Morning, Maheshwari Mansion
They were back to home. Swara was in her room, deeply brooding over something…..
Swara’s POV
Why I am not happy to be back? This is what I wanted, then why I am missing his presence around. The way he cared for me there in Delhi, his concern, his possessiveness that wasn’t fake. Do I misjudge him? Should I give him a chance or perhaps to us? Oh God! You are so confusing Mr. Maheshwari…..
“Swara”
The voice brought her back to the present….. she turned around and found him standing at her door step….. “Think of devil and devil is here” she murmured
Sanskar: you said something?
Swara: No, nothing….. By the way, you are here?
Sanskar: yeah, get ready… we have to go to hospital
Swara: (confuse) what!!! But why??
Sanskar: for your last follow up. I have talked to Dr. Tandon, he suggested for a last check up
Dr. Tandon was the doctor who treated Swara when she was shot. Sanskar had been in regular touch with him since then, discussing about Swara’s health….
Swara: (annoyed) I am absolutely fine now….
Sanskar: (sternly) are you a doctor?
He stared her with firm eyes for a moment, annoyed with her reluctance…
Sanskar: Swara, you have 10 minutes, get ready…. I am waiting for you downstairs, come soon
With his commanding words he left leaving Swara infuriated….

In living room
Sanskar was waiting for swara, when he looked at Laksh descending down from stairs…..
“Hey bhai, came back!! How was the trip?” he said in his usual chirpy and playful manner
Sanskar: good, the Singhals are impressed with our proposal, though they will disclose their final decision next week but I am sure it gonna be in our favor…
Laksh looked at his brother with narrowed eyes, uninterested in his business talks….
Laksh: I am not asking about this….
Sanskar: (raising a brow) then what?
Laksh: Don’t act so innocent, you know what I mean…. you are so disappointing…
Sanskar: aren’t you happy to see me back in two pieces?
Laksh: (confused) what??
Sanskar: yeah, otherwise you have planned everything to get me killed….
Laksh: I thought you will be thankful to me
Sanskar: (mocked) thankful ha, for what? You know what because of your stupidity I have to bear the blame for all that, fortunately things didn’t turn worst….
Laksh: (playfully) all well that ends well…. You should be grateful because of me you got the privilege to be with her so close….
Sanskar reminisces the moment they had together, their closeness in that room….
Sanskar: (grin) thanks… happy now??
Laksh observed his changed expressions as if something flashing in his mind….
Laksh: (playfully) So you had fun time with her ha, anything happened?
The mischievous glint of his eyes conveyed Sanskar what he was talking about…..
Sanskar: (annoyed) shut up lucky…. How could you be so shameless!! I am your elder brother….
Laksh was about to reply but stopped seeing Swara coming towards them
“We will talk about this later” he whispered close to Sanskar…
“Hi Laksh” Swara greeted as she came up to them
“Hi dear, how was the exam?” Laksh asked
“It was ok” she replied
Laksh: Ok guys, see you in the evening….. Bhai are you coming to office?
Sanskar: yeah, but will be little late….
“It’s ok take your time” he said with his usual teasing tone and walked out, Sanskar annoyingly looked at his little brother…..

At Hospital, Dr.’s cabin
Sanskar with Swara was in talk with Dr. Tandon…. He checked Swara and declared her perfectly fine, Sanskar was much relieved now…
Swara: Dr. would this bullet mark fade away or not?
Dr.: (smile) it will fade away with time but not completely. If you are concerned, can go for plastic surgery.
Swara: (faded smile) No, there is nothing like that, I just asked…
Taking a leave from Doctor, they were on the way back to home…..
Sanskar: (while driving) Swara, I need to give this file to Laksh, it’s urgent. In morning I forgot…. So, we have to go to office first, then I will drop you home…..
Swara: I will go back, you go to office…
Sanskar: No, I will drop you home… it will take just 5 minutes
Now she was very much aware of his commanding tone, it was useless to argue with him on that, so she kept quiet…..
Sanskar: (looking at her) Swara, why you asked about mark? Are you really bothered?
Swara: hmmm, kind of…
Sanskar: it’s not going to lessen your attractiveness, believe me….
Swara: (shocked) it’s not that bothering me…
Sanskar: then what??
Swara: This mark reminds me of that horrible incident, the pain I suffered…. And moreover the cruelty of people….
Her words struck him hard, realization of his failure to protect her once again hit him, guilt spread across his face…
Sanskar: I am sorry, It’s all my fault, if I….
She interjected realizing he took her words as blame on him “No, I didn’t mean that…. Honestly I never regretted doing that and if stuck again in the same situation, I will do the same…..Actually I tried hard not to think about it but whenever it comes across my sight reminds me all that”
Sanskar: Swara, every situation has two aspects, a positive and a negative…. It’s on us what we wanna look, why do you look at it like this? You can treasure this mark as a sign of your bravery, it should remind you that you saved someone’s life, you have a mark of proud indeed….
She looked at him with a smile on her lips and tears in her eyes…..
Sanskar: (shook his head) now don’t you dare to cry….
Swara: (turning her face) I am not crying…
Sanskar: (smile) good…

Outside office…
It was the first time Swara came to his office, Maheshwari Construction limited, she read the giant letters engraved on the top of the building…. A multi floor building it was, quite big…. She was lost in scanning the surrounding….
Sanskar: (shaking swara) What!!!
She came back to her senses….
Swara: Do you want me to come, I mean I can wait here…..
Sanskar: it’s my place, why you are so bothered, come let’s go….
She entered with him, all eyes were on her….. The entire staff was little surprised to see a girl with him, precisely a female of non-business world…. The people who work for him knew him as a workaholic, who shuns himself from other pleasures of life or could say dire habits like girls and excessive drinking…. No affairs, no link-ups, no gossips for him, this is the reason for utmost respect he earned in corporate world.
All greeted him as he surpassed them, Swara was little nervous with so many strange eyes scanning her from tip to toe, both male and female…. She thought better to look down…..
“Watch out” Sanskar exclaimed as she was about to stumble, holding her hand from one of his and other wrapping around her shoulder…. She gasped, the situation become more awkward, all were eyeing them……
Sanskar: where is your mind Swara??
“I am sorry” nervously she said and quickly departed from him….. “I want to use washroom” she softly whispered and he signaled her to the direction…..

Inside Washroom
For last fifteen minutes she was sitting quietly inside the toilet, cursing herself for being there……she wasn’t used to of such awkward situations, and familiarity of his feelings towards her made it more difficult for her to stand those piercing gazes……
Swara: (herself) Swara, are you planning to spend entire day here?
She decided to move, few of the women entered inside as she moved to open the door knob….
“It’s Miracle, Sanskar sir with a girl…” a woman stated
Swara stayed inside as she heard them talking about her and him….
“Might be a friend or relative…. Why you all are so astound” other one replied
“Didn’t you see the way sir held her when she was about to slip, they are not just friends for sure” the earlier one exclaimed
“Might be, none of our business…..” third one clarified
“Off course you can say that Sana because you are married but we singles are heartbroken today, our hot and s*xy boss no more single, it’s a sad news” other one said disappointedly and then they laughed together
“Well, she is pretty…. what you say guys?” one of them asked
“Yeah but not extra ordinary, there are so many girls in our office who are more beautiful than her. But he never laid his eyes on anyone” other one replied
“I don’t think he loves her or something, might be a family’s choice or how can we forget he has a daughter, who knows they are together because of that” the woman commented putting a lipstick
“Then why he didn’t married all these years, if he wished he could marry any girl” Sana asked
“Dear Sana, how many girls you know who would love to get a school going daughter as a wedding present…. Obviously that girl was ready for this compromise happily” other one replied
“I don’t think Sanskar sir would ever agree for such marriage, he is not like that” Sana defended
“Might be he agreed for the sake of her daughter and don’t miss he is getting an attractive girl as his wife, after all he is a man and men have their own desires” she said and they all laughed aloud
“You guys are disgusting, let’s go… we are not paid for gossiping about our boss behind his back” Sana said
“Well whatever be the reason, that girl is lucky…. She has one of the most desirable man of the town, either with love or without” one of them said with a sigh…
They all giggled and walked out of the wash room…..
Swara heard all their conversation, she was shattered completely….. tears brimmed in her eyes, with effort she moved out of the washroom and ran towards the exit, tears rolling down her cheeks continuously.

At reception
Sanskar waited for her in his cabin but when she didn’t retreat for long he decided to look out for her….
Sanskar: (to her receptionist) Neha, where is Swara…. I mean the girl came with me, have you seen her?
“Sir, she left a while ago” she replied
“left!!” he murmured, daze with Swara’s sudden departure

Evening, Swara’s room
The room was filled with darkness, she was sitting at the corner of the bed with her head bend on her knees, the moment she entered in her room broke down, the pain she was holding back all oozed out…. she cried out till all her tears dried…..
“It’s enough now…. I have to end this game of deception and lies. People are bad mouthing me because of him. Why should I bear all this humiliation when it’s not at all my fault? I have come here for a job not for all this….”composing herself she wiped her tears and promised to make everything right in her life
