Chapter 4: “Roaming in Pune”
It is beautiful Sunday morning. Birds are chirping. Sun rays are falling on Swara’s face. She wakes up with the sound of beep on her cell. She checked the message it was from Sanskar.
Sanskar: Good Morning Swara. Be ready by 8 30. I will come to pick you.
As soon as Swara reads the message her eyes are popped up. She checks the time. It was 7 30 already. She immediately wakes up from the bed. She freshen up and by the time she is ready it is already 8 25. She picks up her purse and car key. Her roommies are shocked to see Swara ready early on Sunday morning. They thought of teasing her.
Neha: Swara, did you forgot today is Sunday? Why did you wake up so early?
Anjali: Neha, did you forgot our innocent Swara is engaged now and her Fiance is in Pune. He might be coming here to pick her up.
Swara: Kya hain tum dono ko? Subah subah koi aur nahi mila kya? I told you yesterday only that my Sunday is booked with Sanskar.
As they were having girly time, they here a knock on the door. Neha asked Anjali to open the door and tells Swara to hide.
On the other side Sanskar was guilty of his act on previous night so he thought to compensate today by surprising Swara. He comes with beautiful bouquets made of peonies, roses and ranunculus. He also bought Dairy Milk Silk for Swara as he knew that Swara loves it.
As soon as Anjali opens the door, Sanskar bow down his head and offers bouquet and chocolate to Anjali. Anjali smiles sheepishly and says “Good Morning Sanskar”. Sankar realizes that it is not Swara’s voice. He feels awkward and asks for Swara. Anjali didn’t took bouquet but she mischievously took chocolate. Anjali asks him to come inside and seat.
Sanskar comes inside and wait for Swara. Anjali signals Neha to send Swara. Neha comes with Swara. Neha sees chocolate in Anjali’s head and asks Sanskar for her chocolate.
Neha: Sanskar, this is not fair. Why you gave chocolate only to Anjali? What about me? Didn’t you buy it for me?
Sanskar in mind thanks his friend Danish who advised to buy chocolates for Swara’s roommates also as he know that girls are crazy about chocolates and it won’t look good if he gives chocolates only to Swara.
Sanskar: Good morning to you too . How can I forget you? Here it is.
Swara feels overwhelmed with Sanskar’s gesture. She feel happy. Sanskar moves towards and gives bouquet and chocolate. Swara takes both with excitement. They bid bye to Neha and Anjali. As soon as they come out Swara asks Sanskar about today’s plan.
Swara: Sanky sorry Sanskar, what is today’s plan?
Sanskar feels sad but replied her without any hesitation. He doesn’t want to make situation more awkward and tries to cheer up her mood.
Sanskar: Swara, this is your city. You should tell me what is the plan? but before plaaning anything lets have breakfast and then we will think about the rest. I am very hungry. Mere pet mein chuhe daud rahe hain. Pahele pet pooja baki sab kaam dooja.
Swara smiles hearing him. They go to nearby restaurant and starts having breakfast. While having breakfast Sanskar asks apology to Swara for behaving rudely previous night.
Sanskar: Swara I am sorry for behaving rudely to you previous night.
Swara: Sanskar it’s ok but I don’t understand what’s wrong with that name. “Sanky” is cute name .
Sanskar: There is nothing wrong with that name but I don’t like it. That’s it.
Sanskar’s POV
Swara may be someday I will tell you the real reason behind it. There was a person who used to call me with that name and now I don’t want anyone to call me by that name.
Sanskar’s POV ends
Swara: No problem. I will search for another name for you. Anyways you can call me Shona as at home everyone calls me by that name.
Sanskar: That’s so sweet of you. Swara, as you know that we got engaged recently and we hardly know each other can we start our relation with friendship. Will you be friend?
Swara: I was also thinking the same. So yes we are friends now.
They finishes their breakfast and come out of the restaurant. Swara tells Sanskar to visit “Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati”.
Swara: As this is the first time we are going out and with a new relation shall we visit “Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati” temple and take bappa’s blessings.
Sanskar nods in yes and they go to parking where Swara’s car is parked. Swara unlocks the car and heads towards driving seat. Sanskar immediately stops her and tells her that he will drive. Swara reluctantly agreed as she never gives her car for drive to anyone and she doesn’t know how to deny Sanskar. Sanskar takes the car key from her and opens passenger seat’s gate for her. She seats in the car and he moves he moves towards the driving seat. He starts driving and within 30 mins they reach. The road to the temple is narrow so he parks the before that and both come out of the car.
Here Swara is scared of crossing road so she holds Sanskar’s hand in fear. He looks at her with question mark and she tells him about her fear. He holds her hand more firmly and assures her that nothing will happen. They reach to temple and as it is Sunday there is long queue of the people who came to the temple. They both stand in the queue and after nearly 1 hour they got chance to do Darshan of bappa and both prays for their future together. They come out of the temple and starts walking towards the car. This time before Swara should say anything he holds her hand while crossing the road. They reach to the car starts to decide their next destination.
