The Lost Princess

Once upon a time there was a Kingdom in which lived a king and his beloved queen. After few years of their marriage, the king and queen were gifted with a baby girl after whom they bore no child. The baby girl was named Anika , meaning grace. Anika , being the only child of her parents, was pampered to the fullest. She was loved and adored by everyone in the kingdom and called as Princess. When Anika turned 4, one of her evil aunts took her away from her parents and the kingdom. The king ordered his men to find Anika anywhere they could, but it was no use, she was gone, maybe forever. Everyone mourned their beloved Princess’ sudden disappearance.
Anika was young and she had some faint memories of her parents and as small children tend to forget things, she soon forgot her parents, only to accept her evil aunt as her only family , what other choice did the four year old have? She soon grew to be a young and beautiful girl but her growing were not very pleasant.
She was often rebuked by her aunt for her petty mistakes. She was made to do every single work of the household and she was often denied even the little food she had. But being the good girl she was, she took in all the scoldings and rebukes of her aunt as an act of her lover for her . But again,what other choices did she have? Her aunt was her only family ,wasn’t it?
One fine day, when Anika was out in the market, buying some general household materials, a young man ,wearing a black tux , collided with her all of a sudden. She toppled and was about to fall when she was held by someone. She opened her eyes to see her helper, only to find the same person who landed her into this trouble.
She glared at him only to meet his eyes, the colour of an ocean, bluish green. ‘How can a person’s eyes be this beautiful?’ she admired, keeping her thoughts to herself. She had never been the one to believe in love at first sight so she blinked twice because at first glance her heart already knew it was him.
Soon, the young, handsome gentleman made her stand on her feet and helped her with the things that had fallen down.
“I’m sorry, Miss….?”He spoke, trying to act normal because his heart was pounding, ready to jump out of the rib-cage.Anika didn’t fall alone, he fell with her and for her.”Anika.” She said trying hard to maintain a decent smile on her face and trying not to jump with excitement.
“Only Anika? No second name?”He asked. “Yes.Anika.Only Anika.”she replied. The young man seemed amazed by her confidence, another thing added to the list of what he likes about her.They started walking together down the road. The young man didn’t care that just a moment ago he had almost knocked her over in his hurry and Anika didn’t care about her evil aunt. For now, they were with each other.
“Your name?”Anika asked, sounding a little anxious. “Shivaay Singh Oberoi” came the answer. “I think Shivaay would do.” Anika asked for confirmation to which Shivaay nodded with a smile.
“What do you do?” Shivaay asked her. ” Oh me? I live with my aunt and help her in the household chores .”said Anika,not wanting to give anymore information.
“Oh, I see.” Shivaay said just before his mobile phone rang. He looked at the phone and then said to Anika in an apologizing tone,”I’m sorry , I’ve really got to go. “He turned to go but again turned towards Anika,”Meet me here, after 6 days, same time. I’ll wait for you.” And then he finally left in his lavish car.

Hello everyone, I am Tanz. I’m not sure if people still remember me here but some months ago I wrote a fanfic here. 🙂

So this is an OS I had written for a competition on wattpad and now that it’s over, I thought of sharing it here. It might be super cheesy or cliche but I’ve been wanting to write something of a fairytale for ages. Let’s see who can guess which fairy tale’s spinoff this is ?

Also, this should end in 2 or three parts . IllI update the next parts soon 🙂
