Episode 2:-
“Maya , the scary boss!”
Maya Jaisingh checks his certificates. Rudra sits quietly. Maya ( being surprised) – “Rudra Ahuja , you are a software engineer, you are passed out in 2014 . You have good grade. Where were you working before ?” Rudra – “ This is first time Iam applying for a job “. Maya – “ Strange ! You are passed out six years ago and you haven’t done any other job . Finally you came for an executive assistant job , why?”. Rudra – “ I had some family issues.. “ . Maya – “ Oho. Ok fine . See, This is a private firm . So, If you work hard you can stay otherwise you will be fired . Got it ?”. Rudra nods and replies – “ Yes Ma’am “. Rajeev knocks on the door . Rajeev comes there with a bucket of water and cleaning mop. Maya allows him to come in. Rajeev cleans the floor and leaves. Rudra feels bad for him. Maya – “ I hate lazy people, I won’t tolerate any nuance for sure “. Rudra – “ I will work hard , I will give my best to this job . That’s my word “. Maya smiles . Maya – “ That’s nice. So , welcome to Quadra Infortek”. Rudra smiles . Rudra – “ Thank you Ma’am “. They shake their hands. Maya rings the bell and Rajeev comes in. Maya – “ So, Mr.Rajeev will tell you about job in detail”. Rudra – “ Ok Ma’am “. Rajeev gives forced smile. Rudra leave Maya’s cabin with Rajeev.
As soon as they comes out of her cabin Rajeev takes breath out heavily. Rudra looks him. Rajeev then smiles. Rudra – “ Actually, I was worried when I saw her scolding you. But when she behaved nicely with me . That’s when I got relaxed”. Rajeev smiles in a sarcastic manner but Rudra doesn’t see that. Rajeev- “ Congratulations, you are now a part of our company. Atleast for few days..” . Rajeev stops as he notice Rudra giving a strange look. Rajeev- “ I mean …. Nothing . Let me give you details about your job . You have to take care of Maya Ma’am work schedule, do assignments that she assign to you , make her cabin fresh before she enter her cabin every morning . Take care of everything. If you do your work you can go home . “. Rudra – “ Ok. So once I finish my work for the day , I can leave . That’s interesting “. Rajeev – “ Your mistaken there is fixed working time that is 9am to 6pm . Hard work , Punctuality, Disciple, Alertness, Concentration, Tolerance are the six virtues you should have to work under Maya Ma’am”. Rudra – “ Ok. I will take care of everything”.
Rajeev then take him to other colleagues to introduce him. Rajeev – “ Hai Everyone, this is the new member of our company. Rudra , Maya Ma’am’s new executive assistant “. Everyone gets shocked and looks him sympathetically. Rudra feels weird seeing their reaction. One of the lady staff (Ananya ) – “ Do you know about this post well?” Rajeev gives her a look and indicates not to speak anything more. Rudra ( tensed) – “ Is any problem?” Rajeev – “ Not at all ! Just come aside”. Rudra goes with Rajeev. Rudra – “ Why did she asked me like that as if Iam going for a war ?” Rajeev ( in mind ) – “ It isn’t less than a war , or else war will be more easy “. Rudra – “ What are you thinking? Answer me “. Rajeev – “ They are jealous of you “. Rudra- “ Jealous of me ?” Rajeev- “ Your are the executive assistant of our boss , you are close staff working with her . They are all after you . Thus they will be jealous ,na?” Rudra – “ Really, But from their expression it doesn’t seem like .. “ . Rajeev interrupts and says – “ Don’t overthink . Just concentrate on your job “. Rudra nods.
Just then another man in formal suit see them and stop near them. That man – “ Hey Rajeev, did your Maya Ma’am came ? “
Rajeev- “Hai Sir, yes she came and I got my quota”. That man (smiles)- “ Who is he ?” Rajeev – “ He is Rudra , Maya Ma’am’s new assistant “. That man looks surprised and ask- “ Oho Really? Did he … “. Rajeev takes him to other side . That man – “ Didn’t you told him about the scenario? “ Rajeev- “ Why to scare him on his first day?” That man – “ It will be a wonder, if he could stay here atleast for 1 week”. Rajeev smiles.
Rajeev goes Rudra . Rudra – “ Who is that man?” Rajeev- “ He is Vikram Mathur, head of operations wing”. Rudra – “ Why was he shocked when told about my post ?” Rajeev- “ Nothing, it’s a tough job that’s it”. Rudra – “ Oho. Can I ask you something? Is there any problem?” Rajeev- “ Not at all!”
Rudra starts to work. Everything was what he thought of . Maya started to make him work hard like a hell. Rudra becomes exhausted by high work pressure. He never expected to get mad by working. Rudra worked hard . He worked day and night. He had to work even on Sundays.
Rudra start to have nightmares of Maya scolding him and giving him a pile of files.
Maya’s scolding was now a daily thing for him. Everyone was amazed that Rudra staying in the job even after such ill treatments. Rudra was working like a machine.
His flatmates sympathies seeing his condition. Rudra comes home late and goes to his office early. Now Rudra is taking bus and local trains to reach his office. After tiring day, he has to cope up with crowd of Mumbai Local trains.
One month passed away…..
Rudra is doing some work on the PC. Then Ananya look him. Ananya comes to him and pats on his shoulder gently.
Ananya – “ Hai Rudra “. Rudra turns towards her and replies with a smile – “ Hai Ananya”. Ananya – “ You know , you have completed 1 month in this company “. Rudra feels proud. Rudra – “ Yes, How fast does time flies?” Ananya- “ Everyday you were busy, finally I could talk to you today”. Rudra smiles. Rudra – “ Its because Maya Ma’am is out of town. She come today “. Ananya – “ I must say you are really great! How do you tolerate that lady “. Then Rajeev comes to Rudra . Rajeev – “ Ananya , Why are you talking about that volcano? Don’t you have any positive things to talk?” Ananya turns her face. Rajeev then talks to Rudra – “ Congratulations! Your salary will be credited today “. Rudra – “ Yes, my first ever salary!”. Rajeev- “ Its natural that you get excited for the first salary. After sometime you will not be much happy “. Rudra – “ Why?” Rajeev- “ Thinking , Why Iam not getting more money for my work “. Rajeev and Rudra laughs.
Just then Maya Jaisingh comes . As soon as she comes Rajeev and Ananya runs away to their respective places. Rudra turns to do his work again. Rudra tries to wish her but she doesn’t mind him.
After sometime, Maya calls him to her cabin.
Maya – “ Why haven’t you completed your work yet?” Rudra – “ Ma’am , I worked yesterday till 9.30pm . I came to office early today, but this work is too heavy “. Maya – “ This work is heavy for you ? Really? Nonsense!Lazy fellow “. Rudra stands silent. Maya – “ How will you finish the work when you are having loose talks on working hours? Oho my god! Why are you sending such idiots to me ? See , I want this work done within 1 hour . Send me via email. You got it “. Rudra nods . Maya – “ Now clear out “. Rudra feels humiliated.
Rudra comes out frustrated. Everyone heard Maya scolding him. Rajeev comes to him. Rajeev – “ Don’t worry “. Rudra – “Am I a jinn who came from magic lamp to things within minutes? How can I complete a work that takes 5 days in 2 days? You don’t know I haven’t slept properly for days. Even after working like a donkey, that Chudail won’t tell anything nice. My bl**dy fate that I have to work under her”. Rajeev gently pats on his shoulder to make him relaxed. Rajeev- “ See , Man. It’s fate of everyone who work under someone. Take it easy.” Rudra is sad . Rajeev- “ Just , Take my case , whenever she calls me I go there with a blank face. I hear it through one ear and leaves it through other ear. That’s it”.
Just then a lady staff comes to them and tell that Maya is calling Rajeev to her cabin. Rajeev- “ Its my time now , let me get my quota “. Rajeev keeps blank expression on his face and leaves.
Rudra goes to Washroom. Rudra gets emotional. He calls his mother. Rudra – “ Hello Maa, ?” Mother’s voice – “ Hai, Beta. Didn’t you gone to your office? Are you ok?”. Rudra – “ Yes, Iam fine. Iam at office only. I just thought about you , so I just called you. Iam missing you”. Mother’s voice – “ Iam missing you too. My dear work hard, be best one in your office “. Rudra – “ Mm”. Mother’s voice – “ Beta, whatever it be you should remember about your purpose”. Rudra – “ I know . Afterall this job is my only hope. I will give my best. I will call you back after sometime “. He hangs up. Rudra wipes his tears .
Rajeev comes inside and gets into the toilet. He starts to verbally abuse Maya to get his frustration out. Rudra gets shocked . Rajeev comes out .
Rudra – “ What happened?” Rajeev – “ She is horrible ! I don’t get the how does she gets this much of energy to scold everyone. Doesn’t she get bored? Iam getting bored for sure. She crossed her limits of scolding!” Rajeev becomes emotional. Rudra – “ Didn’t you say anything back ?” Rajeev- “ Didn’t you heard what I said inside? I broken a bucket too”. Rudra feels bad. Rajeev- “ Let me get a new bucket. Its 5th bucket in this month”. Rajeev leaves. Rudra – “ Poor us !”
