Only if he knew.

“I have hurt him way too much.” I said.

“I don’t know about that. Only you two can figure about what’s actually between you two. But all I can say is that I know what you are going through right now. I shouldn’t be saying this but I know how Ishaan is. I just want you to know whenever you need a shoulder to cry on, I m there for you.” He said.

That was really sweet of him. I smiled at his gesture.”Thank you Laksh.” I said.

“Mention not. This is what friends are for.” He said. I nodded.

“Yeah anyway. I think we both should go inside.” I said. We walked inside and I wished that the party ends soon . . .

Sanskar’s pov ~ (Ishaan’s party)

Loud music blasting through the speakers fueled my anger. I sat away from the party like a loner. People were dancing, laughing and chatting over a drink. While I was sulking in my own sorrows.

“C’mon Sanskar ! Lets dance ?” Rohan pulled me from my seat. I wasn’t even in mood to talk to anyone with straight face. Let him alone be dancing like a maniac.

“No I m fine. You go.” I said over music.

“You don’t look fine bud. What’s up ?” He asked.

“nothing’s up. You leave me alone !” I said.

“But – -” He was interrupted by Laksh. He stepped in between us. “Its okay Rohan. He ll be fine. You go and have fun.” Said Laksh. Rohan shrugged and walked away leaving me alone with him.

I looked at Swara past Laksh. She was swaying with Ishaan. His hands rested on her bare waist which was exposed by the crop top she wore. The way he touched her skin I felt like ripping his head off.

“Stop looking at them.” Laksh said interrupting my thoughts. He was the only person who knew about my past with Swara. I could trust him with it. At the same time I couldn’t keep it inside me forever.

“Why do you still think about her so much ? Look at them. They are happy together. Its so obvious Sanskar that she’s not coming back with you.” He said. I shook my head not ready to accept this even after two years of loneliness and suffering.

“Sanskar yaar. She’s happy. She’s not thinking about you at the moment.” He added. I looked at Swara. She was now arguing with Ishaan. She pushed him away and walked out of the dance floor.

“You are right. She does look happy.” I said sarcastically.

“Okay. Maybe she’s not. But she has moved on. Why can’t you do the same thing ?” He asked. I cocked my head at one side and looked at him as if he was crazy. The answer was evident in my expression.

“Because I love her. I will always love her. You won’t understand Lucky. Everytime I ask her about why she left me she starts avoiding me like plague. It hurts.” I said.

“Well if its bothering you so much Sanky I think you should talk to her about it. You certainly do have a right to know the reason behind this. Ask her Sanskar.” He said. I chuckled.

“I would have gotten my answers two years back itself if it was that easy. But it isn’t. She’s not gonna say it. But I can see how much she’s hurting herself as well.” I said.

“Yeah. I saw that too. She does think about you. She does have feelings for you. I have noticed the way she looks at you. But you have to clear things with her bud. Let me give you a tip. Girls prefer guys who talk to them first and not the other way round. Just try once. You might get your answers this time.” He said.

Maybe he was right. . . No he was damn right. I had all the right to demand the answers. She was not the only one in the relationship. It was the both of us. It was Swara and Sanskar. It was Swasan. I had to talk to her in order to clear my mind.

“You are right. For the first time you have helped me in real.” I said.

“What the f**k?” He asked, offended.

“Just kidding. I gonna go and talk to her right now.” I said a little too enthusiastically.

“That’s my boy. Man up, dude.” He cheered and pumped his fist in the air like I was going to run away a marathon. I got up from my seat with immense courage but it all vanished as a sudden feeling of nervousness washed over me. I sat over again.

“I can’t do this.” I muttered.

“Where did the confident Sanskar go ?” He asked.

“Screw confidence. I can barely stand in front of her after what happened yesterday.” I said and immediately regretted. I wasn’t supposed to bring up the ‘kiss’ in front of Laksh.

“We happened to bump into each other at a cafĂ©. She took me to her home after that.” I said and didn’t bother to explain him further incidents.

“What did you two do? Sanskar please don’t tell me you two did some funny business. . .” He said a little cautiously.

“No dude. We kissed.” I confessed. He rolled his eyes and leaned back on his seat.

“You are in deep trouble mate.” He concluded. “But I do have a solution to all your problems.” He added and abruptly got up from the seat. Before I could react he was dragging me somewhere.

“What the hell are you doing ?” I asked as he pulled me away with my arm.

“you my friend need some encouragement to talk to her. And I know exactly what can help you.” He said and dragged me towards the . . .bar?

“No no no no. Don’t even think about it. I m not drinking.” I warned.

He took some drink from the bartender.

“Dont worry. Its not that strong. You ll be fine.” Laksh reassured.

“Are you mad ? I m not getting wasted. How can you even hand me a drink ?” I asked. He scoffed.

“Nothing is going to happen. Its just a little vodka. Plus if you get too high I ll be there to handle you.” He said.

“That’s what I m worried about. Just keep that back.” I ordered. He shook his head mumbling a no. Before I could protest he handed me the drink. I eyed him for a couple of seconds and then gave in.

I gulped down the drink in one go. Soon I was craving for more.
“One more.” I ordered. Laksh looked at me bewildered.

“One is enough you know.” He said as I gulped another glass. I ordered another.

“Sanskar that’s enough. You don’t want to end up here lying like a dead man. Do you ?” He asked.

“No just chill out. You only told that I needed help. Here I m taking some help.” I said. Like that I was soon six drinks down.

“I m not to blamed for your hangover, you idiot.” He said. Everything around me was staring to get dizzy.

“Don’t worry I m okay. I need to talk to Swara. Where is she ?” I asked.

“I think you should ask her when you are sober.” He suggested.

“No you know. I can’t do that properly when I m sober. I m this little monkey when I m in front of her who can barely talk. I have to do this tonight.” I slurred and wandered off looking for Swara.

Seriously that was one rough night . . .
