Recap: Laksh confronts Sanskar….. Swara’s dilemma continues…

Evening, Siya’s room

All were gathered in her room, panicked to see the princess of the house in such miserable condition. Siya was continuously crying the time she came back from the school. Everyone tried to calm her and to know the reason behind but all efforts were proved futile. All she was chanting in between her cries was Sanskar’s name….
Annapurna: (sensing something serious) Ragini just call Sanskar, ask him to be at home at soon as possible
She nodded and immediately made a call….
Swara tried to make her have some water but she jerked her hand away. In no time Sanskar was there in mansion…. He hurriedly made his way to her room and got worried to see his daughter like this…. realizing Sanskar’s presence she ran to him and started crying loudly clinging to his legs….
Sanskar: (placing her on his lap) What happened princess? Why are you crying?
Siya: (sobbing) Dad… am I not your real daughter? … ..are you not my father?
He was taken aback with her words… never in his bad dreams he ever imagined to face such situation, although he knew one day he has to but not so sooner….. all were numb to hear that…. He was speechless, the time finally came when he has to face it, there was no retreat…..
Siya: (shaking him) tell me dad!! Is it true? This is not my family?
Sanskar: (cupping her face) who told you this?
Siya: Rohan, my classmate…. His mother told him that, is it true dad?
Sanskar: (after a long silence) yes….
The moment he said “yes” she jumped from his lap and ran to a corner of her room, leaving him all shocked…
Siya: (crying) he was right…… you are a liar, I don’t want to talk to you
He looked at her with blank eyes, the person whom he loved the most was accusing him today…he stood up and hastily moved out of the room… Swara stared his retreating form with teary eyes. She knew he was hurt, hurt badly and it displeased her
Swara holding Siya’s hand “Siya come here, sit”
Siya: Rohan was right, dad is a liar…..
Annapurna with teary eyes “he is not a liar laddoo, he loves you a lot”
Siya: (angry) then why he is not my real dad, you all lied to me, I don’t want to talk to anybody…. Go….
They didn’t know how to answer her questions. It was difficult to make her understand the truth….
Swara: (held Annapurna’s hand) aunty, don’t worry, I will make her understand, just give me some time…..
Annapurna strode out of the room followed by Ragini and Sujata…..
Swara: (coming close to Siya) see everyone left… now please have this water, don’t you listen your Shona di….
She took the glass from her and drank it….
“Good girl” Swara said patting her cheek
Siya: (sobbing) why dad lied to me Shona di? He himself told me lying is a bad habit…
Swara: (wiping her tears) he didn’t lied to you Siya…. He was just waiting for you to get little older, so he can tell you everything
Siya: how you know?
Swara: because he himself told me that he was planning to tell you the truth after your final exams…
Siya: really!!
Swara: yes dear… see he loves you a lot, you shouldn’t behave like this….
Siya: (disappointed) all were teasing me in my class….
Swara: you know dear, why they tease you because they are jealous of you…
Siya: (confused) Jealous!!!
Swara: yes jealous, because you have the best dad in the world, who won’t be jealous, even I get sometimes….
Siya looked at Swara with her innocent eyes, struggling between whether to believe her or not….

Night, Sanskar’s room

He was standing there, broken and shattered…. His dark eyes were blank today, showing nothing but pain…. In hope of finding some peace he was staring the sky …..
“Sanskar” his mother’s voice brought him back
Annapurna: (placing her hand on his shoulder) Are you ok dear?
Sanskar: (averting his gaze) yeah, I am fine…. How is Siya?
Annapurna: she is fine now, she is in her room with Swara, Swara even made her to have her diner…
Sanskar: (with a deep sigh) hmmm…good
Annapurna: Sanskar, this has to happen one day….we can’t hide the truth from her forever
Sanskar: I know mom but I didn’t want it to be in this way….. I wanted her to tell it by myself, moreover she is still so young to deal with all this….
Annapurna: you know Sanskar it’s easy to mold the pot when clay is unripe… give her some time, she will be normal…
Sanskar: (sad eyes) I hope so….

Night, Siya’s room

The fiery princess was calm now, continuous talking of Swara helped her to distract her mind and brought her back to normal….
Swara: (making her lye on the bed) come Siya… we will sleep now
Siya: (innocently) Shona di, why dad is not my real father?
Swara: (looked at her with love) because you and your dad are special…. You are a gift of God to him
Siya: (confused) gift of God?
Swara: yes… ok let me tell you a story, do you want to hear?
Siya: yes….
Swara: you know Siya what is the meaning of your name? It’s on mother Sita, she has been called as Siya… have you heard the story of Ramayana?
Siya: yeah….once dadi ma told me, there was a bad man in that story named Ravan…
Swara: (smiled) yes dear…. But I want to tell you about Sita and her father King Janak…. She wasn’t the real daughter of Janak, he found her in a groove as a small baby girl when he was ploughing a field. The king was kind hearted so he adopted her and declared her as his own child…. You know they are regarded as world’s best father and daughter. Mother Sita was god’s gift to king Janak like you are to your father…..
Siya: (innocently) so dad is king Janak and I am Sita….
Swara: (smiles) kind of, you both correlate with them…. As you both are special just like them….
Siya: yes we both are special…
Swara: ok tell me isn’t he a best dad in the world?
Siya: he is….
Swara: and you know what you are the best daughter in the world that’s why he loves you more than anything…. You both love each other and those who love each other are called family… does it matter you are real daughter or not?
Siya: (looking at Swara) no… but Shona di I hurt him today na, he must be angry on me…
Swara: no dear he wouldn’t be but promise me next time you won’t pay heed to any of this nonsense…..
Siya: I promise. I will not….. I want to say sorry to dad, can we go….
Swara: not now, it’s late…. We will do it in the morning…… now sleep like a good girl ok….

An hour later, Siya’s room

Exhausted from the emotional trauma of the entire day, Siya was fast asleep… Swara was still there, sitting close to her holding her hand…. She got alert on hearing some footsteps approaching the room. She saw him standing there at the door step with pale face. It was a painful sight for her to look at him like that…..
Swara: (stood up from the bed) I was just about to leave…
Sanskar: (interrupting her) it’s ok…. Stay
She was struck by his request. Now it was her turn to give him a comfort….
Swara: want to have coffee?
“Yeah sure” he replied
As she left he turned to look at her loving daughter who was sleeping peacefully. Her one look was enough to fade away all his worries… he sat besides her, caressing her hairs he placed a soft kiss on her forehead….
“Mr. Maheshwari, here is your coffee” her voice made him look at her, standing beside him with two cup of coffee….
Sanskar: (tight smile) thanks….
Passing a cup he sat next to him…..
Sanskar: (while sipping) you are really awesome with your coffee…..
Not convinced with his praise she gave him a suspicious look….
Sanskar: (observed that) No…. I really mean it, trust me…
Swara: (smiles) I trust you….
The truth of her words struck him hard. He was surprised “how can she trust me after what all happened” he thought. Breaking the awkward silence she spoke….
Swara: Siya is a kid and it is difficult for her to understand all this at this tender age….
Sanskar: (guilty eyes) I think it’s my fault… I failed as a father, if I would have handled everything wisely my daughter didn’t have to suffer like this…..
Swara: it’s not your fault… you know what, I always believed my father was the best father of the world and no doubt he was… his love for me and Ashu was unconditional…. Although it is not that difficult to love your own kids, your very own blood… but loving someone who is not at all related to you in any way is something called selfless love…. Siya is blessed to have you as her father, she could never get anyone better than you.
He could feel the genuineness and honesty in her words…. But he never thought he would hear something like that from her, precisely for him…. He silently gazed at her, admiring her understanding of relationship and her maturity at such young age….
Swara: (hesitantly) Mr. Maheshwari I…. actually I never intended to intrude in your personal life, Ragini told…..
Sanskar: (interrupting her) It’s ok Miss Bose…. If you can trust me then I can also trust you…

So, they trust each other but they don’t know that trust is first step towards love…..
