I was wandering in the forbidden part of the forest , forbidden for humans , not for me. Luckily , I found my prey , grazing grass in the small patch of land in midst of the humongous trees. I was careful not to show any movement, or my prey would escape. It’s not like I won’t be able to catch it… it deserves to have one good meal before dying. I’m not that cruel.
Just then I heard the footsteps of an intruder.
“Hey,Mister!”, a voice whispered.
I saw a little girl about my age wearing a red cloak , holding a basket of fruits in her tiny hands ,advancing her steps towards me. She stood beside me and began gazing at the deer.
“Isn’t she beautiful?” she whispered without taking her eyes off the little creature.
Then she looked at me.Her eyes full of curiosity, expecting a reply. Her hair fluttering in the gentle wind that managed to penetrate through the thick foliage. She looked like an angel descended from heaven. I was so engrossed in noticing her features that I kept staring her like a dumb creature. On getting no response, she waved at me, breaking my trance.
“Hello? Are you there?”, she asked, raising her eyebrows at me. Her melodious voice was a pleasure to my ears.
Suddenly, I felt a touch on my hand, which brought me back to earth. I noticed a small diary in my hand.
“Are you deaf ?”,she had written on a notepad in a neat handwriting. I could not help but get amused at her antics.
“Huh? No.. I can listen.”
“Where were you lost then?”, she shifted her gaze to the doe.
“In you…”

I was walking upside-down on the ceiling of my room when my assistant Angre entered.
Being a Vampire has its own perks.You can climb trees, run faster than light, walk upside-down and what not! Each one of us has a unique power.
I can control myself better than any other Vampire of my clan. Control in terms of resisting blood. And that is why I can merge with humans easily. But I have never liked this life… Wait… This isn’t a LIFE… I AM DEAD!

“Boss, you are freaking me now!”

Now the poor guy doesn’t remember what happened in the last five minutes. I cannot help but chuckle.
“What’s the news?”, I asked, while rotating the glass paper-weight.
“Shaw is abducted by our men, and all his black-doings have been revealed to the world.”
“Good. Send him to the Court now.”
“Ok boss…”, he gave one last look of affirmation and went away.
Court doesn’t mean the public court. I have my own court, where justice is served to everyone. No dates, no hearings, no delays. The guilty is punished rightfully for his crimes.

Tears were flowing down her chubby cheeks , her beautiful eyes were swollen and her delicate lips were pleading him for mercy.

Now he had to pay the price of every tear of my sweetheart , MY sweetheart .I instantly grabbed his collar and catching the last glimpse of her angelic face, thundered back to my place. There I slayed him to death, not before extracting his boss’s information from his head. That’s one of my powers as well, reading minds…
Vampires aren’t that bad you know. We don’t kill innocent people, but we never leave sinners. And Shaw… he’s definitely going to be a prey of my fellow vampires.
My mind goes back to the the day I met her.
“Where were you lost then?” she shifted her gaze to the doe.
“You…”
“Huh?”, she looked at me shockingly.
“I’mean who are you?”
“Oh! I am Ridhimma. And you?”
Ridhimma… What a beautiful name!
“You can call me VR.”
“So.. VR, what are you doing here? My mother says we shouldn’t come here. If any human comes here, they kill him/her.”
“Who?”
“I can’t say aloud. Come here!” she signalled me to forward my ear towards her.
She cupped her hands around my ear as if it formed a soundproof wall.
“The Bloodsuckers!” she spoke amusingly.

I was sitting in the bar, waiting for the other party to arrive.
Foolish people!
They have been wasting my time for the last fifteen minutes. I was about to leave when I felt weight on my lap.
“Excuse me, Miss.”
“Yep…”
“You are sitting on my lap.”
“I know that, baby.”
“Sorry but please help me.”,she whispered.
“I don’t know y..”
Before he could say anything, she smashed her lips on his. While he was rather shocked at her madness. She was kissing an unknown guy in public.
“Baby! I know you are upset with me. First let’s go home, then I’ll explain you everything.Ok?”
The jaw of a boy who was sitting nearby fell to the ground. He stomped his feet in anger and went away.
Vansh led her to his car. Like a true gentleman , he opened the door for her.
“No,thanks.I’ll go myself.”
“Boyfriend ka itna haq to banta hi hai… ki vo apni girlfriend ko ghar tak chod de.”
Finally she agreed.
“I can explain.”
“I’ll be glad if you do.”
“Vo… actually, a boy was constantly stalking me everywhere. He even proposed me but I declined saying I am already committed but today he saw me alone and started following me. You were the only man who was looking decent so I did whatever came to my mind to get rid of him… Hope you understand.”
She looked at him with puppy eyes. His heart melted at her cuteness, but he maintained the stern look on his face.
“So… where’s your home? “, he asked after a while.
“I’ll go myself.”
“Wait… Don’t you think we’re kind of gf-bf now?”
“Umm…No!”
He gave her a disinterested look.
“Any friends you got?” he asked her while driving, his eyes focused on the road.
“Nope!”
“Girl, you are kidding me!”
“I am different from others. You won’t understand.”
“Ohh… That’s true!” he mumbled.
“So…do you have the habit of speaking inside your mouth or do you think I’ve got superhuman hearing skills?”
“Lips sealed!”
He dropped her to her home, which was a rented apartment, not before giving her his number and asking out for a date the day after.
He drove silently back home and worked till midnight on his laptop. After finishing his work, he sent a message to his uncle, his only family through mind-link. He doesn’t trust technology in these matters. The rivalries can do anything…
He looked out of his window and gazed at the moon. He could see the reflection of her face, smiling innocently at him. His mind went back to the memory lane.
“Bloodsuckers!”
“This is really absurb! Why would they kill anyone just for mere trespassing?”
“God knows! I never met any of them.. I wonder if they exist!”
“They do…” he muttered under his breath.
“Ohh god! I’m getting late! Bye Mister VR.” she gave him a smile and disappeared in the thick cover of trees.
I waited for her,everyday,but she never came back.

-3 months later-
“What will you do if I jump down this cliff?”
“Umm… Depends!”
“Then, catch me!” saying this she jumped into the raven.
“Ridhimmaaa!!” he too jumped after her.
In mid-air, he hugged her tightly and in a fraction of a second, that felt like millenniums to them, their memories flashed in front of their eyes. And splash!
He felt wet so he opened his eyes and found water around them.
“You mad girl! Do you even think before doing anything? You almost took my life away when you did that stunt! Did you even think what would have happened to me?”
“Say it again?”
“What? Are you even in your senses?”
“Why did you jump after me?”
“Don’t try to divert the topic.”
“Answer me you cheat!”
“Come again?”
“You are a blo*dy cheater! Get it? You cheated on me, your bestfriend! I saw you with that girl!”
“Ohh, really? Look who’s telling! And what about you being so frank and over-friendly with that Ranjan?”
“And why do you care? It’s my life!”
“Because I love you! You are only mine! And…” he realised what he said and his expression changed from anger to horror.
“Dammit!”
“Tch! Tch! Tch! Look who spilled the beans…” she gave him a sympathetic look.
Finally he gathered his courage and expressed his feelings for her.
“I love you Ridhimma. And I.. I can’t afford to lose you, even it it means dying for you or…dying with you.”
“I love you too.”
Happy tears started flowing down their cheeks and then they kissed, with a promise to live together and… die together.
The setting sun witnessed the love of two souls, sorry…bloodsuckers.

Days passed and then weeks. The closeness between Riddhima and Vansh grew further. They became best-friends.
“What’s the surprise?”,she asked for the umpteenth time.
“A surprise is a surprise.”, he replied calmly.
“That’s cheating!”
“Nope! Open your eyes… now!”
They were in the middle of a dense forest.
“Whoa! What’s this place? Wait… I’ve been here… in my childhood. This.. This is the-“
“Abandoned part of the forest!” they both spoke together.
“Do you know this place?”
“Yes…Riddhima.”
“VR?”
He nodded and she immediately hugged him.
“You don’t know for how long I waited for you.” he said breaking the hug.
“I had no choice. We had to flee away from our village that day due to the riots. My parents were killed in those fights. I had no other choice, but to stsy here.”
“I’m so sorry…”
“No, it’s okay! I’m so happy, my best-friend is my childhood friend!”
“One more thing! I don’t know what you would think about me on hearing this, but I’m a Vampire.”
“Okay!”
“Aren’t you scared?”
“Nah! I told ya, I ain’t a little girl. You know what? I’ve have always been fascinated by supernatural beings, fairies, vampires, werewolves and all that stuff. I always wanted to be one of them, but no worries! I have a friend like you!”
“There’s something more..”
“Yeah!”
“You are one of us.”
“What?”
“That day when I saved you, that man was sent by our rival clan to kill you. Our princess had been abducted by their clan but she somehow escaped. She started living in a village and married a man. They were your parents. You are a half-human, half-vampire. That’s why you yourself don’t know about it. The first time I saw you, I knew you were a vampire, but I was not sure. When they attacked you, my doubt was confirmed. But after that day, I couldn’t find you. Destiny made us meet again.”
“Whoa! Do I have powers?”
“You do!”
“Can you teach me how to use them?”
“Sure, sweetheart!”

“Okay, but did you forget I can teleport?”
“You vampiresses make our brains numb!”
“Aww!!”
“So, how many babies do you want?” he asked mischievously, while she smacked his arm.
