Meenakshi smiled as Piya entered the kitchen.
Meenakshi:Piya…Good Morning…
Piya:Good morning Maa.
Meenakshi smiled:I feel nice when you call me Maa.
Piya:I am not used to calling anyone Maa.So I feel very happy that I have a mother now.
Meenakshi smiled hugging her.
They heard a voice:You have a father also.
It was Mehul.

Mehul and Meenakshi smiled at each other with relief.
Samar was surprised to see kheer on the table.
Samar:Wow..my favourite.
He tasted it.
Samar:So tasty mom.This kheer is different from the other kheers you make.But more tastier.Love you mom.
Meenakshi smiled:This I love you should go to Piya as she made the kheer today.
Samar was stunned:What?
He looked at Piya slowly.
Samar:It was nice Piya.
Piya smiled.
Meenakshi and Mehul smiled.
Piya got ready to go to college.
Samar was finding it difficult to face her.
Without looking at her Samar said:I am sorry Piya..But I did’nt intend to hurt you.
Piya smiled:Samar…you don’t have to be guilty.It’s ok if you can’t love me.But we can continue as friends.Right?
Samar smiled with relief:Ye sure Piya.
She smiled.
Samar:Shall I drop you to college?
Suddenly Meenakshi came.
Meenakshi:What is this Piya?Today itself you are going to college?You are a newly wed bride.
Piya:Ya..but I can’t miss my classes as exams are nearing.
Meenakshi:Ok.But Samar will drop you.

Samar dropped Piya to her college.
Piya smiled at him:Bye Samar.
Samar:Bye.
He drove away.
Piya heard some students gossiping.
“Piya is so lucky.She is only an orphan.But she got the richest handsome husband in the world”.
Piya’s face became dull.
Piya:Why these people are talking like this as if getting a rich husband is the luckiest thing?Does love have no value in married life now?Only money and status?
She hid her pain.Ignoring them she walked to her classroom.
Piya was reading her law books and studying.
Samar entered the room with coffee.
Samar:You need any help?
Piya:No Samar.It’s law.You are not familiar with it.Right?
Samar:Ya..that’s right.Anyways drink this coffee.
Piya was surprised:Coffee?
Samar:Ya..actually mom sent it for you.
Piya:Maa is so sweet.
Piya took the coffee from him.He smiled.
While sipping the coffee Piya asked him:Samar…you don’t love me.So do you expect divorce from me?
Samar became dull.
He stammered:Aaaa..ac…actually Piya..I never thought about it yet.
Piya:Means you will think about it in future.
Samar was silent.
Piya suppressed her pain.
Piya:I understand…there is no point in living together.We can apply for divorce.After that you can marry the girl you want.A girl who matches your status.
Samar:Piya..do you want to divorce me?
Piya was silent.She was upset.
Samar:If you are not keen on divorcing me even I don’t want divorce.
Piya was stunned.
Samar:I married you because I can’t see my parents upset.If I divorce you they will be so upset that they will not forgive me ever.
Piya became emotional seeing his love for his parents.

Samar was busy in his business while Piya who completed her college started practicing as a junior lawyer under a famous lawyer named Arundati.
Samar thought:I hurt Piya a lot.I could’nt give her the love she deserves.But as a friend I will make her happy.
He smiled.
Piya entered the room.
Samar gave her a dress:My gift for you.Hope you will love it.
She was surprised.
Piya:I loved it.But this is party wear.
Samar:Yes.For parties you need to wear a party wear.Right?
Piya:But which party?
Samar:Surprise!
She smiled.
Piya came wearing the dress Samar gave her.He was mesmerized by her beauty.
Samar:Come with me.
He took her to the guest house.
She was surprised to see the decoration over there.It was full of balloons and other items which are usually used for decorating a Christmas tree.
Samar:Happy birthday to you Piya.
Piya was surprised.
Piya:Happy birthday to me?I don’t even know my birth date Samar.
Samar:But I know from the orphanage that on this day only they got you.So this date can be assumed as your birthday.Right?
Piya:They got me on this date.But there is no guarantee that it is my birthday.
Samar:That is not a problem.We can fix this date itself as your birthday and celebrate it.Ok?
She smiled.
Samar made Piya cut the cake and fed her the cake.She fed him the cake back.

Samar saw Piya in his office cabin.He was surprised.His face blossomed.

Suddenly Samar realized that he was imagining Piya there.He became shy.

He was literally seeing Piya everywhere.

He caressed her head with a sweet smile.He leaned towards her forehead to kiss there.Suddenly he came back to senses.

He looked at her deeply.He was lost in her.

She took all the clothes from the cupboard to fold them properly.There she saw a heart shaped big box.
Suddenly she got tensed.

She took the box and opened it.There she saw a card.She opened the card.
She saw “I love you Piya”.
She was surprised.Her happiness had no bounds.

Meenakshi was very upset.Mehul noticed her.

Meenakshi:Mehul…we were wrong.Samar has not changed a bit.He has not accepted Piya yet as she is an orphan.
