Recap : Ragini’s Past
(Guys I do not know whether you would appreciate the content that I am bringing up but I want you all to know that it is very much needed to bring about awareness in society. Many will think that all age group people read .So it’s all about child abuse, kind of rape etc. So if you are comfortable read else kindly ignore the same)
This time the update has more of Third Person’s POV and less of conversation.. So enjoy your long update 🙂
Bose house
That same day, the entire Bose house was settled for dinner and Ragini was thinking of the words that Laksh was saying so she decided to confront the family.
(Swara) “Ragini, I wanted to ask how your appointment with Laksh was?”
(Ragini) “Ya, I was going to talk about that only. So can I start?”
(Third Person’s POV)
All nodded, she told all the things that she had told Laksh. Shomi was crying that she was not able to understand her daughter especially when she needed her the most. She felt guilty and was crying when Ragini was telling her story. Whereas Nandini and Swara were happy as she finally confronted and they were having happy tears.
(Ragini) “So now please do not cry for me and Mom please be strong, I am all good and fine. I feel very light thanks to Laksh and moreover it was none of our mistake. Mom, Swara and
Nandini, I am sorry that I hid this from you guys, but I didn’t want anyone to take stress as we had so many problems because of father.”
(Nandini immediately pitched in) “Then I am sorry Ragini Di for being coward as I was the one who rang the bell that day and ran off and hid behind the bushes. Then once Raj came out and I made sure he didn’t do anything to you, I ran behind him and I heard him say to someone that the work was not done as someone came in the house. But before I could catch him, some homeless guy stabbed him (So Cliché I know) and ran away with all his belongings. I know I should have informed all but I didn’t want Ragini Di to relieve those moments and I didn’t want mom to take stress and therefore I just told Swara Di”
Ragini and Shomi didn’t know how to react. They were also numb and now it was time for Swara to tell her part
(Swara) “Yes, Nandini had told me everything but we both were waiting for Ragini to tell us because we didn’t want her to think about the same again and again. We wanted her to confront us but this confrontation took almost three years. That is the reason why I asked her to go to a Psychiatrist but it didn’t do much wonder. Whenever she stopped her medicines, she would get back her nightmares initially. But when she dropped her studies and started tutoring along with Mom and I, she started becoming a little free and I was happy seeing that change in her. So the doctor had reduced her dosage of medicines and after almost three years we got Laksh who has given Ragini strength and positivity to confront us and I should definitely thank him personally for that”
(Shomi controlled herself from sobbing and spoke) “Why didn’t you or Nandini tell me anything? Why did you keep in dark? When I saw Ragini’s condition it pained but none of you even bothered to tell me. Do you think I am so weak or vulnerable that none of you believed or trusted me?”
(Swara) “Mom, please this was not our intention. We didn’t want to bother you and moreover everything was under control only one thing was not clear that who provoked Raj to do that. Again mom, Nandini and I are really sorry. Please forgive us”
(Shomi) “I don’t know what to say. I am highly disappointed that none of you trusted me but being a mother I cannot stay angry from all of you. So I forgive you all”
(Swara) “Thank you and Sorry Mom. One more thing I am planning to invite Anurag Uncle, Shweta Aunty, Khushi, Sanskar, Sahil and Laksh on lunch this Sunday. What do you think?”
(Shomi) “I have no problem, its nice to have a get together and I can personally thank Laksh and also Khushi”
(Swara) “Mom can I also call DP Sir. He is like a father figure to me and I owe him a lot too”
(Shomi) “I have no problems please do call him too”
Discussing all this, the entire Bose family left to their respective room with happy faces.
Maheshwari Mansion
Laksh had already known about Ragini as Nandini and Swara had already explained him in the first meeting. So Laksh had decided to talk this about Sanskar as he also faced almost the same problem. He could also share his experience will help her gain more confidence. I just hope Sanskar is ready to tell his fears or at least guide Ragini, so he immediately called Sanskar. Sanskar was a bit reluctant as he did not want to re-live those memories again but at the same time he wanted to help Ragini. He knows that his past is bad but he also knew that it doesn’t affect him (he didn’t know what future hold for him). Laksh also tried making him understand and finally Sanskar also gave in and he decided to talk to Ragini but somewhere in his mind he also wanted to share the same with Swara and he didn’t know why. Whenever he thought about Swara he always had a feeling that he could believe this girl. Meeting Swara’s family and Khushi, he had a very positive feeling. He had started changing his opinion about women. He felt that not all women are the safe. In fact whenever he was around Swara
(Third Person’s POV)
Next day was a Saturday and in the morning Swara had invited everyone for lunch to Bose Mansion the next day. Swara had left for her university as they had music competition on Monday. To her surprise she saw Kavita and Sahil along with Swara. Sahil then explained that they were having plan of going to a café post practice and so they thought to tag along. Kavita as usual just stuck to Sanskar and she didn’t even acknowledge her. It was time for practice, so Swasan had left for practice leaving behind Kavita and Sahil. As soon as Swasan walked away, Swara reminded Sanskar of lunch at her home and Sanskar gave a positive answer as Sanskar also wanted to talk to Ragini. Swasan had an amazing practice and the music teacher had given them the location where the entire team had to reach for the competition. Swasan were happy post practice. Sanskar told Swara to come to university on Monday and from there he would pick her up and they could go together. Swara agreed to him as she knew there was no point in arguing with him. When they were walking out Kavita was angry that how could he be so happy with Swara and not with her. Sahil on the other hand was happy to see the Sanskar so carefree with Swara. Swara also reminded Sahil about the lunch plan in sign languages and he just smiled giving his affirmation. Kavita didn’t understand though she understood something was going on between Sahil and Swara. She got pissed thinking that Swara is stealing her lover and her friend. Swara didn’t bother about the looks that Kavita gave and she left for her home. On the other Side Kavita, Sahil and Sanskar left towards the café and spent some time.
Sunday
Swara was preparing two items as Sanskar had asked her too and she couldn’t deny it. Ragini and Sharmishtha (Shomi) were preparing the balance lunch. They had made Indian and Chinese. They were having fun cooking together. Whereas Nandini was studying as her finals were going to start from Monday and also she wanted to enjoy the lunch with the others so she decided to study hard before everyone comes. The time had come where the Bose family was ready to play the host. All their invitees started coming and it was a very nice atmosphere at Bose house. Anurag and Shweta came along with Khushi and Sahil, Sanskar, DP and Laksh came together. Everyone was gluing around nicely with each other. Where Nandini was pranking others along with Laksh and Sanskar. On the other side a love story was budding between Khushi and Sahil. Where Ragini and Swara were doing last minute touch up for the lunch, there Anurag, Shweta, Shomi and DP were having fun. Shomi and DP were comfortable with each other as both of them were from the same background and that is teaching. On and on it was a fun get together. The lunch was served at the backyard and all were having fun eating, talking and the like. The lunch came to an end and Sanskar was impressed with Swara’s cooking skills. Then all came back to the hall while Ragini and Swara were cleaning the backyard, Anurag and Shweta had to leave stating work. So Sahil assured them that he would safely drop Khushi. Laksh was telling Sanskar to talk with Sanskar and Sanskar realized that it was time to confront his memories. Nandini had left to her room for studies. DP and Shomi went towards the hall and started talking. DP and Shomi became great friends and being almost of the same age, they easily mingled with each other. Sahil took Khushi to the backyard again and started talking with her. Laksh suggested Swasan and Ragini to go to a room as there was something important to be spoken. So all four walked towards Swara’s room.
(Laksh) “So Ragini, remember I told you the day of the appointment that I know a person who would help you to gain more confidence”
Ragini nodded a “YES”
(Laksh) “So the person whom I want to meet is none other than Sanskar”
Ragini and Swara were shocked as they didn’t know how Sanskar could help Ragini.
(Laksh) “So I will not say anything now and Sanskar would take it over”
Sanskar was a little hesitant and nervous as he didn’t want to tell the truth but seeing Swara and Laksh he gained confidence. Swara who noticed Sanskar a little hesitant spoke
(Swara) “Sanskar if you are not comfortable, I can leave from here and you can talk to Ragini. You don’t have to tell it in front of me”
Sanskar didn’t hear what Swara said and simply nodded as he was confused from where to start. Then seeing Swara leaving the room
(Sanskar) “Swara let’s go to the hall and call everyone, I want to confront in front of all.”
(Laksh) “Are you sure about this? You have never confronted about this to anyone other than Ram uncle and me.”
(Sanskar) “I am sure Laksh. You also know that I have never bonded with everyone so comfortably like with Swara and Khushi’s family. I am not even comfortable with my own mom and sister. About DP uncle, he already knows, dad spoke to him during that period. Ragini would you mind telling your problem in front of all?”
Ragini assured that she was ready to tell everyone as they are like family.
So Swara went and called Nandini, Sahil and Khushi while others moved towards the place where Shomi and DP were already seated. All of them were confused as to what was happening.
Ragini sat in between Shomi and Swara, next to Swara sat Nandini. DP took the opposite side and sat next to Sanskar. Laksh sat beside Sanskar to give him support. Sahil and Khushi took the bean bags and sat. Then Ragini told what had happened with her. Khushi and Sahil felt bad but they just got up and hugged Ragini and came back to their seats. Now it was time for Sanskar to speak.
(Sanskar) “Now you all must be wondering why am I involved in all this or why I wanted Ragini to speak about all this. How am I involved in all this? Am I Right?”
All nodded their heads except DP, Laksh and Sahil as they all had an idea. Sahil understood that he was going to tell his past because of the lead that Ragini had taken earlier on. Sanskar then looked straight into Swara’s eyes which were noticed by Laksh and Sahil. Sanskar continued
(Sanskar) “In my family I had mom, dad and my elder sister. All had busy lives. My sister being elder to me by four years, was always busy with studies, makeup and her friends, she never gave time to me. My mom was busy with business and Uttara that she never gave time to me. But my dad was something different, no matter how busy he would be, he would make sure to spend some time with me, after coming from office, he used to come to my room and then we used to discuss about my school, my friends, my studies and the like. Its not that I am complaining about my sister or mom, it is just that how much ever my dad tried but I always craved for their love too. Then in school I had my friends Sahil and Kavita. I was kind of semi introvert person. I didn’t gel along much but now I have become a little different now all thanks to Laksh, my dad and DP Uncle. For me Sahil was and still is like my biggest support it was easy to confront in him. He is like a brother to me just like Laksh. I always had care-takers to take care of me because my mom or sister couldn’t take care of me as they were busy in their lives. When I was around 13 years of age, I was a growing kid and looked like a 16 year old boy. During that time my mom had changed my care-taker, I was totally against it but mom didn’t listen to me. The lady who was appointed by mom was actually her friend. She volunteered to take care of me as she was free and didn’t have any work at home. Though she was married, she didn’t have kids. I was alone as usual and came back from my school, what I saw was shocking, being a thirteen year old kid, the scene in front of me shocked me to the core. When I came back from school, i straight had gone to my dad’s room as I wanted something but when I went there I saw that lady and some guy having s*x. It was a shock to me, I didn’t even know that she was at home. Generally she used to come only after I came back from school, my mom did give her the spare house keys. I was going to run from that place as I got scared but unfortunately that lady saw me. She gave a smirk and ordered that man to catch me. I didn’t know what to do so I ran with full force, but unfortunately that man caught me and threw me on the bed. Then that lady came on top of me and started opening my shirt buttons (Sanskar paused for a minute)”
All were looking with shock in their eyes. Laksh held Sanskar’s hand and DP held his back and patted. Sahil came near Sanskar and sat down on the floor and held his other hand.
(Sanskar continuing after taking long breaths) “She came over me all nude and started opening my shirt buttons, I knew something was wrong and I started crying and shouting for help. None of the servants came and helped me”
FLASHBACK BEGINS
(Lady) “Oh my darling Sanskar, no one is at home. I have given them work so they would only come after two hours. So don’t waste your energy on calling anyone” (she started laughing cruelly)
(Lady) “How is it that you came early from school, but you know what I am happy you came, I always wanted to take your virginity away, you know why because I hate your dad.”
Sanskar as a kid didn’t know how to react he was just struggling under her and that other man was making video of his struggle and laughing by looking at Sanskar. Sanskar felt disgusted as both that man and the lady were looking at him lustfully. Sanskar felt disgusted as that lady was fully nude and literally her parts were touching his body. He had never seen a woman like that and he felt totally disgusted.
(Lady) “Don’t cry my dear (shirt buttons were off and she was going to remove his shirt when Sanskar with all his strength was pushing her away, then in anger, she started slapping Sanskar and shouted) Hey James, just help in taking out his shirt, this bastard boy is making my work difficult”
The James man came and caught Sanskar’s hand and took away his shirt from his body leaving his upper part completely exposed to James and the lady. Sanskar was crying even more badly and tried resisting both james and that lady’s touch. James left his body and stood silently and started filming it again.
(Lady) “Stop struggling. You know why I hate your dad (she was keeping her hands all over his body and telling the story). Your Dad, Mom and I were school friends. I loved your dad a lot. But he always liked your mom. I tried luring him he never showed interest in me (I know a cliché story). Then later on post College he married your mom and I married the man who was spineless. (Now the lady started touching his private parts through his pants and started giving him kisses on his abdomen while Sanskar still crying and resisting). That is the reason why I never wanted kids with that man. Then that man took me away from RP. But now after 12 years, we shifted here and that to next to your house. What a coincidence? I was happy to see RP again and when your mom gave me the opportunity of taking care of you, I could never say “NO” because I got an opportunity to see RP. Then I started getting attracted to you because you have same looks as RP and you look very handsome for your age. So I thought why not to fulfill my desires with you. Though today was not the day I intended to have you but nevertheless I have got an opportunity and I will utilize it.”
When she was going to Remove Sanskar’s pants, someone hit James on his head and he fell unconscious. The lady was shocked to see the person but before she could react, The person then hit the lady on her head, snatched the phone from James hand and took Sanskar and ran from the place, locking the door and immediately called the cops.
(RP’s POV)
Thank God I came home on time. I don’t know but I felt that something wrong was going to happen. If I hadn’t come on time, then my small kid would have been raped and that too all because of me. I knew my guts could never be wrong and seeing her again, I felt that she was upto something. That lady will suffer for torturing my son. Right now I am hugging my son who is in the state of shock and who is lifeless. I cannot see my son like that. Seeing him falling unconscious, I immediately called DP and doctor for my help. I took my son in my arms and changed his clothes, made him lie on bed and covered him with a duvet. I will never forgive that lady. Meanwhile the cops had come and took away the unconscious lady and the man. I gave my statement and handed the proof so that Sanskar need not go to the police station and go through the traumatic memories. The cops informed that it would be enough to put them behind the bars. I called up my neighbor and told him about what his wife did with his son. The neighbor told that he would give his full support and would also divorce that lady. While Sanskar started shouting again, I ran upto him and consoled him and told that everything was over but he being in subconscious state did not understand and started pushing me away. DP walked in with doctor, DP was standing behind me and consoling me whereas I was just crying seeing my son’s state. The doctor informed that he has given some anti depressant pills and suggested that he should be taken to a psychiatrist or a psychologist for better treatment. Then I went and sat behind my son while DP dropped the doctor. Then I told DP everything and cried even more. I knew I had to be strong for my son so I cried out in front of DP. Uttara and Sujatha had gone out and they would only return by night. I wish Sujatha never told that lady to take care of Sanskar. Then I wouldn’t have to see my son in this condition.
FLASHBACK ENDS
Laksh, DP and Sahil were still near him and were being pillar of support, while others numb and had tears in their eyes. Sanskar was still looking in Swara’s eyes and Swara too did not take her eyes off Sanskar
(Sanskar – present) “That lady had got imprisoned for around 10 years and her husband gave divorce and left the place. That day my dad and DP became my pillar of support whereas I asked my dad not to tell my mom and sister as I didn’t want to burden them, they both still don’t know the reality and they just know that the lady had left for some personal work. That day when Mom and Uttara di came they saw that I was sick and they knew that dad came and took care of me. They didn’t bother much as they were tired. I was shocked that my mom didn’t notice slap marks on my face. Then I was never normal. I took a week’s leave from school and my dad was there beside me. My mom and Uttara didn’t bother to ask why dad and I took leave. Sahil used to come and visit me and give me notes. When Sahil used to come I automatically used to relax. Dad took me to a doctor and the doctor gave me some pills and told me to focus on some activities. So from then on I focused my brain into studies and judo. I took judo for self defense and also to protect others when in danger. Now all must be wondering what is importance of Laksh in my life. Then he was the reason because of whom I have got my second life. The person who I am now is all because of Laksh. Laksh came in my life after three years of that incident. Laksh was doing his course in psychology and though he was just an entrant in this field but he was good at a very young age, he always assisted Psychologists during summer jobs. Being two years older than me, he always was over protective about me. When Laksh and his family shifted closer to our house, he again started meeting me. He noticed something different me. He understood that I was hiding something and I don’t know how he just got the words out of my mouth. He was shocked and then he immediately confronted dad. All of us then sat together and then Laksh suggested me to start writing down things and that was when I started writing diaries. Then he started treating me with stuffs and then he found out that I started enjoying music. Then I started singing and playing guitar. It brought more happiness in my life. I started opening up more and more. At the age of 16, I again gained my confidence. Dad, Laksh and DP uncle were always ready to pick me up when I was going to fall. Diary writing and Music became my need. Laksh made me stop having all medicines. Then slowly I started flirting, enjoying every moment of life. Now I am a happy go lucky person with lots of people around me and now I am not bothered about my past. I started hating women and I became a little distant with mom and Uttara. In women I could only bear mom, Uttara and Kavita to some extent but when Swara became my friend, things changed. She posed a challenge and I hated her. But doing project with her, I changed. Then Khushi became a friend, I felt more open. Then I got close to you all and now perspective about women has changed a little. So I am done”
(Third Person’s POV)
All looked at him in shock seeing him smile. So they all wiped their tears away too. Sanskar was happy that they didn’t show any sympathy. The first to hug was Sahil and he murmured in his ears telling that he already knew his truth. Sanskar was shocked but at the same time happy because in spite of him knowing the truth he never showed any indifference. Nandini then ran and hugged him and told that whenever he wanted a sister, he should remember me. Nandini also added that we would play pranks on all together and both started laughing. Ragini came and thanked him for telling his past and now she felt happier. She also added that her past was nothing for what he had suffered and gave him a smile. Then Khushi came and told him that she could also be his sister as she doesn’t have a brother. Sanskar agreed and both hugged immediately. Swara didn’t know how to react and she just stared at Sanskar. Shomi came forward and gave him a motherly hug. She patted his head and assured that whenever he wanted to feel a mom’s love, he could always come to her. He felt happy and then hugged her tightly once more. Sanskar then said he wanted some fresh air and walked towards the backyard.
